Hello Sailors, please help me with advice, I'm going crazy trying to decide. Which glass should I choose for my "aquarium"? There are 2 options: No 1 Ultra-clear glass. No 2 Regular silicate glass. (For your information, the aquarium dimensions are 1000x550x600 with a glass thickness of 12mm, without braces or supports) A question for all knowledgeable people: is it worth paying three times more? Is the effect noticeable, or is it just the edge of the glass that is lighter? After all, it's a display (that's the foundation), help me create beauty!!!

It's worth it!!!

What is wrong with m1 or m0?

If finances allow, then it is definitely worth it. The difference is noticeable even on glass that is twice as thin.

I understand this is glass labeling, I will study it!! The master says that ultra-clear glass is more susceptible to scratches, in my opinion, this is one drawback I have discovered so far (besides the price).

Today I went to a pet store and asked if they had aquariums with ultra-clear glass; they almost kicked me out of the store. I understand that looking for such aquariums in regular pet stores is a waste of time. ___ Tomorrow I will go to the office of a company that deals with glass cutting; they said they have samples from different manufacturers in stock. I will be comparing! Of course, I am also leaning towards ultra-clear glass, but I have doubts about whether this glass differs in color transmission or just in that the edge is light instead of greenish.

Life hack - make only the front windshield ultra-transparent, the rest from regular glass.

There is a difference. On 5 mm thick glass, it is not super huge, but it exists (I personally have 2 aquariums with such glass). On 8-10-12 mm glass, the difference is more significant. You will only notice the difference when you fill the aquarium with water; in an empty aquarium, the difference is unlikely to be noticeable. Also, ultra-clear glass scratches much more easily, at least in my experience.

I had 2 aquariums of almost the same size. Collars and Nature. Optiwhite and regular glass. The difference is HUGE!!! And for the softer one... just clean it with acrylic scrapers, no blades. And you will be happy!!!

It is true that scratches should be handled very carefully. In my aquarium, the front glass is optiwhite, while the other walls are regular. I scratched the front glass, and not just in one place. I don't know if it was from a blade or if a grain of sand got into the scraper. I cleaned the side walls the same way, and there isn't a single scratch on them.

If possible, it's better to have ultra-transparent. The difference compared to regular is noticeable. I clean the glass with a plastic card, there are no scratches.

Thank you all. I ordered OptiWhite.
