At an angle of 45 degrees or even less (to the vertical). What is the wall thickness? Maybe it's easier to make a cut in it? What is the problem?
Joshua8425
The thickness is about 200-250 mm, a load-bearing wall of a private house, and behind it a warm room will be built specifically for all the aquarium equipment. Making it at a 45-degree angle is not very convenient; perhaps there are some options to run it at a 90-degree angle, maybe make a bend higher or something? In general, since I haven't mastered the "marine technical" language yet, I perceive everything better through examples and what I've seen. Regarding the glass, as I understand, there are no problems, but I can't find an example where a glass is used and the sump is in a separate room. I looked here and on

I understand that newcomers don't even think about such arrangements and transitions, which is why there are no similar topics on the forums. The veterans of the "sea" know how to do it themselves, so they don't create threads about advice.

Maybe I didn't quite understand what it's about, why it needs to be at 45 degrees? etc. We have an aquarium above, the pipes are routed through the bottom of the aquarium and then about a meter to the other wall, and behind it is the sump. It's also hard for me to explain in technical terms, so I'm attaching a photo.

This option for the drain is interesting, and I understand it a bit. The water, I assume, will flow through the horizontal pipes since it is being pushed from above. However, I have a slightly different situation; I want to install the sump almost at the level of the aquarium, just behind the wall. Therefore, the drain needs to be considered not through the bottom, but through the side glass. But how?
Meghan
I did some drawing. Here are the results - sorry - like a chicken with a paw. The drawings are schematic - just to understand what is right and what is not. Do these options even have a life? Which one is better and more practical? Are there any downsides?

The third one should be tried.

So, is the Durso on the outside? Does such a system even work? I've never encountered it; I arrived at it through basic logic. I understand that this is a completely silent option. How do you implement an emergency system in such a setup?
Mary
Calculate the sump so that there is no overflow in the aquarium. I don't have an emergency drain.
David
I would like an emergency exit at any cost. The room size will be approximately 3m x 3m, so there is room to maneuver. Therefore, I would also like to install a sample with a large reserve of compartments for equipment in the future.

As I understand it, the opinions of the specialists have come to an end.(((

You write one thing, draw another, or I don't quite understand (the drawing only shows the pipes going to the sump, which is presumably located below the level of the aquarium). It's a bit unclear, which is why there aren't many responses (suggestions). If you have the opportunity, come to our office or call me back, and we'll try to help with advice.

Drainage at the aquarium level is possible in principle, but it will be veeeery slow. It is unlikely to be suitable for a marine aquarium, at least for passive drainage.
Melissa1838
It makes sense to raise the sump above the aquarium and create a reverse system.

In this situation, everything is resolved very simply; you don't need any Dursos or wells. To avoid writing a lot, call me tomorrow afternoon (I'll try to explain over the phone).

What number should I call? For the Aqua-sm office?

1. Definitely this option. Option No. 2. For one simple reason - the Durso requires adjustment, and a fine adjustment at that - you need to look at both the drain in the sump and the Durso itself - if the Durso is taken out of the wall, the flow will be...
2. A right angle or 45 degrees - in terms of hydrodynamics, pipe length, and noise - you should always strive for 45 degrees.
3. There are plenty of pocket cups, I have a bit more photos here in my blog, and a bit less there, but it's clear anyway.
Wesley
He wants to make a sump at the level of the aquarium. A 45-degree pipe or hose will exit into the bottom of the sump.
The third option is the most realistic, and after the Durso, a pipe can be placed at a 45-degree angle.

Maybe I misunderstood something - but I was talking about Dursu in the pocket, not behind the wall, and about the 45-degree pipe after him, if that's possible.
