I bought an aquarium for my child and decided it would be a marine one. Overall, everything is great, but there is one inconvenience: it makes too much noise. Most of the noise comes from the lower "aquarium" where the protein skimmer and the pump that circulates water are located. The pumps themselves are not noisy, but somehow they transmit their vibrations to the stand. The return pump is a MiniJang 4500, and the skimmer is a Varine Sources. Do you have any ideas on how to eliminate this vibration? The lower "aquarium" is sitting on foam, and both the pump and the skimmer are on a mat.

Here is the approach to the matter "BOUGHT IT, THEN DECIDED" Try soundproofing the entire cabinet from the inside.

I did this first, then I installed the pump on the foam, got rid of the sloshing water, but it feels like the cabinet itself is vibrating and creating a hum in the surroundings.

What is the cabinet made of and on what type of floor is it standing? Check with a level how it is positioned.
