Angela

Could you please tell me if you consider it possible to use only zeolite + bacteria + feed for them, without any other additives? Also, I heard either from you or your colleague that it is possible to leave the ZEOvit® system at any time, but returning will be impossible. However, the instructions do mention starting the ZEOvit® system in an existing aquarium, and returning and starting the system in an existing aquarium is essentially the same thing. So why can't one return?

Melissa1838

A little video of aquariums on the ZEOvit® system

Teresa

It seems that we are removing everything and only adding what is necessary. Or am I mistaken?

James

Yes, regarding biogenic substances.

Guy

Denis, what is coal used for, doesn't zeolite serve the same function? Is a smoother transition to Zeovit possible for a recently launched maturing aquarium (less than a month), and what needs to be done for that? The aquarium in my topic: It has no fish, just a few corals and cleaners. I understand that macroalgae should be removed, as well as the debris from the sump.

Gregory

Just in case, I calculated the net volume of water to be 410 liters, which is almost exactly 100 gallons = 1 liter of zeolite, 60% during the first application.

Noah1632

Coal absorbs some proteins (similar to a protein separator) as well as toxins released by corals. If the aquarium is newly set up and there are no invertebrates, there is no problem switching to the Zeovit system. In your case, soft corals may experience a bit of stress, but I don't think anything will happen to them.

Lee425

If start Up is used at the beginning, can the Zeovit startup phase be skipped and later use KZ additives?

Heather

Of course, you can! As an example, we use KZ additives in our aquariums that do not have the ZEOvit system.

Kendra2262

Is there some kind of system, or is everything determined by the overall condition?

Hunter1471

This is during the startup, but how often do you change the zeolite afterwards? Once a month, every two months?

Johnny

Every two months...

Melissa3200

Coal should not be mixed with zeolite. Change zeolite every two months, and coal every month. The flow rate through 1 liter of coal should be around 200-300 liters per hour. Zeostart 2 is an old product that has been replaced by the improved Zeostart 3. After two weeks. There will definitely be a continuation.... In the first month after installing the Zeovit system, no additives (except for those used during the startup) will be needed. In the future, it will be necessary to add a feed base with macro and microelements; what exactly, in what quantity, and how often will depend on the aquarium's filling.

Melissa2062

I want to annoy you It can be done without a stone. Conditioned by the nitrogen cycle that hasn't started. Maybe nothing will happen, or maybe death. You can pour the tank and food, or you can choose not to, depending on your mood, but it's better to pour until it runs out... it won't get worse. You can buy it, or you can choose not to buy it. Nothing will happen. Zeolite is not necessary. Please.

Jason

You won't reach me, so don't try. Just answer: it can be poured or not poured - I'm not satisfied with that. Here's the answer: if it's poured, then it will be this and that, and if not poured, then it will be this and that. And if you add this, it will be amazing! If you stop pouring, you'll get this... And if you mix KZ with something else, it will be this... For me, this launch is new, and I'm trying to weigh all the pros and cons, especially regarding the large aquarium.

Jesse3979

It is possible, but it is necessary to add fresh stone, preferably not overexposed.

Alyssa6727

While I'm thinking about it... I might invest in a few live rocks... I just reread all the instructions and came to the conclusion that I reinforced the starter kit, so I'm clarifying... What do you think about these additives: Spurenelemente Komplex, Amino Acid Concentrate, Coral Snow??? What are the reviews? Because when I read about them, it seemed almost like heavenly manna. Off-topic, I'm now in the third hour of catching a spiny fish.

Amy5468

Denis, I just started and have a few more questions: 1. How long should we stick to the 3 hours on / 3 hours off mode? 2. Zeolites of 3 different fractions, part of the finest inevitably spills between the piston and the glass at the bottom of the filter, is this a problem?

Alan273

The mode is 3 hours on / 3 hours off for a total of 3 days, then continuously. The piston should have small holes; if it spills, it's not a big deal.

Jacob4800

Updated dosage table KZ. The dosage of some components may be optional "*" and is not mandatory. Suitable for systems with and without Zeolites.

Charles894

I ordered about 1/5 or 1/6 of this list, and it already came to 123 euros, which should last for about 2-3 months...

Kimberly3727

The faces of the fish all express something in this picture)) But, as I understand, for the first 2-3 months, almost nothing from this list is needed except for Zeobak. I'm curious how to determine later when it's time to start feeding..

Jacqueline5976

Max, why were the days and components changed... Did you come to some conclusion with experience? Please share...

Rodney7316

Why pour Zeobak if live rocks must be present in the system anyway, since live rocks already contain plenty of this and food for it as well?

Patrick4439

So it's regular food for corals? Have you looked at it under a microscope? If so, what living things can be seen there?

Marie5348

After my previous response, I no longer know what else can be added. Try reading it a few more times. Products of questionable quality should be examined under a microscope, but this product raises no doubts, as evidenced by the huge number of beautiful aquariums.

Jeremy

Offtopic Denis, sorry for the interruption, please clean up your inbox. I can't send a message.

Teresa

Indeed, there is no precise recommendation for each component in Zyucht. Therefore, after 2 years of use, I created this table along with the optimal needs for corals and financial capabilities. The dosage of some components may be optional "*", and while it is not mandatory, it is desirable to apply them. Suitable for systems with and without zeolites.

Nicholas

Max or Denis, do you have any data on how a protein skimmer and the system usually behave when switching to Zeovit? I am experiencing a real reset (I am only dosing Zeobak, 12 drops for 400 liters), the most illuminated rocks have turned green with a lot of filamentous algae and bryopsis, there is a brown film on the sand, and a bunch of tiny crustaceans and worms have appeared. The skimmer produced a lot in the first 2 days after installing the zeolite reactor and adding sand, but now it is skimming weakly and producing light foam. How normal is this? On the 10th day, I plan to add a radical algae eater (Hepatus or Foxface).

Anna9752

The instructions and description clearly state that if such nonsense occurs, you should pause and reduce the dosage.

Alexandra

I will read it again, but it seems that another situation was mentioned there.

Stephanie3084

I reread it but didn't find anything. It mentions that Zeostart and Zeofood can provoke the formation of bacterial films, but that's a completely different matter. Besides, I'm currently only using Zeobak, as Denis recommended. It's worth mentioning that Denis's recommendations differ somewhat from the official version, where Zeostart and Zeofood are dosed alongside Zeobak, which is what I'm following. It only states that an overdose of Zeobak can cause tissue darkening in corals, but the few corals I had at the start all look quite good; I only shaded 2 frags of Montipora, as they are the most susceptible to lower light conditions.

Linda

Bohnenka, read poorly. Zeofood is not used at all at the start. Reduce the drops of Zeobak to 2 drops. A brown film on the sand and rocks is normal, but threads and bryopsis are not. I had the film until the 13th day, then it suddenly disappeared. The foam was also weak until I added the fish.

Thomas1044

Okay, thank you, I'll try to reduce it. It's easy to get confused; I read the version zeoguide_12_8_russian.pdf that I downloaded from the KZ website, it is used there. Here is also a paragraph at the very beginning of this topic:

Jasmine

Read here, more briefly and clearly:

Rebecca1419

Good article, and most importantly, in Russian!

Cheryl9296

This is interesting, an excerpt from the instructions - Do not use live sand with the ZEOvit ® system. ???

Kevin262

This refers to the DSB!!! Specifically, a layer of sand more than 5 cm, preferably 2-4 cm.

Joshua3019

I would add that they recommend a fraction of 2-4mm...

Dana6523

Maks, should K-Bce be dosed like B-Bce twice a week?

Beth3383

Yes. I only pour half the recommended dose.

Frank7213

Maks, greetings, do you not pour ZEOstar3 at all? And which other ones do you not drip constantly?

Jason9952

ZEOstar3 was only poured at the start, and since the bottle is large, it was dripped twice a week until it ran out.

Rodney7316

Question: Should we also take corals "from Zeovit"? Since in an established system, SPS that are not used to low biogenic environments will start to decline (according to the description of the Zeo system rules) - "loss of tissue, starting from the tips of the corals, or complete loss of all tissue within a short period of time (i.e., rapid tissue necrosis - RTN). This problem usually arises with rapid changes in biogenic conditions in the aquarium. As mentioned above, corals need time to adapt to changes." So it seems impossible to acquire corals from private sellers; they should be taken from a "store."

Paul

In practice, I can say everything is fine. Corals adapt. Corals are affected in such cases: 1. When zeolites are not shaken for a week, then return to the usual daily routine. 2. When the amount of zeolites is incorrectly calculated. 3. Incorrect zeolite replacement schedule. 4. Incorrect flow adjustment through the zeolite reactor. I haven't noticed any other problems so far. I won't list the advantages - there are many.

Jason

Oh, thank you for the response. Just a small question. How is that? It can be changed immediately and in a timely manner, according to the rule. Or is there something else? And can a system be made under the LEDs? Or a rule is a rule.

Nicole2404

Korallenzucht recommends using T5, but the choice of lighting for corals is up to you. The results you achieve under the lights depend on many factors. Zeolites can be changed immediately and in a timely manner, or you can forget about them and change them a month later.

Jessica

If I have an established aquarium that has been running for about a year, should I try using Zeobak? If so, what are the benefits, will it have any noticeable effects on the corals, and is it possible to overdose, and how does that affect the corals?
