• Sand replacement

If there is a possibility to relocate the animals for about two weeks, then it's better to change all the sand at once without dragging out the process. It's also a good idea to stock up on pumps with sponges to siphon off the detritus. A couple of fresh stones wouldn't hurt to speed up the substrate maturation. I once changed river sand to aragonite - what a hassle, but what can you do?

Mark

Why did you decide that? I have seen this substrate in aquariums - it's actually quite good... This is definitely better...

What are the issues with the sand? And how long has this soil been in place? Or do you just really want to change the soil?

Aaron

The thing is, the aquarium is almost a year old, and there is hardly any sign of substrate colonization. Occasionally, you might see a small worm, and that's it. Or am I missing something? Another reason is that my substrate looks too artificial – large round grains of sand. And, in my opinion, there is too much of it.

Vanessa

it sours.

Good afternoon! Sorry for the silence – the Internet is temporarily available only during the day. Thank you very much for your detailed response. I decided to change the soil completely.

I didn't understand, is someone living in your soil????

Natasha

What surprises you? This is a maritime forum.
