• There will be an aquarium in Kyiv!

  • Cynthia

So, it won't be long to wait... 60 million at stake, and an aquarium, here you go... I can already anticipate the excitement ahead.

Larry9400

Not for long????!!!!

Jessica6754

Cool, I can't wait to see it. By the way, I remember there was an aquarium on water (I think last year) that was built, if I'm not mistaken, in Odessa, and it was moving up the Dnieper, stopping in every major city. But I never got to visit it; has anyone been there? They said it was the largest aquarium on water in Europe. What is its future, where is it now? If it's in the capital, I would love to go.

John5528

In 2014, supposedly, "welcome," which is not long by today's standards... Well, the oceanarium, which is also a reef aquarium, must definitely present itself to the audience... That's why Ai Rifu, TsA, Tkachu, and others will have more work to do...

Anne4851

Yes, there is such a thing. I think it's currently on our radar. I just haven't been there. They say there's nothing to see, just a bunch of nonsense. Although it's better to see it once...

Chris

God grant that the idea is brought to fruition, otherwise you know how things go with us. Like in the joke: Officials even when giving alms hope for a kickback. So they will sort everything out...

Luis3725

And even when an empty plate is placed in the serving window...

Cassandra1840

Well, this is not the first one - they have been building it on Lybidska for a while now - it seems they will open it in the fall.

Jacob4800

My first and last visit was last year in early autumn, which can be called a swamparium. In short, I was in shock; there are no more words needed. The people who initiated all this either brought it to complete failure out of stinginess or are simply very far from understanding, both in knowledge and experience, and in the elementary understanding of what the sea is. God grant that in Kyiv they approach this matter meticulously and that it is not done by random people (cheaper and faster), but by those who know what they are doing.

Rachel

And in the first lines - a shark! A lure... A detective series...

Brandy

The more contractors there are, the less likely it is to achieve a quality, logical completion of the project.

Jessica6754

I heard that Yanovsky is helping with something there.

Andrew7823

It's a pity, everything started so beautifully, they promoted it well and the idea is generally good, but now there's such a mess... So, is the only place where you can see more or less decent marine aquariums in Sevastopol?

Scott8536

Judging by the photo, it looks like you really went for it, well well...

Caroline1599

No, we are not at that age to be naive... believe me, we see all this "kitchen" everywhere, and we completely agree with you. The ways to deceive the people here are such that Mr. Bender would probably have burst with envy back in '91. Just the songs about vouchers were worth it!

Jenny

I agree 100%. Now there are fewer animals in the zoo and more attractions. People spend money on tickets and ice cream for the kids, but they have to shell out every penny from their wallets for various children's entertainments. Where seals used to swim during the USSR, there are now carp. Just recently, there were moray eels and rays, but now in their place, there are blind fish. There’s hardly anything left of the spiders... and so on... Soon, the only things to see will be carp and pigs with rabbits. Well... and there will be even more attractions. And if anyone wants to admire wild animals, there are sculptures for that.

Andrea8397

Kovalskaya is being built - and it seems to be at a decent pace.

David3217

It's better to be naive and believe in the good than to feed yourself with... thoughts.

Brian7092

If the aquarium is private, then it may well be...

Richard

Perhaps. In my opinion, the sooner we stop indulging ourselves in illusory concepts of good and justice (which simply do not exist in nature and are, in fact, the product of hypertrophied human idealism) and start being realists, the sooner order and stability will come to our country.

Jennifer

New bears have been brought to the Kyiv Zoo in a new enclosure, and the elephant is being adapted. Why invest such money if the plans are to dismantle it?

Stephanie9175

A private one is when it is built by a private individual with the aim of making a profit, rather than gaining the respect of the public. There are private zoos and similar establishments... So why not have an oceanarium?

Stephanie4990

Money is not invested like that, but laundered.

Noah1632

What difference does it make?! The money is still government funds. And the territory will be developed later by private companies anyway. Therefore, all these imports of new animals are nothing more than "smoke and mirrors" for the public, aimed at distracting them from the real state of affairs. I'm curious: does anyone seriously believe that the land of the Kyiv zoo won't eventually be "muddied" for development?!

Brenda

Isn't there plenty of land nearby? Look at the park across the road. And at the site of the zoo, an amusement complex is being developed.

Linda

Don't worry. The KPI park will also not be left unattended. It's just that no one will touch KPI for now (because there are a lot of students there who might protest if anything happens. And no one wants that before the elections.). But eventually, it will come to them as well. Once they have mastered the territory of the zoo and the Lukyanivska prison (the relocation of the last two institutions won't cause as much of a resonance as the departure of KPI from its original territories...).

Helen

I cannot help but agree with you.

Danielle8118

I understand and support you. I cannot calmly see paid beaches, closed recreation areas taken from "ordinary citizens," entire hectares of forests cut down for cottages, planted back in the days of the tsar (who was terrible), high fences of 3 meters behind which there is "communism." There are properties where people are forbidden to enter, and for violations, they can be shot like a dog. People are trying to protest, knocking down fences, chaining themselves to trees, etc.... there will come a time when their patience will run out.

Debbie3587

This is exactly why our mentality is so flawed.

Lauren

I see everyone here is so grown-up and understands about cuts, but I still want little animals like in childhood.

David3217

They say that in Askania Nova there are many animals kept in natural conditions, rather than in cramped cages and glass aquariums where their tails and heads press against the side walls.

Omar3497

The oceanarium on the ship is in our port; I saw it since the beginning of summer, I was there about a month and a half ago. There are not too many fish, but not too few either. Everyone except the sharks has a large space, which is nice, but everywhere there are aiptasia. There is a fox in the aquarium, and it swims almost alone; there are also sculpins that are not visible. The aquarium is at least 300 liters, and all the sand is in glass roses, which ruins the view; they should put some helmonas there. There are also monkeys and other animals; it's sad to look at them, they all seem gloomy.

Phillip9722

I apologize profusely, but I know a bit more about your Brilliant and Useful idea - I was initially skeptical when I was "told" about it and skeptical about the budget for such a project, but now I see with my own eyes that things are indeed moving forward!!! However, I am constantly plagued by the question about the "plex" from which the viewing glasses are made - really, how do you plan to clean and polish it from the inside? Manually by a diver? Surely you have thought this through - please share a little, I’m not a competitor, I swear - I’m just very curious from a technical standpoint.

Robert5335

As far as I have seen in various aquariums around the world, the system is specifically "diver manually"...

Stephen5857

Come on, this is from the realm of some kind of science fiction. Or there will be one bucket with a jellyfish in the fall, and everything else will happen whenever it happens.

Spencer7805

Is the ticket price known for early booking? We would be delighted to come and see! Good luck with your plans.

John828

According to intelligence, a ticket will cost 30-50 if everything doesn't collapse after the elections...

Tracy

and it all leads to that...

Dana6523

I think the question is more than rhetorical at this stage...

Whitney

You know, in our city, they have been planning to build a bridge over the railway since the 60s, and now they are working around the clock, promising to open it by autumn. And by the pace of construction, I can see that everything is heading in that direction. Well, there isn't much time left to wait. It would be nice to see a photo report of the work at least once a month to strengthen our faith.

Elizabeth

I found photos of the future aquarium, and to be honest, I'm shocked and find it hard to believe that we will have something like this, but on the other hand, with the upcoming elections, I think someone will get good publicity. I also found job openings at the aquarium with start dates. 2. Cashiers (start date from 15.09.12) 8. Tour guides (start date from 28.09.12)

Jeffrey

Class-sssss!!!! This is fantastically beautiful!!!! I swear I'll go to see such a wonder.

Maria

By the way, we could organize a meeting...

Wendy8540

In Nature

Amber6362

The Aqua Forum is supposedly around the 20th of November, and the opening of the oceanarium is somewhere around those dates. So, if we have time, we will definitely organize a meeting! This project has nothing to do with political PR, so you are mistaken. I will attach new photos soon.

Heather

I spoke about general concerns that after the elections everything would collapse, and God forbid that it affects such a wonderful project... and that was all I meant...

Jeffrey496

I wonder if the forum will discuss purely organizational issues or if it will be a forum for marine aquarium enthusiasts and organizers within the framework of "Marine Fairy Tale"? If it's not a secret.

Ricky9405

How is the construction progressing? A photo would be nice...

Randall7906

Of course, I want to see it, but it's unlikely they will open it in the fall of 2012!!!

Brandon4517

Such confidence in judgments can only be found in people who are involved in the construction of an aquarium.

Laura3615

Good luck to the guys, I'm just saying that it's already autumn!

Amy1672

The construction of the oceanarium in Darnytsia is in full swing (I saw it in person), and although there is still a lot of work to be done, including decoration and stocking, the overall picture is taking shape; the aquariums and their sizes are already impressive! I wish the builders not to lose momentum and good luck in this grand endeavor! Rejoice, lovers of marine aquaristics!!!

Collin

Already rejoiced... and became joyful!!!

Diana7891

I found a link to the future oceanarium's website on a Russian resource. There is a description and a small photo gallery. There is probably some information on our website as well?

Cheryl

I found a couple of new photos.

Johnny

Rendering is certainly good, but let's see what happens in reality.

Gabriel

Today on TV, I briefly saw in the news that they opened some kind of aquarium; there was a video, and the visitors were happy, but they were disappointed that the sharks haven't been released yet. I went to the website of the aquarium being discussed here and saw: The opening date will be announced soon. So, did they actually open it?

Debra6575

They opened Ocean Plaza, but they probably didn't open it in Darnitsa, at the Children's World.

Dennis

Yes! Who has been there already? We are waiting for photos and reviews! Is the entrance paid?

Mike

I visited Ocean Plaza. A week ago, only monodactyls were swimming there (if I’m naming them correctly). Today is the official opening. They promise 5 sharks (if my memory serves me right). The volumes are impressive, but the decor, in my subjective opinion, is lacking (very much so) – just some ceramics painted to look like stone, SPS and LPS. I’ll try to take photos and list the hydrobiota closer to the evening if I make it to Ocean Plaza. P.S. Entrance to Ocean Plaza is FREE))) 2 P.S. If you're interested, there’s an amateur photo of the "Aquarium of the city of St. Petersburg."

Brian6895

So it's a shopping mall.

Kevin3114

The aquarium is a lure in the shopping center, and the maintenance fee is included in the rent for the premises!

Jason5071

The Ocean Plaza has its official opening today, with a crowd of people. You can visit the aquarium on weekdays, preferably in the first half of the day. I didn't have my camera today. Photos are taken with my phone.

Caitlin3279

I don't understand, will there be two aquariums in Kyiv?

Alejandro

2 large aquariums. The oceanarium, I think, is too loud.

Christina9947

We have a big aquarium like that in Kharkiv at the Karavan shopping center, but without corals. In short, it's not great. I heard that a big oceanarium will open in Kyiv this summer in a zoo, in some abandoned monkey house, and it’s supposed to be really cool.

Sandra7004

There are new residents in that monkey house. 450 individuals, they were just selected recently...

Karen

Successful aquarium! I even squinted my eyes when I saw the photos... And how much does the plaza pay visitors for viewing?

Jenny

Official opening and photo gallery

Judy

Continuing the topic about the aquarium in the "Ocean Plaza" shopping center.

Anthony

Wow! Who was there? Share your impressions.

Frank7213

Yesterday, I was near the Children's World at Darnița metro station. The entrance to the oceanarium is 60 on weekdays and 90 on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays (for adults). I didn't remember the price for children—it's a little less.

James1625

I went half a month ago - I liked it, I don't regret it. It wasn't breathtaking, but I was just expecting worse.

Janet5447

I was there! I went last Thursday. There were a lot of people, and so much positivity! I liked it! The only thing was that it was a bit dark in the tunnel aquarium, and the water was murky. I couldn't tell if the corals were real or just replicas. They were really big! Who has been there? Enlighten me!

Kenneth7331

Yesterday I went to see it. It's impressive. The dimensions are about 20 by 7 steps. However, as far as I understood, the corals are artificial. The symbiosis is amusing -))) There was always some kind of catfish or "suckerfish" hanging on the shark -)) The culture is disheartening... There’s a poster saying no photography allowed - of course, people are taking pictures... Then there’s another one saying no flash photography... While I was there, the security made four remarks...

Paul

Yesterday in the news, they said that the shark in Ocean Plaza is already "sleeping."

Kristen2246

Only not, but

Daniel132

Well, it could have been arranged. I went yesterday with my family. 1. Class!!! 2. Super!!! 3. Super-class!!! 4. There's a lot to compare it to, and I liked it just as much. 4. A lot of artificial elements, but even more natural ones. 5. The animals are in excellent condition. 6. You can only take photos without a flash. 7. There is a cloakroom. 8. The souvenir shop and other stuff have reasonable prices. 9. You can wander around as much as you want; I could spend the whole day there. 10. I will go again, but definitely with a guide. 11. Normal price. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

Andrea8397

Off-topic. It's a cool topic, except that most people are talking about the aquarium in Ocean Plaza, not the oceanarium in Darnitsa...

Angela7060

Scalar, thank you for the photos!

Joseph591

I specifically visited Ocean Plaza today - the masters from (this is their project) really didn't create what they wanted... it's small, all artificial... In general, I was left with a disappointing impression... This week I'll go to the aquarium for the little one... We'll see what's there, but if there are artificial corals, that's already a minus...

Johnny

Continuing the topic about the aquarium in the "Ocean Plaza" shopping center, the SHARK HAS DIED.

Elizabeth6302

So what’s next??? Are we going to panic with the crowd? And no one, ever, has had a fish die in their aquarium - everyone is just saints.

Jill9137

Scalar, no, the fish is dead, it dies and will continue to die. But it somehow doesn't seem right when a solid company designs, builds, selects, and populates an aquarium. They hire a hydrobiologist (if I'm not mistaken, a "professor" with a name), and it turns out the fish doesn't fit in size, gets "intestinal infections," and dies without living in the aquarium for even 3 months. In my opinion, this resembles the actions of a third-grade student rather than a "company" that is reaching the level of executing orders from other countries.

Russell8484

Today I visited the oceanarium in Darnitsa. The impression is excellent, I didn't even expect it!

Joseph8842

This handsome one is my favorite.
