• Morshynska

Dear forum members, could you please tell me if it is possible to use Morshynska water for replacing seawater? Thank you in advance.

Melanie

You need to look not at the name, but at the composition, so that the water is clean with minimal mineralization, without silver, and of course, without gas.

Danny

If you are in Kyiv, here is the phone number of the company that delivers water perfectly suitable for the aquarium: (044) 278-73-66. Just mention that it's for an aquarium, and the price will be lower. I have been using it for two years, and I haven't found anything better in terms of price and quality.

Thank you very much. But just in case, I will provide the composition of Morshynska water: Mineral composition: mg/dm3 Bicarbonates 50 - 150 Sulfates < 100 Chlorides < 100 Sodium + potassium < 50 Calcium 5 - 50 Magnesium < 25 Total mineralization 0.1 - 0.3 g/l What thoughts do you have regarding the adventure? Thank you.

I used to have something like that, it was fine, everyone was alive, there were no algae blooms.

I also found it VERY interesting to measure the pH (with a drop test) at around 6.5, but I haven't added it to the aquarium yet. For people with a tap water pH >7.5, this would be a solution (the price is quite reasonable, a 10-liter bottle costs about 9-10, which can then be used for water aging).

The total mineralization of 0.1-0.3 g/L is very high for a marine aquarium, while the water I provided has 0.001-0.002 g/L, which is a hundred times cleaner than Morshynska. I can provide a detailed water analysis from a chemical lab for "Ape-Gold." I know a couple more sources for good water, but it is more expensive.

I pour carbonated Morshynska into the aquas, until I get the CO2 setup - every day, like at work, a glass of water into the aquarium plop... I didn't notice that the topic is in the marine section, I'm adding fresh water.

I used Morshynska. Although it has the lowest mineralization of all the ones available in the store, something seems off about it. Cyanos really like it. The best result was with Dnipropetrovsk, even though its mineralization is higher, but it has no calcium/magnesium at all. For example, Znamyanka indicates silicates over 100 mg/L. Maybe Morshynska has them too, but they just didn't find it necessary to mention.

Jessica

I poured 3 bottles of 5-liter still Morshynska water into a 450-liter aquarium (freshwater, though). After two weeks, everything grew so much that I had to arrange for haymaking.

Rebecca

What is the minimum order for water delivery, or can they deliver just one bottle?

James5103

90% of Morshyn water does not match the label on it. Regular tap water + drinking soda. (A friend - a chemistry professor who issues certificates for Truskavets water)

Colin1418

The parameters of the Morshyn water were determined by tests: Tetra GH=4; kH=4; pH~6; Where can you find tap water with such parameters, especially after adding soda??? My tap water has the same tests: GH=14; kH=9; pH~7;

Courtney

Can you provide a bit more detail? What led you to this thought, what was the trigger? Why this particular water? What has overgrown and with what? I'm very curious! Thank you.

Thomas

1. As an option for small jars for water softening, I have already mentioned that the parameters of Morshynska are GH=4; kH=4; pH~6; 2. Sometimes the water from the tap can be so bad that you don't want to drink it or pour it into the aquarium. 3. And just to top up the evaporated water, because if you add water from the tap, can you imagine what the hardness of the water in your aquarium will be like in a year or two? (though for aquariums with Malawi cichlids, this is more of a plus) I also add it sometimes; the price is budget-friendly (6 = 6-liter bottle), so I don't think I'll go broke.

Susan

I forgot. SORRY, sailors, for making a fuss here.

James1625

I also tested Morshynska for hardness, the result is almost the same GH=4 KH=2. I also use it to reduce water hardness in the aquarium for breeding killifish. But I also noticed that the plants like the water changes with Morshynska; what I used to pour with soda didn't yield such results. When I poured a mixture of 2:1 (Morshynska + tap water), the results improved.

And in the Stryi district of the Lviv region, the water is amazing!!!
