That's what I thought when I started. I tried all sorts of schemes. In the end, I managed to create a more or less safe overflow, BUT the risk of air getting in was still there. Now I've moved to a 500-liter setup and made the siphon properly. My good advice to you is to drill the bottom and make a siphon.

The video is informative, but if you are starting from scratch, my advice is to drill holes wherever you like, either in the bottom of the aquarium or on the side. Personally, I tend to make a hole at 3/4 in the bottom of the aquarium and glue a small shaft. You can check out my topic. There are many other interesting topics about this, and they are written in more detail than mine.

Regarding the video topic - after wiping with alcohol, it is not advisable to touch with hands (to avoid getting it dirty again).
