• Aquamir - how is that possible?

Friends! Through the VAA partnership program, you can buy this wonder at a discount: I have a question - how does a completely closed ecosystem support the life of shrimp? We are running around with feeds, buckets, filters - and here you have it, a full automation! Esteemed gurus! Explain it to the clueless! They say this thing lives for at least 3 years... Has anyone used this marvel?

At the very least, a specific light regime is needed to maintain the algae culture in this Aquamir. Otherwise, everything will die off pretty quickly, as far as I understand. You can also create such an automatic system yourself. I have an acquaintance who is an aquarist. Once, quite by accident, he ended up in prison for several years. He got out a little earlier, after six months. No one took care of the aquarium during that time. Light from the window fell on the aquarium. And that was enough for three panaques and a Pterophyllum to survive the entire six months without any issues. So, there’s nothing particularly surprising about it, but it’s still cool.

And how much does such a thing cost?

This is a closed system. - He was right, without light it will die in 10 days - light is needed for the growth of algae, which produce oxygen and serve as food for the shrimp. But the shrimp behave amusingly - and it's interesting to watch them.

I think that for such money, it is possible.

In Moscow, I saw such a wonder that has been standing for about a year - a swamp, in a word. But there is a discount - you hand in your old "ball" and they sell you a new one for half price. And the photos are very colorful; in reality, everything looks a bit worse.

Correctly - the lighting should be no more than 8 hours!!! If it's more - like in normal aquariums - it will bloom! Anyone interested can come in and see how dull everything is -

So how much does it actually cost?
