• The sea anemones are hiding!!!

  • Mark9853

In the aquarium, these two species of anemones were planted: Radianthus Koseirensis and Radianthus Riterri. They crawl around and choose a spot, sitting in a prominent place near the reef for two to three days, fully open, and then completely hide inside the reef overnight. Why does this happen, should they be removed from the reef (I have done this procedure three times, even dismantling part of the reef), and what contributes to such behavior? The third Entacmaea Quadricolor was placed on live rock and has been sitting in one spot for about a week, while the aforementioned ones were on the sand. Should they also be placed on live rock?

I would advise you not to disturb them; over time they will choose a place for themselves, though it may not be right in front of your eyes... I had one anemone living for a long time, and then after a year it turned out there were three... two were living on the other side of the reef... now, thank Neptune, two of them are in sight... there is no way to influence their migration.
