You can certainly request a quality certificate and the results of laboratory tests from the seller, but it's better to take some standard aquarium tests yourself. If the results show that the water is suitable for your purposes, then feel free to use it.

I also heard that this water is just dead! And it's not suitable for an aquarium since it doesn't contain any beneficial bacteria! But that's just what they say... I don't know. What can you say about this?
And if possible, one more question: How to arrange live rocks so that they don't collapse later? Maybe they are somehow secured?

That's why it is dead, because it was processed at the plant through the osmotic installation. On the "Old Mirgorod" bottle, it is written that the water has been passed through reverse osmosis. After the water passes through the membrane, there is NOTHING left in it except water molecules. If more complex molecules do not pass through, then how can much larger bacteria pass through it? In fact, you will get DISTILLATE after processing.

Well, bacteria are a matter of profit.

Well, the bacteria that live in fresh water are not suitable for the sea. And dead water is not because it lacks bacteria, but because liquid water does not represent a molecule H2O; it is a rather complex structure made up of several such molecules "stuck together," and this structure is disrupted, let's say during boiling, and possibly during osmosis treatment. But this is not scary at all; after a short settling period and other manipulations, everything returns to how it was.

Thank you all for responding to my message! I understand everything.............thank you!

I use this kind of water in my aquarium (there's simply no other option). I haven't tested it, as it turned out to be problematic to get tests here as well. Everything is fine, but the balance takes a long time to establish, and based on my subjective feelings, I prefer not to change it very often (even less than once a week). Mostly, I just try to top it up instead of replacing the evaporated water. And it's precisely because I feel that the water is dead (although I have the impression that it's not dead, but empty).

The main problem is not the chemical composition or the bacteria. Water dissolves a multitude of substances, and while minerals and salts can be added artificially and immediately, gases take much longer to dissolve. This is why water can be considered dead, but not hopeless. The quality of bottled water is approximately the same across all manufacturers, and due to the purification process, there is no point in using water from deep wells, as everything is removed. The situation is different with mineral waters - the deeper the source, the higher the mineralization, and the more interesting the composition. However, such water should not be used in aquariums.

Favorite, where do you live in Mykolaiv? I'm originally from there! I visit about once a year! I would like to see your aquarium business...

This is the first time I've heard such a ridiculous version. And it's not much better.

After the water is treated with osmosis, mineral salts are added to improve its taste. My acquaintances keep an aquarium with this water. The fish and plants feel great, and the parameters in the aquarium are all normal. They also add this water to the sea without any problems; the sea has been stable for 5 years. The reef is amazing. That's it.

The store at 140 Lenin Avenue, drop by when you arrive.
