Here’s a topic for you to read, please. If you are studying and learning the theoretical part, it’s also good to read this before deciding what to do and what to base your decisions on. There are plenty of similar topics on general questions, but at least read this, and you will understand a lot for yourself, and your questions to us will be different. My advice to you is to connect with marine aquarium enthusiasts in Simferopol, get to know them, as their support and advice, along with communication with like-minded people, can be very beneficial and sometimes necessary, and more important than this writing, and it offers more value. Sailors are sociable people; they will help. Good luck.

buy this one and forget about the Red Sea - it's not worth that much money, not even close. Whether it's Boyu or Red Sea, it's all Chinese. I'll say more - a penny in Boyu works quieter and better.

Holly

I have already read the mentioned topics, but the question remains open - the price of Red Sea and, for example, Boyu differs by almost four times. Is the quality of the components (lighting, foam, etc.) really that different?

Richard

Off-topic, in your threads about Red Sea Max there is a claim that it is from China, where do such beliefs come from? Where have you seen Red Sea from China?

Linda

I was in Israel at the Red Sea factory, in Israel they only make small items - tests, salt, everything else is produced at a licensed factory in China.

Phyllis

The only nice thing in the red sea is the cabinet, in the blue it's a disaster.

tastes and colors ... I wouldn't buy a fight just because of its design ... I don't care about the pen and the rest.

Jacob4800

There is a red Si Max ... silver color ... I don't remember the exact price, but it's around 7k.

Sorry for the off-topic, but I'm going crazy over you. For example, for 7000 UAH, you can make an aquarium with 10mm glass, 170x60x60 = 2000 UAH, plus a sump 110x50x45 = 450 UAH, a stand 300 UAH, and all the cladding 500 UAH, plus all the fittings 250 UAH, totaling 3500 UAH. The return pump is 500 UAH, the skimmer and lighting depend on taste and imagination. But this is not 150 liters. For 7000 UAH, I can't understand such an approach. Well, at least make it to order for 400 liters.

If I had enough money and little free time, I would buy Elos systems. Although it can be said that for this amount, one could assemble a system over 1000 liters. So it's not worth measuring everything by the amount of saltwater in the apartment/house.

Thank you all for participating in the topic. There is no goal to spend as much money as possible on the aquarium. I have a desire to have a home sea, but considering that I am a beginner in this matter, I would like to avoid the situation of "a penny wise, a pound foolish" and find a suitable balance of price and quality. Right now, I am looking for and trying to systematize reviews on BOYU (I have a stand for it - I ordered it for a terrarium). By the way, here is an interesting link regarding one of the problematic areas of Boyu (lighting) - it might be useful to someone (Chrome translates it well).

Courtney

Well done! You made the right choice.

Congratulations on your purchase, it's really a decent tank for very little money (some fish or corals cost more). Get a cabinet for it right away, as despite the equipment it has, the connections will be bulky and you'll need to hide the wires with timers and controllers somewhere. In my opinion, the cabinet should be 80-90 cm high.

Angel628

Thank you for the congratulations. The cabinet is already there - (in the photo) its height is exactly 85 cm. Inside, there is space for additional equipment. A question for the experts: will the proximity of the chairs (almost right next to the cabinet) cause the aquarium light to irritate the person sitting nearby, or will the water and reef partially absorb it?

Angela7060

Well, if the cabinet can hold about 200 kg, then it's fine. However, I would recommend cutting a base out of particle board to use as a pad, covering it with foam or something else to reduce noise and transmitted vibrations, which will definitely be present to some extent. The noise will initially be a bit unpleasant, but later it will blend in with the other sounds, as all marine aquariums make noise, hum, and bubble in their own way.

William

Off-topic. The main thing is that there shouldn't be a hammer nearby, but if someone is seriously annoyed, they should either not sit next to the irritant or you will have to engage in re-education. Hint that the sea water absorbs everything without a trace.

I didn't quite understand on what basis is the MDF underlay?

Charles4157

It is precisely at the base of the aquarium that it hangs a little; mine does too, but I don't have a proper stand, just a sewing machine. You, however, have the opportunity to do everything correctly— for example, you can place a slab cut to the shape of the bottom of the aquarium and treated with water-repellent varnish on the stand, then put foam polypropylene (urethane) or foam cut to the inner perimeter of the bottom on top of that, and finally place the aquarium on all of this.

Aquarium pads, here are some photos for example (there are many methods, and they are not used for small aquariums).
