• Classification of live rocks for aquariums

"Premium" means of the best quality, i.e., maximum porosity plus the presence of various sponges, algae, tunicates, polyps, etc. This is how I understand the term. These stones definitely fit this term, it's even noticeable in the photo...

Daniel8015

Tolik, I understand all of this, but what is "maximum porosity"? How many pores per square centimeter qualifies as "premium"? Is 10 sponges on a stone "premium"? And what about nine? Either it's time to abandon this marketing epithet, or develop some standards (Personally, I lean towards the first).

Chris

here's something to compare it with!

Brent7831

Yarik, this "epithet," as you described it, is nothing more than a borrowed "concept" from commercial labels that shrewd merchants have stuck to a living stone and are now pressuring the minds of impressionable consumers... I’ve seen premium ketchup somewhere...

Barbara8192

I think the premium breaks only from the top of the reef - it is all riddled with little caves because the water washes through it well. And the main thing is that it is very light.

Daniel4967

A premium stone is one that has traveled well. If the stone has been stuck in planes and customs for days, regardless of its shape, porosity, or appearance, it is subpar. It will take at least another six months to acclimate in the aquarium. However, if it has arrived in good condition, the opened box smells like the sea, and the stone seems eager to escape the box, it is a "premium" stone. Thus, we have two types of stones in our market: "subpar" and "premium."

And if 2 months in a container... in heat and cold What should I call it???? I came up with Wet S.R.C. (dry reef rocks)

George5104

Where have you encountered THAT?

Lee

figure it out where.... you know the cost price of live stones with air transportation if a large batch of live stones appears on the market at cost price - it's not out of the seller's great kindness, but because the cost price of the container is different Then this batch spreads across the country and turns into premium live stones

Carrie1606

Off-topic, yes... it happened, a delivery with some... when I mentioned the stone on the forum, they promised to poke my eye out and buy a coffin for free... like "...we have a business here, and there's no need to mess it up."

Allison

Off-topic Yes, some people have "original" approaches to the concept of "premium." Oh, and there are plenty of dealers ready to spoil the air in the church for their money...

Tami

Off-topic. If they sold me such a stone... they wouldn't be able to sell anything else in their lives.

Natasha7622

Well, as usual, I ended up with a 5kg sample, and it ended up with me drying it out, brushing it off, and it sat in fresh water for 3 months. Now I'm thinking about what to do with it?

Tiffany5069

This is some kind of extremism. It should have been placed in a normal system; in 2-3 months it would have looked normal (indistinguishable from premium). The other question is that species diversity on it, of course, won't appear even after a year.

Lee425

what a normal system on a broken blue from rot and stuffed not perfume!!!)))))))))

Ryan1989

Well... if there is no holding pen, then of course it's cheaper to throw it away.

Karen

THE STONE IS NOT BAD!!! Is the question alive?

Scott8536

Only pisses and is deaf.

Samuel6138

Perhaps it was lying next to a live one... which was in a completely different aquarium... Most likely, it was gathering dust in the basement, under the shelf, at the hands of a shrewd dealer...

Kathy

What is there to guess?? Just look at it. If it's J.K. (living stones), you will definitely see some kind of creature!

Joseph591

S.R.C. (dry reef rocks). Although beautiful. No more than 4 USD per kilo. Off: Niches for fish seem good. For corals - it will not be easy to pave the front, species background (cliff). Such aeration is excessive.

Tiffany5069

Purchased in the Central Asia. And again - S.R.K. (dry reef stones), which may have rested for a couple of weeks with L.K. (live stones).

Erica

That's exactly it. 144 per kilo, Vgreek acquired their conscience for that.
