The situation is simple: I'm tired of saving the test (KH)! Since I have a bit of understanding of how things work, I made the test using a well-known recipe from the internet (similar to Salifert). By the way, it turned out to be A LOT. I compared it with the Tropic Marin test, and everything matches (but that's a drop test), and its accuracy is lacking. I would really like to double-check it with the "original" Salifert. So, is there anyone from Kyiv who has a Salifert test and is willing to verify mine? If the result is positive (I have no doubts, but just for peace of mind), I'm ready to pour a bit of the test... (similar to a couple of Salifert kits). Thank you in advance!

Jeanne

If you followed the recipe exactly, then it matches. I mixed something like that and tested it on salifert.

Yes, that's true, but I haven't seen the test in person (I have doubts about the ratios of the indicators), since I bought 1 gram, I added a bit more of one and a little less of the other. The color changes during titration is not very sharp, although it is quite noticeable (which is logical given the range of pH transition), the color transitions through a purplish hue. Is it the same in salisferte? I also wanted to compare the colors before and after titration to determine the optical density of the mixture of indicators. And also, methyl red dissolves very slowly.

The Tropic Marin showed me 6 a & "my" 5.8. I also bought chemicals for balling. Now I'm ready to pour it in by the liters.

tests at worst - classic - hydrochloric acid and methyl orange. (still tests for alkalinity, not for real carbonates). in any market or store, there are fixatives of hydrochloric acid, methyl orange is really cheap, there are plenty of burettes in medical technology.. is it worth stressing out this much.. it can be done without methyl orange.. with a pH controller and a remote electrode.. But with magnesium - it's really inconvenient to deal with it myself!

You are wrong, look at the pH transition of methyl orange! You are not titrating anything there... I was just checking the test with a pH electrode to compare color changes and see how the pH behaves, and to determine the EXACT shade of the indicator when passing through the required pH. I overdid it, so to speak.

Lisa

I can give you a sample of Salifetov's if that's the question.

Thank you! I checked on the pH electrode, it's more accurate. And Kharkiv is not that close either.

It's worth sending the NP, just 20 minutes of work.

Yes, it's worth the money! I only needed one measurement! I thought maybe someone would drop by with a coffee test... Thank you so much. Now I have a lot of tests myself.

I'm not doing this out of malice!! (I admit, I can't write well). Maybe I really didn't get something, but on the contrary - I'm very glad to have a conversation with you! There aren't many people here who even try to understand anything in general; mostly, everyone just does "what everyone else does," without thinking about the mechanisms of the universe. I didn't mean to offend or troll in any way! Especially since you are an inquisitive and thoughtful person. I sincerely apologize if I upset you in any way. I would love to drop by with some tests, but it's a bit inconvenient, unfortunately, it's over 700 km from me - that's already quite a distance. And then there's the same amount back...

I received the test. I printed the instructions. I tried it. Everything is clear and visual. Thank you!
