• Calqwasser, who has used it?

I understand that this is outdated and under heavy load it doesn't perform well, but still, who has used it? What are the pros and cons at the initial stage? Does it maintain calcium/buffer within normal limits of 440/10? Or is it better to use balling?

Igor, take a look around Riffcentral, it was there. There are equal amounts of pros and cons. In my opinion, balling is the best solution, but I am also a newbie in M.A. (marine aquarium).

It's a normal thing, at the initial stage, while there aren't many calcium consumers, it helps maintain Ca and kH, but you can't add too much as it will raise kH and pH (in any case, it also needs to be adjusted to the system, i.e., to add what is consumed); over time, it will be necessary to add a calcium reactor to the system (some keep it running in pairs, others remove it, and some don't install a kalkwasser reactor).
