1982, there are similar themes, and not just one, and not just two...

For 500 liters??? This is not a penny, it's an illusion. This won't last long. A sump is definitely needed for such a volume. Or alternative options - refugium, etc.

Here is the cabinet, consisting of three compartments. The depth in the middle compartment is reduced due to the presence of stiffening ribs, and modifying the cabinet means draining the water and removing the aquarium. I only have a 360-liter tank, so where would the rest go? My skimmer is SKIMM 800; as an inexperienced sailor, I was assured that even a 600 would be suitable, but I played it safe and got the 800. Then I found out that I needed something even more powerful, so that's the situation.

What is the required sump volume for such an aquarium?

There is no limit; you can have 100 liters, 200 liters, or 300 liters—everything depends on the available space and what you want to place in the sump. Definitely, the larger the sump capacity, the better; it provides additional volume, a larger algae scrubber, and plenty of space for auxiliary equipment, especially, and there won't be any issues in choosing a protein skimmer.

What can you tell me about the penny? Will this one work, or will this one manage? I understand that the bigger, the better, but still?
Kevin
Maybe do it like in the thread on:

By the way, it's a good option, just three more compartments to make.
Thank you.

If there was a desire to fit in the samp. Otherwise, you just don't want to deal with it.

I completely agree with your opinion, I just operate on the principle that "you can't spoil the porridge with butter."

Do you know why everyone advises washing sponges in aquarium water? They can be washed under the tap too. It's just that one time a person washed them in the machine and then yelled at everyone that his fish died. Since then...
By the way, I don't recommend Boyu; it's a good inexpensive foam maker, but it doesn't last long. Mine died yesterday, and I'm sitting without a foam maker (for my 600) and praying to Vitaly to make it faster.

I was thinking of getting a more powerful filter in the future, since it's currently handling it, and even then it collects about an inch and a half of dirt in a couple of days, so later it removes less dirt, I have to drain it, and then it starts filtering dirt normally again.
Steven7574
That's right. I'm giving it away to beginners.

Consider my option for a sump installed above the aquarium.
My personal opinion is that your skimmer is sufficient; it may be possible to do without a sump with such a load, but a filter wouldn't hurt.

I only wash my sponge with osmosis water. ) So from the above, one can conclude: Samps help get rid of the film and that's basically it (not counting that all the equipment is in it), and if you keep a bit of algae in the tank, the foam that hangs on the wall doesn't really interfere, so it might be okay? And regarding sulfur, do many sailors have it?
Anne
Ser helps to remove nitrates. The film can be disturbed by current pumps or a so-called flute (a tube with holes on one side along its entire length).
