• Launch of the sea at 150 liters

  • Stephanie9175

Hello! I started the sea. Two pumps of 600 l/h, Resun skimmer on a compressor, DSB - substrate of crushed shell, river sand, and Reef Base Red Sea (I shouldn't have added it). There is no light in the sump - 3 T5, 2 actinics, and 1 power glo. I currently have 5 kg of rocks. The water is osmosis. Salt is Instant Ocean. There were 2 a and 3 feather worms in the rocks. It's already the 8th day. Photos in the gallery...

Congratulations on your venture. Could you please elaborate on what specifically you found unsatisfactory about the Red Sea soil?

It's cool, but somehow it feels empty; it would be nice to add some stones there.

And also, raise the water level in the skimmer a bit so that the bubbles burst in the tube for foam formation.

my congratulations - but I don't understand the point of creating a DSB in 150 liters - it's very risky to go through maturation in this volume, - it's easier to change the water regularly, don't be stingy on rocks - add as many rocks again *3, and then you can start figuring out who to introduce there

Thank you for the feedback! To: In my opinion, the REd Sea substrate is VERY coarse - here's a photo of a worm stuck in the substrate - To Sasha: - it was the first day of the launch, the foam wasn't coming out at all - now it's flowing very strongly I will go on Saturday for the next batch of rocks, and then in a month another 5 kg. So on Monday, I will post a more decent (I hope) view of the aquarium. The crab is nibbling on the coral algae - what to do, soak it? Although it's a shame...
