• The fastest phosphate eater

Colleagues, in your opinion, besides removers (chemicals), what (coral) is the fastest consumer of phosphates from the system? The term "softness" is clear, but simply put, what do you think is the best? "Optimal feeding" is also understood, let's discuss more globally.

According to my observations, when my soft marine aquarium had nitrates and phosphates at around NO3-50mg/l and possibly PO4-0.5mg/l or slightly more, I noticed that all three of my sarcophytons (especially the brown Glaucum) and sinularias (especially the "dura") started to grow very quickly, and the anemone (H. Magnifica) also liked the nitrates. I did not notice any changes in other invertebrates.

To pulsate. When nitrates are at zero, I hardly grow anything. My nitrates are always 5-10, but I believe that's good for my reef. I mostly have soft corals.

Max, what about the example with phosphates, like: > 0.5; < 0.5? How does it react to them? It seemed to me that when it increases to 0.5, it slows down the pulsation.

Nicole

to the clavularia and briareum. This is a fast-growing species. How does it work for you?

Danielle8118

Well, what can I say about this, clavularia felt great with nitrates from 20-50 mg/l, they were lush and bright, but when the nitrates dropped to 0.5 or 0, their growth stopped, and over time the clavularia thinned out (maybe it's just me?). Briarium grows slowly for me both with and without nitrates, but I noticed that the less you disturb it, the better it develops, meaning you can't bother it, which is not the case with clavularia. Best regards.

the keyboard without nitrates dies

Come on.................. Be more careful with such statements... She lives with nitrates and without them... It all depends on many factors. And nitrates are at the very bottom of the list.

Ricardo7341

Judging by the photo, I wouldn't trust JBL's tests very much. Their margin of error can go either way.

Javier5186

My briarium grows extremely slowly.

Kyle

Yarik, I don't know. My phosphates are always at 0.

Samuel6138

I don't trust JBL.

Mark9853

Yarik, let me give you the serov test. You will also measure phosphates with it...

Jeanne

He lies even more.

Emma

I don't think he's lying on such a global scale, but let's try to compare. I'll arrive on the 10th. (as we agreed)

Aaron6112

+ Ksenia and Klavuliaria. If this is correct: What grew faster?

Katherine

Yarik, my JBL test for ammonium showed an ammonium concentration of 4.0 in freshly prepared water.

Julie4738

Ksyukhi were growing better.

Kristen1161

Ksyukhi feel great at 50 nitrates, but at zero they just wilt if not fed! As for clavularia, in my opinion, they just don't care at all!
