Once brought from Sri Lanka... identified as Halimeda. That's what it's called, I think... it really depletes calcium in the aquarium. That's why it's not recommended to keep it.

But I like it, such a rich green... with the presence of CO2, it can be kept. In my opinion, it's a very beautiful algae.

The name of the algae is Halimeda discoidea.
I agree with the comments below regarding maintaining a high level of calcium, but keep in mind that you also need to keep the KH at a level no lower than 8. The plant itself can serve as a so-called indicator of the reef system's condition - if it grows well, then the reef should be doing well too (you can save on tests).

I used to have a plant like that, it would grow, turn white, and then grow back again. I weeded it down to the ground, and after 2-3 months it started to come up again.
