1. Little, very little. I would advise you to go for a larger volume. Or just abandon this idea altogether. Although there are enthusiasts of marine aquaristics with small tanks on the forum, and some of them are quite good, almost all of them are ultimately aiming for a larger volume; only in a large volume can you see all the beauty of the sea.
2. Who told you that you need to forget about it? That's incorrect information.
3. You can buy live rocks from...
4. You can create a normal reef without colossal expenses. However, you will definitely have to spend some money. By the way, there are marine aquaristics enthusiasts in Dnipro; find out their contact details, I hope they won't overlook you.

It is possible that the topic starter will also switch to a larger volume, but to be fair, it should be noted that there are quite a few 10-20 liter marine miniatures available.
Don't forget, or stop counting after the first day.

Listen, it's a pity I didn't go to him before starting up - I would have set up 100+ liters and a sump right away. It's not much more expensive, but it would save a lot of headaches and add space + stability to the system. That's why I'm not cramming the aquarium right now - I'm saving for a larger volume. I went to the sea, and by mistake, they poured water with a TDS of about 35 into my 45-liter tank. Luckily, the aquarium isn't just one month old. Everything is alive, of course, but the glass has gotten really overgrown. You can manage with smaller tanks, but in my opinion, there are always more hassles than with a big aquarium.

The proposed 100 liters is a simple Chinese DMS500PL (90L). It's the same mini. It has the same problems as the mini-reef. At least set it to 250-300 liters...

When immediately advising on a relatively large volume, one aspect is often overlooked. If the sea is the first experience, so to speak, then the option of "it didn't work out," "I didn't like it," "it's not for me," etc., is quite likely. And if you look at it from this perspective, investing a decent amount of money and then putting everything up for sale after a couple of months, losing perhaps 50%, is not the best option.
Moreover, not everyone will dare to set up a large aquarium in their apartment, and there can be many other reasons to opt for a smaller aquarium.
P.S. Please do not throw shoes.

And usually, people get burned on miniatures - because everything is much more complicated in maintenance there, and skills are needed from an experienced sailor.
Personally, I believe that "whoever started with miniatures and achieved success is already a Master."
Here, with normal volumes, it takes time to absorb how, where, and why, and the main thing is that time passes, and there are many bumps, while in a bucket of water, all the negativity happens in minutes - and suddenly... "I don't like the sea."
Mitchell7972
I agree with every word. But I was not only talking about the complexity of maintenance, but also about the overall satisfaction with the end result, like "there's a good sea, but it's not for me." In general, there are many opinions on this, and everyone is right in some way.

If it were all about service - my family lost three months from the launch of my sea - I lived there like Ichthyander. I helped the first strumbuses to get on the keel if they fell and showed them where there was plenty of food.
There is a great danger of ruining this business due to inexperience and concluding that it doesn't work because it didn't succeed.
P.S. Medium-sized seas sell easily and quickly without a 50% loss - if you don't rush, you can even make a profit.
P.P.S. I rushed - I posted an ad on Friday evening - by Tuesday, 70% were sold and 30% were reserved - I heavily undercut prices - I gave away a lot - I lost a thousand. I could have sold three, but they took 2000.

About light:
a. - it depends on the height of the aquarium - 30 cm. a candle can illuminate it;
b. - for a fish tank, light is also somewhat parallel;
About filtration:
a. - the main filtration for a marine aquarium is denitrification; you can use foam or use AF or sulfur and algae;
b. - mechanical filtration is generally a trivial matter;

on lighting:
What spectrum is needed? And which lamps or ready-made fixtures are usually popular and available?
on filtration:
What is the most economical and effective option for 100 liters?
Amanda
Sun-Sun in Arovana is full of T5x4 lamps - two white, two actinics - cheap and cheerful. Aerobic by system -
James8887
The thing is that in absolutely every topic about seas, these two questions are addressed, and the discussion of "why this and not that" usually stretches for a minimum of 2-3 pages...
Light: from 10k Kelvin (white) to 20k Kelvin, plus blue.
Filtration: it depends on what you have: a skimmer suitable for your volume, a refugium, algae scrubber, etc. How to do it is a matter of finances and skills. Everyone has different setups.

Can you provide a direct link to the specific post? I'm completely lost there...

That is, there are no simple and reliable recommendations for beginners, and there cannot be?
Thomas5021
You still don't seem to understand me? I wrote everything in simple accessible language, so please pay attention to what I said. So here it is.
And here is a very interesting topic.
At least read this, and it will be the first step to the beginning.
Jeanne
I would recommend taking any topic about launching a successful marine aquarium of the appropriate size and reading it. Half of the questions will be eliminated right away, from the remaining clarifications, half can be asked to the author, and the remaining 25% will be interesting to everyone.

... We wait another month and a half, and we can plant simple corals.
... In another three months, we can introduce the first fish.
The only things that can be introduced right away are snails and shrimp like Palemon.
Vanessa6144
Hmm... now I can clearly see that I don't want the sea...
Chris
The right solution, and most importantly, quickly.

I also started the sea 1.5 months ago, 128 liters (BOYU TL-550), and so far it has produced more than 9,000 grams.
Tammy
I really don't want the sea anymore! "It turned out to be more than 9 thousand hryvnias" - oh my!
Heather6148
Well, let's stop further discussions in someone else's topic with you. The topic was created.
