• Launch of the filter - who and how was it launched?

I am interested in starting the filter after it has been clogged with ceramics, etc., specifically the moment of "feeding" the bacteria and checking its functionality without fish, as well as checking the filter's ability to "consume" nitrates and nitrites. If anyone has done this, please describe the steps in detail, if possible by days, that is, step by step.

Who told you that such a filter would consume nitrates? On the contrary, it will produce them. Live rock is the perfect filter for a marine aquarium.

Oh! So this is a marine forum... You can start with mollies as the initial fish. Deakin writes that black ones are better - they adapt better to saltwater. Although on the forum, they say that you can use others as well. Or add ammonia. But generally, it is believed that a canister filter is a "nitrate factory."

Yes, also, I think I'll make the first cell a wet-dry, meaning water will be drained from it every 15 minutes. On June 20, I released 1 guppy.
