Need help from a specialist who can assist in bringing an operating marine aquarium into order.

Debra

The Chernigov figure finished him. Help!!!

Tami

I don't know who made your aquarium, but you have Pavel Morozov and Khrysh in Chernihiv - try reaching out to them! Look for them on the forum!

Travis572

Yes, contact Pavlik Morozov, I think he will help.

Emily3144

Off-topic What if..... Basically, there’s nothing wrong. You just need to use your hands and think with your head about what to do. Sweep the cyanobacteria with a brush, adjust the foam filter to the necessary mode, populate it with macroalgae, test the water, and not rush things. When was the aquarium started?

Brandi

Pavlik Morozov was the one who got him killed.

Debra

If I understood what it was about. I need a specialist who can handle all of this. Pavlik Morozov has already ruined it... It was started 2 years ago, but something keeps dying in it, the corals don't live at all. Who can test the water??

Susan

That's what I thought... well, while there's still a chance to fix everything, your colleague is giving you the right advice here, take care of the maintenance yourself, and provide us with as much information as possible about the equipment, the source water, if any medications were added, then which ones and when, what kind of lighting is used and for how long. It seems like no one is even taking care of this aquarium at all.

Christopher1252

It's really interesting that Pavlik started the aquarium, but who maintained it? If it was him, how often and what exactly was done...? And what involvement did you have in the life of the aquarium? I want to understand your capabilities... time... desire to take care of it yourself. I also have the impression that almost no one approached the aquarium...

Pamela

Pavlik took care of it. He has let it get to the state it is in now. Now I will have to take everything into my own hands, although I don't really want to, but since there are no specialists in Chernihiv, I will have to do it myself. If someone could conduct an "autopsy" at this stage and suggest what needs to be done now, I would be grateful, not only morally but also financially. So much life has died in this aquarium that it's hard to imagine. Of course, I am partly to blame; once it froze, another time it boiled, but that was a year and a half ago, and during this time Pavlik hasn't restored it. Please help. It would be a shame if it were to be lost.

James

I understand that it froze once and boiled another time? So, a reliable thermostat needs to be installed here; there was already a case with our friend when a bad heater caused the reef to go. It's necessary to monitor the operation of such devices daily. For this, the thermometer should be in a prominent place, not somewhere unknown.

Angela7060

Yes, no, I froze in winter because the window was left open, and last hot summer, the air conditioner broke down on the weekend and there was no one in the office.

Christine

Maybe it's easier for you to sell it off. Why suffer?

Mitchell3177

You know, a marine aquarium perishes exactly like that when no one cares about it. It needs constant attention. The slightest mistake or negligence can lead to irreversible consequences. I believe you have already learned lessons from the past, as in an abandoned aquarium, not only can this happen, but God forbid, something else can occur as well; I won't even mention what, but such cases have happened.

Christopher

There is nothing to sell there, and at home, I want to have a beautiful aquarium. Therefore, I will study and do it myself. I just need help from a specialist.

Julie3950

It's all clear, but I need real help, not demagoguery. Can you help? Conduct an analysis of the current situation and develop an action plan.

Patricia1746

What analysis? You were advised on which tests are needed to start.

Thomas

Well, if they want what's best for you, and you perceive it as demagoguery, then there's nothing to talk about.

Ricky9405

So what I'm getting at is that someone knowledgeable should test the water, inspect the aquarium, and analyze its condition.

Robert

The author's desire is somewhat unclear. Please clarify what you want. Do you want to figure things out on your own and need hints? Or do you want to change the caretaker and not worry about the aquarium yourself? Based on the responses, it seems more like the second option.

Daniel8015

Please describe the main parameters, such as water osmosis, a photo of the sump, what kind of skimmer, and if there are any algae issues. Based on my experience, if you are growing a soft coral reef, tests are not particularly necessary. In my personal experience, it's enough to have osmosis with resin and a 10% water change every two weeks. There won't be any nitrates if the source water is good and there is no overcrowding. A month ago, I had a lot of algae covering all the glass with no fish and no feeding. Once I changed all the filters and resin, everything cleared up in a week, even though fish were introduced and feeding started.

Jennifer

You are very categorical. It is unknown what lived there and what died. The first step to rehabilitation is testing. At least the nitrogen cycle. Constantly on ammonium, for example. Then act based on the test results.

Stuart

There is no algae, and everything at the bottom I glued.

Mike

I also had everything alive, then it died (everyone knows why), the smell was so strong in the house you could hang an axe... in 2 days the pen was all knocked out - the Deltak pen is the first key to success, the next stage was cyanobacteria, then it was replaced by filamentous algae, then I started dealing with water and that's it... what will the tests show? I'm sure everything will be fine, someone will always be consuming nitrates, but it will look terrible externally (I can give you a nitrate test, do you need it?) What pen and what water? The rest is the same for me too...

Hunter1471

I think it's necessary. I will study maintenance since there is no specialist in Chernihiv. If I dedicate time every day, how much time is needed for maintenance?

Amy5468

I don't quite understand, explain it to me. For now... and I need to figure out how much salt to add later. But it seems that someone named Denis already called me back and promised to come next week; he seems to be a specialist and should conduct an analysis and write a treatment plan.

Stephanie4990

In the marine aquarium, osmotic water is poured in, but since the membrane allows silicates to pass through (or something like that), a final purification with composite resin is added afterwards.

Rick

already home

Amy9618

When was the aquarium moved and how exactly did the relocation take place? This is very important!!!!!!! Most likely, judging by the photos, a restart is happening with all the resulting consequences. But if the move was done properly, everything will settle down quite quickly; if not... The photo is very small, please take a new one with a higher resolution. I think the guys can provide some advice on the equipment. As for what is already visible, the foam is quite well produced, although it would be interesting to know how long it took to accumulate. Try to clean the tank more often, preferably twice a week... And how long it takes to fill up is also important...

Heather2018

They were transported about 3-4 months ago. The water was drained separately for the animals, and then on the same day, the same water was set up and poured back in. The only thing that "for some reason" Pavlushka threw out was the algae, why? I don't know. But the aquarium still felt unwell in the office. This is not a consequence of the move.

Erica752

I don't understand one thing: so Pavlik launched it... and then? Did he come and service it? If not, then he is most likely not to blame... I can still scold my specialist, but his job was to install the standard equipment and press the start button, and after that, it's the owner's fault (unless there was a contract for ongoing maintenance).

Daniel

Off-topic. Let's try not to discuss the actions of a specific person, I'm talking about Pavlik, I think that's a different topic... What about the sand-soil, maybe it has settled, although since it was transported by someone else... As for the algae, it's also ambiguous. They didn't grow in my first aquarium, and there was light and current, and in the second one, I also manage without them... maybe they didn't work for you either, and you decided to throw them out... I'm sorry.

Elizabeth

Then it is necessary to remove the specialist's name from all posts, otherwise the person will simply lose their income in the future... if they are guilty, they deserve it, but if not, then the truth needs to be known...

Lindsey3362

Off-topic Tanya, I don't have any right now, everything that was has been taken by the surgeons. So, don't worry.

Daniel8015

I understand that Denis is from iReef. So you just have to wait for his arrival; he will tell you everything and help you, explaining in detail what, when, and how to do things. In the meantime, while you wait for him, read the forum, and communication will also contribute. I hope everything works out for you; the main thing is that you have the desire and passion for this. Everyone started at some point, and it was difficult for everyone. Good luck.
