• Solubility of calcium hydroxide in the aquarium

  • Laurie3842

Honor! Perhaps someone can advise on calcium hydroxide. According to Wikipedia, the solubility at 20 °C is 0.165 g per 100 g of water. However, I cannot dissolve even a significantly smaller amount of Ca(OH)2. I added 0.25 g of hydroxide to two liters of osmosis water, and it did not dissolve. What could be the mistake?

And why can one be curious? Hydroxide in the presence of carbon dioxide turns into carbonate, which has two orders of magnitude lower solubility.

Calcium hydroxide is used in limewater.

Ah, I don't understand this, sorry. Perhaps the technology is disrupted.

options. - The water is not degassed. It turned into chalk. - Due to improper storage, the lime has already turned into chalk, which is known to dissolve worse.

I have serious doubts that they serve specially degassed water in the calkvaser. The thing is, I haven't had time to store the powder - I brought it home and added it right away.
