They probably can if they have been kept in complete darkness for a year, possibly even in very clean water, without organic impurities, as that would serve as food for bacteria that would cover the stones. Otherwise, the stones look very clean. It's as if they were stored in a warehouse... in a dry and unheated room. From my personal experience, my former live stones were cleaned and washed, showing their whiteness after being left under the open southern sun and sometimes in heavy rain for a year in the fresh air...

Chad9037

He doesn't really look like J.K. (living stones).

Joseph591

It's hard for us with living stones.

Todd

Even in complete darkness, they won't look like that. If it's a year without water, that's a different story.

Thomas5021

There are whole mountains of such J.K. (living stones) in Egypt... at construction sites.

Brenda

That's cool, but what are they building out of it????

Elizabeth1221

I wonder how one can take "building materials" out of there? Or will they need a receipt from the wholesale base? There must be a loophole... Our person can't just leave everything like that... It reminded me of "The Jokes of Our Town" on TV, when the "new Russian" was taking to Paris... Building a dacha...

John828

The jokes of our town are S.R.K. (dry reef stones) sold as L.K. (live stones).

Michelle1505

Such "LCDs" are sold at the Aquarium Center...

Cynthia

I would like to hear the arguments from the aquarium center. Essentially, it's a scam.

Joe

It would also be interesting to see a photo comment on the water transparency during class time from Vgreek.

Brandy

For the absence of ammonium flashes

Selena4467

It's unlikely that anyone will expect anything from C.A. Everyone knows them well, and the feedback isn't great; those who have been there once won't want to go back a second time.

Phillip9722

Transparency is excellent...cyan went...Ammonium 0.

Timothy

Ammonium has no source. The stones are practically sterile.

Jasmine

Max! Why should I be offended? Whether they are similar or not is a matter of perspective... as I understand it, the main question here is what exactly is J.K. (living stones) and how it is classified... P.S. Thank you for Ksyushka... she is very beautiful and pulsates fully ))))

Chelsea

I had the same issue; I bought an aquarium but was plagued by doubts that it wasn't exactly what I wanted. It looked like the photos, but there were no living creatures in it; I broke two stones into small pieces. The problem with such stones is that a terrible process of maturation and colonization begins, and the colonization happens very slowly. I didn't buy it from the central area; I got it from a seller T - the first time I bought some gorgeous stones, but the second time it didn't work out, or maybe we just didn't understand each other. I wanted premium quality; it wasn't about the price but the quality, and now I'm waiting and struggling with cyanobacteria again.

Wendy

If this is live rock (LR) that has been kept in an aquarium, then yes, there is no source for ammonia. However, if this is dry rock (DR) that has been soaked, it will still leach for a long time because there are organisms inside that have dried out and are now decomposing. Cyanobacteria and dinoflagellates during the startup phase are more or less normal until the biology stabilizes.

Robert

They resolved the situation... I received a lot of orders for J.K. (live stones) after the exhibition, and someone got my J.K. (live stones)... Meanwhile, I received S.R.K. (dry reef stones))) The management apologized and said we would make an exchange.

Lee

Off-topic, and how should we call all this now, dear ones, huh?

Joshua9340

Off-topic. Great excuse!!! Just awesome! No words...

Wanda666

What can you do?

Jessica8898

Off-topic, it's interesting how they will make the person who ordered S.R.K. (dry reef rocks) return J.K. (live rocks)? Someone was expecting a different answer.

John3335

Do you really believe that a mistake happened?!

Katie3017

Off-topic, of course, I believe, I am trusting, and the smiley at the end of what I wrote confirms that. I have placed an order with them twice, so "I certainly believe in it."

David4968

Off-topic: The target audience is a company - "ki", or a group of companies - "scammers"!

Andrea

Offtopic Tried to scam the newbie, the number didn't go through. Offtopic Glory, glory is running ahead.

James4757

I could be wrong, but how can dried organisms emit ammonia? They have already decomposed and dried out, and ammonia is the first stage of decomposition...

Cheryl9296

This is organic matter that starts to rot/decompose when it gets wet. It has simply dried out, a kind of preservation. It will begin to decompose after coming into contact with water.

Andrew419

Yes, I agree that it is true - settling in and adapting will take a long time, I now have troubles because of this, the Cyan is overwhelming, it's terrible. I'm afraid the system will crash --- Thank you very much for this, Reu...

Heather9815

I wonder if they will actually make the FAG or if it will be just "to talk."

Mark9853

Who are you expecting efforts from? Those who are "in the know" are "working hard."

Michael5242

In my opinion, there are only two types of stones! L.S. (live stones) and D.R.S. (dry reef stones) (once alive but dried out, losing 75% of their value). And then!!!!!! L.S. (live stones) is further divided into two types: good and bad, and F.A.G. should teach how to distinguish them. D.R.S. (dry reef stones) is divided into four types - W.D.R.S. (wet dry reef stone), M.D.R.S. (moistened dry reef stone), S.D.R.S. (soaked), and Y.D.R.S. (your option). Bring on F.A.G!!!

Brandi

I must be out of touch... I just can't understand what this so-called S.R.K. (dry reef stones) is for (also known as M.S.R.K. (dry reef stones), Z.S.R.K. (dry reef stones), P.S.R.K. (dry reef stones), etc.)?? To reduce the cost of my S.R.K. (dry reef stones) aquarium? I hope I won't have to remember the old, clichéd saying about the miser who always pays twice!

Johnny

Here, experienced sailors try to explain to beginners that this is how they deceive new sailors by selling them S.R.K. (dry reef stones) soaked for weight (the price is clear for the weight) and, in addition, sponta is J.K. (live stones). The class will pass, and if not, we will manage, and that's what the professional traders do.

Alec9378

I used dry rock to reduce the cost of the system, as many websites suggest it "comes to life" over time. I have seen descriptions of systems where live rock (LR) is in relation to dry rock (DR) from 10% to 50%. On foreign internet resources, dry rock (DR) is sold, and in the photos, there is something like a constructed layout made from it. But the price is 4-5-6-7 currency units per kg. I bought mine for 5. Right now, I have 8 kg of dry rock (DR) and 3.5 kg of live rock (LR) in my aquarium, and I will add a couple more of the latter.

Alyssa6727

It will also "come to life" over time. After all, it is quite porous! I believe that the problem with S.R.C. (dry reef rocks) is not that it is dry, but how it was dried. Are you sure that your S.R.C. (dry reef rocks) did not rot somewhere for a while before it was dried?

Melissa1838

In a marine aquarium, you can also keep guppies - they are fish too, and they swim as well. I have a 140-liter aquarium, and I will have 5 fish and 5 corals. With a limited budget, it's more important to me that they live well; I don't care whether the live rock at 5 USD/kg will survive or not. If it grows with coraline, that's enough for me. As mentioned before, I don't remember the exact topic, 90% won't know where the live rocks come from, from the top, bottom, side, and how long they traveled, not to mention the dry reef rocks. Therefore, I can't be sure about anything.

Sarah

Well, if you think that J.K. (live rocks) in the aquarium are just for decoration, then good luck!

Jennifer7159

I haven't come across live stones for 5 currency units per kg; I mentioned that I have both. Live stones don't need to be revived; they are already alive.

Amy

Well, not exactly like that. S.R.K. (dry reef stones), the one that is imported, is collected on the shore. There, due to storms, a sufficient amount accumulates (I've seen it myself). And it dries perfectly in the sun. It's a different story when someone tries to import J.K. (live stones), and as a result of various unforeseen issues like customs, a volcano in Iceland, or a blockage in the Suez Canal, etc., it arrives as "stale" - that's when all sorts of problems start.

Marie5735

That's exactly what it's about!

Darrell7542

Well, if this stone will make up 2% to 98% of good quality living stones, then yes. But if you load it in the opposite proportion, it will result in a so-called "false success"... and then, as a rule, the conclusion will be "...so that's why it didn't shoot - it wasn't loaded!..."

Joseph8842

The debate about what to put in an aquarium, in my opinion, is eternal. There are aquariums filled to the brim with live rocks, and some are even assembled based on them. There are plenty of successful examples in both cases, as well as failures. On Reef Central, oh my God, people put foam decorations in cement covers in their aquariums, and everything thrives beautifully. The problem lies not so much in classification as in the honesty of the seller. P.S. Well, when buying rock for $20 per kg, one can afford to spend another $20 to choose it themselves.

Christopher8654

+1.

Helen

I thought that the right to choose is provided "by default"!

Stephen

Is there already a store where you have to pay for the right to choose??? Name the seller!

Michelle1505

Most likely, spend 20 bucks on the road to choose the stone myself.

Rebecca1419

99% the author meant a trip to another city. Transportation costs.

Brandon4517

Of course, the trip.
