• I want to make a homemade skimmer, I ask for advice.

Hello. I want to start a small aquarium in the spring, but theoretically, the preparatory process begins now. The aquarium is planned to be D60/W45/H45-40, which is about 120 liters, with around a hundred liters of usable space. Therefore, I have a few questions: the protein skimmer will be made of acrylic in rectangular dimensions similar to Aquamedic or Hydor: 1. What is the required pump power for a hundred liters? 2. Is it better to use a pump or a pump head? 3. Is there a relationship between the pump power and the volume of the protein skimmer? I would appreciate your answers!

I was just at the supermarket, went to the section for microwave and freezer containers, and realized that gluing from acrylic makes no sense, a lot of work, cutting, gluing, because they have everything I need there, I will just choose from what will be more convenient. The only question left now is about the pump.

Look for "Neptune" topics here and on the logo. He described it in detail. Buy Deltek.

What, no one will suggest the pump power and the volume of the foam maker???? regret...

I installed a pump with a capacity of 1800 l/h on a 80-liter aquarium. The volume of the protein skimmer is about 2.5 liters, but for DIY projects, everything needs to be adjusted through trial and error; companies spend years and millions on this.

Here is an example. The volume is not the same as yours. But it all depends on the desire!
