After a year of reading books and forums, I have gathered my thoughts and knowledge and decided to take the plunge. There are still many uncertainties and questions, but I think good people will help with advice, so here we go: 1. 55x50x40 cm aquarium, glass with a rear sump (80 l display + 30 l sump) 2. Ferplast Bluskimmer 550 protein skimmer 3. Atman 1000 return pump 4. Red Sea Coral salt 5. 6.5 kg of live Carib Sea aragonite sand 6. 4 kg of dry reef rock + 6 kg of live rock 7. JBL heater (turned on only after the tank was cycled to heat the water, currently turned off as the temperature is 26°C in the apartment) 8. Sump: 1st compartment - protein skimmer, 2nd - Hetemorpha (later I will add 1-2 kg of live rock rubble), 3rd - return pump 9. Lighting: 5 * 24W edge-mounted Actinic + 12000K + Actinic + 12000K + Actinic 10. Flow: Resun 2000 and Koralia 1600(not sure how to best organize the flow) The water is RO with TDS=0. Do I need to add any chemicals, such as carbon? The tank was cycled a week ago, 40 l of water was taken from an established aquarium (thank you for the water and Hetemorpha). For now, only one flow pump is running. Do I need a second one before adding livestock? There was a Xenia on one of the rocks, but it seems it did not survive the transport and is now limp. What should I do about it? When should I perform the first water
