Thank you, I have already read this article. But it was written back in 2004. I am sure that a lot has changed since then (equipment, etc.). I would like to hear advice from experienced aquarists.

Well, if you are sure about that, then what else can I suggest to you? P.S. If you had scrolled to the end of the topic, you would have seen that it is still being discussed to this day.

Michael

Exactly! The last entry is August 2012.

The essence of the experiment, which began in 2004, was how to maintain a real marine aquarium with minimal equipment, a small volume of water, and maintenance consisting of a weekly 30% water change. And without tests. And practically without knowledge. So that the sea would be accessible to a "schoolboy or housewife." I repeat - minimal. If you wish, you can stuff in a bunch of equipment. Buy an aquarium with a sump, install a skimmer, add carbon, and phosphate remover, and set up a refugium. But that would be a different story. A more complicated one.

Why are you so categorical about factory aquariums, considering what you want to keep? I started with an Aquael NanoRiff 30 and believe it has a quite decent setup for a first marine tank. There is enough light, and I added moonlight by installing LEDs in the fixture.

I have a 130-liter aquarium. I added 2 lamps and voilà! A great aquarium!

I agree with you, but we are talking about 20-30 liters.

sorry, then here it is:
