Who can help check the accuracy of the refractometer in Kharkiv?

Caroline1599

I did it more simply and it seems more accurate - wash the glass shot glass and wipe it well inside with a napkin until it's perfect - turn the shot glass over the spout of a boiling kettle to collect the condensate - it will equal TDS=0, which corresponds to Salt and impurity holes =0 - calibrate the refractometer to a reading of =0 with the condensate.

It turned out that calibrating by osmosis... to the distiller... is incorrect. The discrepancy on my refractometer is 4 units! I calibrated with a purchased calibration solution. There is no desire to say anything, everyone draws their own conclusions...

Yes, I also... mentioned... talked about my option and not about osmosis or distillers... I even bought ampoules of pharmacy water for injections (what we are injecting... I shuddered) and I also fell for this, but at three degrees - I was talking about a specific distillate here and now from the kettle and immediately, as I compared such calibration with a hygrometer (Sera) and precise salt proportions by weight - the error was 0.5 degrees (in the positive).

Yesterday I tried the kettle and glass method, and there was a question regarding the temperature; the calibration instructions state 20 degrees.

Are we talking about the refractometer? A drop on the lens glass takes the temperature of the refractometer body, or you need to go to a separate room where it's +20°C.
