I put Purigen in the aquarium. I added 100 grams for 500 liters. As a result, the water has really cleared up. The foreigners aren't lying. And... the foam filter hardly produces any foam. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have it! It seems that there is no water in the aquarium. I wonder if it extracts trace elements from the water?

I have been using Purigen continuously for over a year (along with Chemi-Pure). The impressions are only positive. I don't think it significantly removes trace elements. It is an ion exchange resin for organics.

Ha, then why use Zucht medications? P.S. The impressions from Zucht medications are also very positive. After using the enzymes from Zucht, the cap on the pen jumps up (and the cap on the Loginov pen is heavy!)

Zyukht is a leg for those who need a leg. I'm not saying that purigen doesn't work, I just know that you can clean water very effectively... it's not always good.

It's very good that when I was away from home for 2 weeks, my sister fed the fish a 2-month supply of food—they were hungry. Meanwhile, the drain pipe for the skimmer got clogged, and the waste flowed back into the aquarium. The Purigen was almost brown... I still think about how the remnants of the former "luxury" are being worked on by the reef snails and enzymes.

I have 200 grams of purigen in the system. I haven't noticed any changes in the skimmer's performance. Its job is to remove dissolved organic matter, various toxins, which the skimmer simply cannot eliminate, and larger "chunks" just don't fit into its pores.

Cognac Purigen is good for that: you can drink it, put it in an aquarium, or you can not drink it and just put it.

What six months... In my freshwater 600-liter aquarium, where there are 45 juvenile Tropheus, Purigen has exhausted itself in a month and a half, despite having powerful external and internal filters.

I will repeat once again. The pen was practically not working the next day after laying this stuff. In general, the effect is evident. However, my fish population is small, just 4 fish. But there is a watermelon-serun that performs well))) As for the downsides - 1. possible shedding of one acro, although it might not be due to this, but I still associate it with purigen. 2. Slowing down the growth of corals. As for the positives - the main thing is the color of the water - it is indeed crystal clear. There are no more nitrates with my bioload. I haven't dosed for 3 weeks.

Why?? Do you really think that Seachem writes about the required amount just for the sake of it?!))) I'm sure that before writing anything, the company conducted research! Seachem is not some random Chinese manufacturer! In my 200-liter aquarium, there is about 100ml of Purigen. After a month and a half, the color has slightly darkened, but it's still far from dark brown. The SPS corals haven't deteriorated; instead, they've become more "fluffy," and growth hasn't slowed down.

Of course, it's just a rough estimate; rather, these are VERY generalized recommendations. In the same volume of an aquarium, the load can vary significantly. Additionally, besides Purigen, other protein removers (skimmers, carbon, etc.) are used, so the dosage should be adjusted considering all factors, and this cannot be done by Seachem; an individual approach is needed.

I agree. Everything is very individual. It depends on the population, the load, and the speed of contaminants entering the water. One notable advantage of Purigen is that it changes color with wear. If it weren't for this feature (like with carbon), it would be completely unclear when to replace it and whether it is wearing out.

I recently heard reviews about a certain chemical (not Purigen) that are very similar - ALL CLASS, CRYSTAL WATER, SUPER COLORS, BUT ONLY A COUPLE OF ACROPORA HAVE FELL OFF.

I think you should have given a smaller dose. No administered drug should cause a sharp change in parameters; living beings do not like that.

It looks like a homemade job, stitched with thread, chlorine can eat through it. I stitched it with fishing line. You can buy it, but you need to run the fishing line on top. Also, check what kind of material it is; it should be resistant to chlorine. Reviews for freshwater are abundant both on forums and the internet in general.

40 den is the density, not the width of the mesh. There are also women's socks and tights of the same type as pantyhose, stockings at the end. I have purigen that doesn't spill out from anywhere, pantyhose for 6 from the store.

Is carbon needed when using Purigen, or can it be removed? I placed 100 ml of Purigen (it was in its "original" bag) in a 125-liter aquarium. Is overdose possible?

Do not remove the coal; they have different purposes with Purigen (Purigen is aimed at removing organics). There won't be an overdose (there will still be more organics left than Purigen can remove)...

It is better to add new fish to a mature aquarium in portions, as it can drastically change the parameters.
