• Black Sea catfish

Hello everyone, let's say I know practically nothing about marine aquaristics. I would like to know who has experience keeping Black Sea catfish. I found a video on one website. In general, please share your experience on what is needed for this fish to live well at home. Thank you in advance.

Maybe it's worth starting to understand a bit about marine aquaristics and learning to keep at least a marine shrimp before tackling a spiny dogfish? Which is also listed in the Red Book. It's better to continue "professionally engaging in aquaristics, servicing various aquariums of different volumes, illuminated by different lights, maintaining different water temperatures for different fish, especially since there are more than 100 aquariums." And while taking a break from all this, it wouldn't hurt to browse through "Grammar of the Russian Language for Primary Classes."

There is nothing complicated, but the aquarium should be at least 1.5m x 1.5m or round, with a height of 60cm or more. I can give advice on the equipment, but the setup is not cheap.

I apologize for my grammar; I haven't paid attention to it for a long time since I have to write a lot in a day. I understand freshwater fish, but I've never dealt with marine ones. Could you please advise me on what is needed for such an aquarium? Of course, it doesn't have to be a catshark; they also keep reef sharks. Agree that a shark in an aquarium looks just great.

I am curious to know the name of the person who kept the catfish for more than 2 months.

Sharks need a spacious aquarium to swim in circles, as they only breathe while moving. A powerful protein skimmer and a drip filter are preferable on aragonite sand with current. Of course, it's better to keep reef sharks, but their cost ranges from 2000 to 5000 USD each. My favorite shark is the hammerhead, which is also the most expensive. You can buy sharks in eggs, and they hatch right in the aquarium.

I still haven't received an answer to who kept the catfish for more than two months? Some say it's elementary, where are the facts?

Employees of the aquarium of the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas, +, I think kept...

The Sevastopol aquarium cannot create optimal conditions for keeping spiny dogfish and all Black Sea fish. The thing is that all Black Sea fish are cold-loving, and in the summer, they all die off. For the past 5 years, the people of Sevastopol have been switching to the Amazon, while the Black Sea is being moved to more southern seas. The spiny dogfish is a viviparous shark, which does not lay eggs, and in the womb of the shark, the strongest pup eats the others, rarely more than two survive.

I don't see any problems with refrigerators and glass bags to prevent the windows from fogging up; it's just that no one needs it, it's easier to buy a tropical shark and it's cheaper to maintain. As for those who have kept a hammerhead shark, you pay for the project and give me the shark, and I will keep it for as long as needed.

Ha, where is he listed? If in the Black Sea these catfish are sold next to mullet, flounder, and pike perch in the fish market?

It's really nice to see such an approach; at the entrance to Crimea, they sell sturgeons and belugas, so does that exclude them from the Criminal Code? Or, for example, pandas that can be ordered and bought... clearly from poachers, or do you need more examples? Regarding the spiny dogfish and the overall approach of the comrade to the sea... what can I say, there are no words, and it's not the little shark that I feel sorry for, but the initiator himself... how do you imagine the pleasure of constantly dying hydrobionts while you're trying to understand something in the sea? P.S. No offense. P.P.S. And about the language... you should also brush up on Albanian... the style suffers.

The larger the volume, the better, preferably from three cubic meters, with high water quality and a temperature not exceeding +12°C, although it can temporarily tolerate +17°C with flow. At higher temperatures, the infection dies. Fishermen usually sell from 100 to 300 units, depending on the size of the tail, and it is advisable to take freshly caught spiny dogfish, for which you need to have an equipped motorboat. The most important thing is to carry out the transfer correctly, and for the aquarium, it is best to take juveniles no larger than 50-70 cm. They can be kept with any Black Sea fish that cannot fit in the spiny dogfish's mouth, and they look especially stunning together with Black Sea rays.

This is interesting!!! It's as if you understand something about freshwater!!!!
