• Cloudy brine

I left a spoonful of salt in an open container for a day. I poured water into it. The water became cloudy. No matter how much I shook and stirred it, the cloudiness didn't go away. This cloudy mixture sat for a day, and I poured it out. It suggests that in an open container, some chemical elements in the salt change their properties when interacting with air. Could the complaints about the cloudiness of the brine be due to the fact that the salt was not sealed properly somewhere? Maybe we should put silica gel in the salt bag?

The day before yesterday, there was a program on TV about silica gel. It turns out to be a terrible thing in terms of its impact on human health. The dust from silica gel is very harmful. And I think the dust will inevitably get into the salt. Of course, I'm not scared by this—four years in a cement warehouse and three years in paint plus 20 years of smoking, but I feel sorry for my pets. Do we really need this? I just try to seal the salt as tightly as possible (as much as I can). When I open the bag, take some salt, I try to squeeze the air out of the bag before closing it.

I also recommend adding salt to the water and stirring, not the other way around.
