Beth3383

At the moment, the livestock includes white and pink ksyukhas, mushrooms, zoanthids, clavularia, and caulastrea. Today, I acquired ocellaris.

Nicole263

Ciano hasn't been around for long, and the animals were bought just recently, so the photos aren't very good.

Kimberly

The marine regiment has arrived.

Antonio

Thank you, can I ask a question? How many times a day should I feed the fish (they eat like there's no tomorrow)?

Jeffery7866

I still recommend abolishing the external ones over time. It would be better to have a samp. External ones at sea can cause major troubles.

Cassandra1840

I plan to do it like Polina Radionova, a little higher, the second aquarium connected to mine, in which I will make something like a sump.

Tracy

Ocellaris should be fed 1-2 times a day with small portions of frozen brine shrimp, a quarter of a cube, and one fasting day.

Steven7574

Well, that's just plain boring.

Tracy4603

By the way, I want to say a huge thank you to the Kharkiv sailors for their help and generous bonuses.

Antonio

Congratulations on the LAUNCH! What is that in the photo? A heater? Better to remove it. Over time, you can buy 5 kg of J.K. (live stones)! "The family budget won't withstand their meat." I also love "The Twelve Chairs" and "The Golden Calf," and those books are read to tatters!

Cynthia

When dealing with cyanobacteria, questions arose about whether it can be siphoned off during water changes and what reduction in light softness can tolerate without issues.

Melissa3200

Thank you. But at night it almost always turns on, and sometimes during the day too - the air conditioner is a beast (I love the coolness).

Heather6148

Odessa, I will throw in the future aquarium some live rocks cheaply and cheerfully.

Crystal4879

It is better to carefully sweep the cyan with a brush from the stones and sand.

John3335

and clean with a hose... because it will just change its location and actually, I would start by reducing the daylight hours - it helped me...

Andrew7823

Well, to start with the launch, you can also throw in the J.K. (living stones) into the gaps between the SKs - it will also be beneficial and not insignificant... Cheap and cheerful, and it's better to do it as early as possible to avoid a new start.

Brianna

It is even installed incorrectly; it is submerged in water, whereas it should be raised higher. There is a mark indicating how deep it should be submerged in water. Only the glass bulb with the heating coil should be submerged, while the control relay should be out of the water. Also, if the heater is Chinese, it is better to replace it, for example, because Chinese heaters often turn into kettles in the sea.

Kenneth2761

Aquael 200w heater from Poland, used in a cichlid tank for a year (not noticed any issues) under the plastic cover of the relay there is a minimum mark.

Ryan7682

I will try to do it as quickly as possible.

Ronald

Some livestock has been acquired on pieces of J.K. (live rocks), which is of course very little, but I personally saw several jars launched on S.R.K. (dry reef rocks) at our dolphinarium. I understand everything perfectly, but "meat is meat," and here we also have a jet engine.

Guy

May I ask about the duration of your daylight? Right now, I have actinics shining from 9 to 21 and MH from 12 to 18, it used to be MH from 11 to 19.

Lee

You can also install another pump under the foam filter, for example, and direct the flow parallel to the back wall of the aquarium to blow on the stones. By the way, is there a gap between the stones and the back wall? It's hard to tell from the photo...

Tanya

Odessa, the distance is about 2 cm and there is a current, judging by how the algae are swaying (they are currently on the rocks at the back), water from the foam is flowing near the back wall. Thank you for the advice, I will take a photo of the overall view at the moment.

Erin2730

That's how it is, the light is already off (I'm fighting with a purple thing).

William

Is the purple goo Cyanobacteria? They are bacteria, and they will live as long as they have something to eat; you won't defeat them with darkness.

Gene1948

I have actinics from 10 to 23, MH from 12 to 22... I always have activity at home, and everyone wants light.

Phyllis

it helped me

Darlene4238

Congratulations on the launch, the start is good, but the penny is really a weak point; it should be replaced with something more efficient and put in Samp.

Corey3201

Thank you for the congratulations. I can't say anything about the pen (I haven't used others), but it produces a dark skim, like coffee, though the aquarium is full of bubbles. Of course, in the future, I hope to replace it with something more serious.

Amy

Today I rushed through like a Mamai with a brush over the stones and slightly rearranged a couple of pebbles, placing a small pump of 320 l/h under the filter. The only one who hasn't liked my manipulations so far is the filter.

Mark7376

I will leave the daylight as it is for now.

John1464

Place a sponge at the water outlet of the foam generator; it will extinguish the bubbles.

Melinda

Yes, I put in a coarse filter (today after cleaning), but small bubbles are still coming out, although there are very few of them and they don't bother me.

Guy

You need to remove the cyan from the sand in the evening when it bubbles, or should you not put sand in at all? I'm a bit worried.

Emily3506

I would only suck with a straw... and at the same time, I could make a replacement.

Michael5242

I just read somewhere that after loosening the sand, the fish started to have crypt (or is that not possible?).

Jeffery

One more question, do I need to thaw the Artemia meat before feeding? I chop it into pieces and throw it in right away (a habit from keeping cichlids). Will they choke on it?

Colin1418

Make sure to thaw, and while the aquarium is new, feed as infrequently as possible.

Robert5335

Strombuses can somehow affect the situation with cyanobacteria on the sand, or will they also grow on it? This evening I will probably "vacuum" the sand, as it looks scary right now.

Rebecca

Don't rush, one morning you'll wake up, look, and the aquarium will be clean of them. Don't hurry things, don't touch the aquarium, let it settle for a week or two. It's better to test the water for Nitrates, Phosphates, and Ammonium.

Karen2578

Don't loosen the sand, collect the cyanobacteria with a straw... carefully... The aquarium is still fresh, nothing is really settled yet... But in any case, if you have it, turn on the UV... it won't hurt.

Caleb6320

I'm not sure about the strombus... I have a couple of small snails in my aquarium, about half a centimeter, illegal ones - and they absolutely loved the cyanobacteria! They devoured it completely. The results were visible right away.

Mike

Even better, buy it and turn it on, and you won't be afraid of "crypto" or "overfeeding" (my personal opinion).

Matthew

No, most likely it will appear when "the fried rooster pecks." I honestly admit that I also don't have tests, but I will definitely do them this week.

Christopher1252

I am looking forward to this day.

Randy

You are clearly following in my footsteps - it's about the rooster - I took down two Hepatuses like that.. while the fastest Arowana shop took three days to ship and while it was on the way for another three days - the fish died... but once it arrived, I turned on the UV and I won't turn it off. Edited - I caught a clean - Chrysipter, I killed - I didn't put down any Hepatuses, thank God.

Melinda

we can't live like this...

David4089

Buy it quickly, it can't get worse... Although the launch on the sausage and there are no animals - there shouldn't be any crypto YET, but UV is needed!

Sarah7284

As usual, "mom says don't run, you'll fall, but after falling, you keep running." And about the fastest store, it won't take long (I don't want to write anything bad or offensive).

Jasmine

I will definitely buy it. I have already looked at a type of internal filter or later, when I make a proper sump.

Mark

Sanya and "it" with fish and corals will definitely come.

Heather9815

They can. I saw them in person. Much bigger than usual.

Christopher8654

We have strombus shells for 8 USD each here in Odessa, quite large. If you want, I can buy some from him and send them to you. By the way, are you interested in a couple of white Ksyukhas? I can sell a couple of those too.

Brooke3987

Odessa, thank you, but I already have Ksyukhas, and judging by how they are growing, soon I won't know where to put them.

Randy

How big are they? And can they be planted in a reef? (especially in mine, they might not fit)

Earl

Tomorrow I will call the seller and definitely clarify the size. But I doubt he would offer me a "bucket with a trunk."

Angel2396

Today I contacted the seller, and it turned out that the strombus is 7 cm. I will try to get one. I don't know, maybe it will have too little space and I will have to find a new home for it, but I really want to see this "tank." P.S. They said there are also ones with spikes on the shell (spikes are 4 cm).

Gene1948

What kind of seller is it, if it's not a secret?

Stephen5841

I replied in a private message.

Michelle104

Today I arrived from Zaporizhzhia with a strombus. "I'll show you this uncle with big mustaches right now—here he is! Here he is! This cunning type of civilian appearance." I didn't buy any tests, but I got an Atman 203 pump rated for 2000 l/h, and now I'll try to somehow rig it to my skimmer, as it seems to be underperforming. This is after a week (although it might be normal?). By the way, after chatting with the caliper, the strombus showed a size (from one edge of the shell to the other, 7.1 cm—the seller wasn't lying). But for some reason, the mollusk isn't showing its eyes, and only a black snout is sticking out from under the sand (some kind of Gülchatay).

Mark9853

Is this really a strombus???? It looks more like a regular rapana. And strombus apparently doesn't have such a big lid. Be careful, because rapana is a predator.

Richard

The shell of the rapana has a slightly different shape, and the mollusk itself does not have a proboscis like that of the strombus. Moreover, I know the supplier who sent the strombus well, and on the day the strombus arrived, I was with him and saw them.

Jessica5016

To my GREAT disappointment, the axis of the Atman pump broke, and the skimmer probably won't be able to work better until next Sunday. The strombus is indeed a cool creature, and I trust the seller.

Chelsea

By the way, the "tractor" strombus, upon arriving at the construction site, turned around in place, jumped several times, digging into the sand and half-burying itself, pretending that it was stuck and needed a forced break. This is normal behavior for it after the move; otherwise, I start to worry.

Denise

Yes, it's fine, don't worry.

Brandy1134

Order a needle wheel from NOX for the pump, and the foam will start right away. In the photo, there seems to be too little dirt for your aquarium in a week.

Jessica6754

Odessa, if so, then I won't.

Aaron580

It looks like dry foam up there, and oil below. Everything seems great. Or is this photo casting a shadow on the skim? What is the actual color?

Darrell7542

I'm more interested in the axis; maybe it can be replaced with something (cotton swabs and lollipops won't work).

Martin3206

Yes, everything is as it really is, very black skim.

Danny

I don't know. I connected the old nozzles to the new pump with a silicone hose, turned it on, but it didn't work, so I took it apart and was unpleasantly surprised.

Diana3118

Honestly, I admit I don't earn that much (a regular tattoo artist "an artist must be hungry"). But most likely common sense will prevail - a penny wise, pound foolish.

Sara4035

I don't know, I would say it's a normal skimmer... maybe tweak the flow and drainage a bit, and everything will be fine.

Keith7534

It's hard to mess with the drain. I really regret not being patient and saving up some money to start with about 500 liters, but I’m sure everything will work out in about a year. I’m just really into the sea and hope to gain at least a little bit of wisdom from this experience so I don’t make foolish mistakes later. Right now, I think the only thing I haven’t messed up is the lighting (and even that is questionable). Although, since everything is still alive, it’s too early to make such conclusions. I’m not really fond of the pen.

Kimberly3727

You can always do something with the drain... starting from a cork plug and ending with a faucet or a thicker pipe fitting (I'm talking about the drain from the foam gun).

Jason5071

Maybe it's possible, I'll do something (necessity is the mother of invention). In the near future, I plan to set up a transit aquarium like a sump; it might somehow improve my system.

Amy

Maybe, but it's not essential. In my opinion, the skimmer is producing excellent oil. I only have a bit of tea, but more would be better. Take a photo of the skimmer—maybe we can come up with something with collective reasoning. And you can always buy a new one.

John3187

Yes, it's a penny like that. Besides the pump, there's nothing to change, and we need to make it for SAMP. And in general, we are not looking for easy ways.

Joshua8425

It doesn't load the page for me - I looked at it elsewhere... How is the drain arranged there? Do I need to increase the drain or decrease it?

James1625

Igor recently sold a nearly new one for half the price. Yura sold one for almost the same price about six months ago. You can search on eBay. Sooner or later, you'll get tired and buy a decent one. P.S. I'm not a "millionaire's daughter" either; while the "boy" is still available, it's twice as good as the "frog" - I'm telling you this as an owner of both.

Caroline1599

The drain is a simple rectangular hole, everything is adjusted only by air, I just want to add bubbles, and it seems that this can only be done by increasing the pump's power. I will buy another one or find where to buy an axis and try again. And who knows, I might get impulsive and buy a Deltec.

Larry9400

That's an option too) and you can also plug the hole a bit)

Leah

At this stage, I have one option - I need a samp, or whatever I was planning to make instead. And everything will be fine.

Nicholas

here's what remains of it there's no "mood" to finish it, and there's no sample for now as for the overhead - "to hell with it"

Jennifer9100

Maybe it's really better to spend on another pump than to buy "BOYU".

Scott9892

I tell you to install a new pump with needles on the impeller, make an adjustable outlet from the foam generator, and the costs will be relatively low, and it will work much better.

Michelle

I am also a crafty person.

David2398

I'll try, but there's nowhere to put the faucet.

Andrea

Where is the wooden sprayer supposed to be inserted?

Jessica6754

There is a photo in the link - you can see where and how.

Barbara8192

Drill in hand, compressor in the cabinet, and I enjoy the foam. Thank you.

Alexander

That's an option. I once played around with a Chinese skimmer like Jebo. I put three wooden diffusers inside and connected a dual-channel compressor; it worked well for a week, then the diffusers started to rot and get covered in algae, and that was it, you had to buy new ones, so it's more like a fun experiment.

Kevin262

Encouraged.

Lindsey3628

And the strombus just sits in the place where it buried itself.

Chad231

let's squeeze it out. Maybe I really wouldn't touch it, but slowly I would glue it together myself, pouring it, and maybe something would come up there.

John3432

Almost nothing needs to be glued, there is an 80L jar, I just need to figure out how to place it a bit higher than the aquarium for cheaper (I already have some ideas and will have photos soon, but I don't have time right now).

Linda

Tell me, does the caulastrea need to be fed in some way (maybe like the tubastrea), or is light enough for it?

Jennifer7578

If needed, I can bring it to Kyiv, anyway I think I will be going soon. Right now, as I increased the load on the aquarium, I became completely satisfied with it... before I thought it was broken. By the way, I also played around with the compressor, there was a result in principle - but the protruding tube annoyed me... I will also be selling the Gaisman lights and a couple of return pumps... I bought a bunch of stuff, and now I have no idea where to use it... I bought a Tunze skimmer for my aquarium - and now I think I wasted money - for 325 liters, it will be useless... So I'm accepting preliminary requests...

Jessica

I only add supplements for corals - it seems to be enough...

Raven7170

To be honest, it's so hard to go from a 450 and 300-liter tank to a 130-liter one, which looks like "a little jar in a school nature corner" (I don't have a Napoleon complex). But I want more. That's why I will invest minimally in this aquarium (I'm contradicting myself). And maybe soon I will also offer something to someone.

Joshua448

Well, my skimmer is designed for 300-400 liters according to the specifications... it's just okay...

Angela7060

Why sell it then, if you plan to put in about 300 liters?

Anthony7814

The blue-pawed hermit is causing a lot of trouble in the reef. They just offered a small one, I'm a bit doubtful.

Debra

I will have 325, but I need a reserve. And out of greed, I bought a more powerful one at a good price. I acted wisely, I looked at the pump I have on it, which is a 720-liter Aikhem, and figured that I could install a more powerful 1250 (it seems to be for 1000 liters) Aikhem pump. I called the company and said, "Send me one like that." They said that they don't have it in stock right now, but they have a 1260 Aikhem. I thought that the model has a small difference (in the code), maybe it's for 1200 liters... but when I received it, I was shocked by the size. That's how I ended up buying it... then I tried to get a Tunzovskaya one, but it also turned out to be wrong... then I bought another one—and again it was wrong... now I have three pumps.

Alicia5489

I have a big one... sometimes it can move small stones, but overall it's a beauty... and the small one is even better.

Steven

Does Amjaktot not hiss?

Johnny

I will probably have it soon too.

Omar3497

No, I only ate the thread.

James8887

And the strobus is still there, sitting like a locomotive in the snows of Antarctica, with its black pipe sticking out and paying zero attention to the amphipods.

Darlene4238

Sometimes, let him get used to the new place...

Eric8832

For some reason, my only has a pipe, but I would like a face like this.

Derek7322

only stones "only wooden", and they need to be changed periodically - they overgrow and productivity decreases. it depends on the character and gastronomic needs of the one you get. I don't have a blue-footed one, but sometimes it tries to eat mushrooms.

Andrew7823

I had a bit of fun with the foam maker, and now the cup looks like this after two and a half days. The modifications include shortening the pump tube by 6 cm and inserting pieces of silicone hose at the outlet. It's certainly not "oil," but there's significantly more skim.

Joseph9057

Wow, that's not oil! Just what you need and even more! Look at all that junk you've accumulated in the tank.

Eric8832

I was pleasantly surprised myself.

Ryan1989

Now, after washing the cup, it shines a little brighter.

William1830

Do you have a removable cup??? Well, if you don't want to wash the sea on the floor one fine day, silicone that groove on top.

Cheryl

And how do we wash the cup afterwards?

Bridget

No need to use silicone, first of all, the cup is on a sealing rubber ring, and secondly, there is a wide drain outlet for the water to flow back. The main thing is that the external tubes are tightly connected; there is pressure in the tube, although not great, but it exists. The foam maker works well with skim at the right setup, but adjusting it is a hassle.

Heather6148

The pen is hanging outside the aquifer, the rubber band is useless - sooner or later it will leak - it's not a bayonet. A piece of advice from personal experience: the cup can be cleaned later with a brush or a toothbrush, and the skimmer can be rolled back with either a syringe or a bulb. Also, the "working level" of this pen should be 0.5-1.0 cm above this ditch.

John3187

Perhaps, but within a month, this pen will move to a transit aquarium. And the water level in the outer flask does not rise above the drain level (which is about 4 cm from the edge).

Michelle1662

Here you can clearly see the water level and the edge of the flask. It doesn't even reach the rubber.

John3142

I never say anything without thinking or without personal experience, and I have two years of work experience, and at some service sites, I have been working for more than one or two years. Wash your pen more often to prevent it from getting clogged and the drain from getting blocked, and everything will be fine.

Sheila

On Sunday, new residents appeared. The hermit crab is polishing the stones, while the shrimp only comes out from the rocks to eat and at night. This morning, I discovered that one of the ocellaris had nipped fins. They started fighting fiercely (probably out of hunger), and after another bout (grabbing the fin so that the poor thing couldn't break free for about 10 seconds), my heart couldn't take it, and dinner began. Look at that belly (nipped).

Ryan

Can I feed clownfish with Tetra dry food for discus? I've fed them a couple of times, but I'm having doubts.

Amy5070

Why? There is Tetra for marine fish (but I didn't really like it), there is JBL Maris, there is spirulina, there is artemia. I mix spirulina and Maris for my fish.

Leah

It's just available. Otherwise, I feed them with Artemia meat. I also froze some bloodworms (but I'm a bit hesitant to give them - they're untouched).

Kenneth7331

I mean, who is fighting with whom? The Otsiks among themselves???

Joseph6461

Yeah, they are.

Brandon4517

Wow, cool! They are probably choosing a leader - they are incredibly social fish - the bigger the school, the less boring it is for them.

Michelle9986

Well, I don't have anywhere to put them (for now), and they are always in sight and asking for food. During feeding, one is really disciplining the other (probably the female). I'm thinking of getting some tulle apogons; I wonder if the cichlids will bully them?

Cassandra1840

No, they won't... They are peaceful.

Stephanie4990

Today I discovered the disappearance of two umbrellas (thoughts of various "troublemakers" immediately came to mind), but at a distance of 5 cm, I found the runaways. Maybe they don't like something (I chased a mushroom around the entire aquarium for a week - it's a "piercing enthusiast," it fell off the needle 3 times and was stuck to the leg that was holding the sand, to a little stone).

Crystal

And here he is, the one who used his ("cap") shell to tear off the little umbrellas.

Caleb6320

Yes, the blue-legged ones are quite capable of that...

Todd

It's worth a try, after all, good things shouldn't go to waste.

Steven757

Odessa, that's for sure. Something today since 9 PM, I still couldn't access the forum, but everything is fine on other sites. Is it just me or is someone messing around?

Katherine

Off-topic That's how it is.

Gregory9432

Oh dear, how not good.

Diana8604

Several new residents have appeared.

Sandra7004

Gorgeous redheads

George5104

Who did you get the strombusa from, if it's not a secret? And at what price?

Cheyenne2747

I bought it in Kharkiv for 70 UAH. I'll send the number in a private message.

Collin

The redheads eat well, my wife really likes them, she calls them "sunflowers." Thank you again for them.

Tasha

Today, after 3 days of fasting, a hermit crab appeared (it scared me a lot with its used shell). And a new creature showed up. By the way, regarding my large strombus - it's not a strombus (although I haven't noticed anything bad about it). Here it is.

John1464

who sold it to you?)

Jose

100% predators, remove it before they notice the bad, it will be too late then.

Charles894

I won't name names, the seller just wasn't aware of what they were selling.

Ronald5720

Now the monster is sitting in a stone enclosure, and by the end of the week, it will move to Belgorod for permanent residence.

Charles894

It's in vain; people will know who doesn't know what they are trading.

Curtis

Perhaps it was in vain. The seller was stuck with these "strombus" from unreliable suppliers. It's impossible to know everything about the sea, and that's how the mistake happened.

Amber

If it weren't for the theme on the logo, I would have a strombus (a lazy one, to be honest) as a mollusk. It turned out that there are buyers for this creature too, and such a product should also be present in the market.

Stephanie3084

I don't clean the glass at the bottom on purpose, hungry little elephants have appeared.

Thomas5021

It's better to clean, and let the little elephants crawl on the stones.

Kayla7655

The hermit crab was behaving very sluggishly after molting. Today, I threw him three shells to choose from, and he grabbed the biggest and heaviest one, put it on, and is dragging it around. I started offering him others, but he doesn't like them. I'm afraid he might get a hernia.

Daniel4967

They can't do it, their butts are very heavy.

Tina

Bua-haaaaa - humorously described the situation. My blue-footed friend just pulled a huge conch out of the sand - it hit him on the head with its spike, and he bolted into the rocks. The shell was clattering all the way up to the attic. He also put two shells under it - now it sits in the cave, looking at them and the conch from under its brow.

Robert1845

My friend also touched a strombusa, but your mollusk is much braver; until today, I had never seen a snail jumping 15 cm underwater (probably caught a current).

David2398

The shrimp doesn't let the tubastrea be fed until it has eaten itself. Is it too often for the shrimp to eat every two days (especially since it molts once a week)?

Melissa2062

They bought the starfish for nothing; they rarely live with anyone, especially in a new aquarium.

Andrew4194

Odessa, when I feed the tubastrea, I also sprinkle some artemia for her, she eats well. Maybe it's in vain, but I've heard that fromia live well.

Barbara

Will it not strain your eyes? You don't often see technical compartments raised above the aquarium and put on public display... Of course, something interesting might be happening in the algae tank, but the foam and other things. Plus, the noise from the cabinet, especially if it's ideally soundproofed, is less noticeable.

Troy8808

Igor, the hanging pen, plus the backpack Resan, the heater in the middle of the aquarium looks better, and I'm tired of the caulerpa in the display. The cabinet was originally made incorrectly, and now I have what I have. The technical compartment is 27 cm long and can be sealed in the corner, while the algae tank is 53 cm and might have something interesting in it; moreover, about 70 liters of water will be added to the system (which is very good). I think the noise will not be much more than it is now. P.S. We were on a first-name basis, right?

Pamela

It will be interesting to see how this Riff Octopus pen works; I wanted to buy one, but I ended up getting another.

Jessica5016

Me too

Steven

I don't quite understand the idea of your sump. It's the same volume as the display. What prevents you from installing an overflow and putting the sump in a cabinet, but not such a large one, maybe 50-60 liters max, in which there will be 20-30 working? And in that place, you could put a second "display" aquarium, which also seems to have a non-adjustable drain. If there's a "chiller" 6320 (or 65..), it would be better to replace it with at least a 30, but they say the 30 is quite noisy.

Andrea6761

Well, it's a bit smaller, and this aquarium was sitting idle. I just wanted to do it this way, and I want to come up with something for the algae tank so that I can look at it too.

Theresa5149

Very adjustable, there is a black tube that moves up and down at the outlet, the octopus turbine pump is very similar to the Aquamedic.

Catherine

Here is the pump.

Nicole7122

usually cost these it should be at least this way

Brian7092

Well, if it doesn't regulate, I'll attach a valve there. Is the foam maker really that bad that it can't handle 170 liters?

Kyle

Everything is correct!!!!

Aaron580

The pump there is definitely weak, it's better to install another one right away. Order a NOX to make one for you with a hairy wheel for 2500-3000, it's inexpensive and the effect is noticeable. As for Aquamedic, it only has the appearance.

Shane

Well, Jebo is also a bit weak, I'll see how this one works, and then maybe I'll upgrade it. For now, there isn't much load, and we'll see how it goes later.

Cassandra1840

It will work poorly, and there is always a load in a marine aquarium with rocks, fish, and invertebrates. It's better to do it right the first time and forget about it. Chinese foam filters do not work properly; they need to be modified.

I can always buy or modify a pump later. Right now, there's a Jebao for 200 UAH, and it seems to work well. Have you had a Reef Octopus Classic 500L OTP, or do you know someone who has used it, or is it just a general attitude towards "China"? By the way, the total water volume including the sump will be about 170 liters.

Julie

If because of "China" the first thing Google showed, even if it's a lie (500 liters claimed), can be divided by three, it should be enough. So far, I've only used it in fresh water; time will tell what happens next.

Eric5208

Does not work in fresh water (there will be no foam).

Angela

Already working in the samp, judging by how everything is bubbling in it - it will work.

Monica

Maybe it would have been better to do it this way - In your case, the viewing aquarium will be filled with bubbles + minor losses in pump power. I think a combined vessel would be more advantageous.

Michele

Maybe it's better this way. At first, I thought about doing a Durso, but now it's too late to change anything; everything is already done and working. Although I can cover the hole and install an overflow at any moment. A strong bubble was forming at the outlet of the sump, but now there's a sponge there (I think sooner or later I'll have to figure something out, but for now, I don't want to do anything).

John3142

Right now, it all looks like this. I threw some live rocks into the algae tank, soon I will add more algae, and I have a desire to move the rocks a bit while no one is watching; I really don't like the left slope.

Nancy758

Another BIG + of the overflow system is the absence of any pumps, overflows, combs, and all other equipment in the aquarium. Also Is the water column sufficient for the foam filter?

John3142

Column 31cm, I still don't know how much to sink it, so I'm adding a little bit of support for the seat (good thing I didn't throw it away).

Crystal

Seal (cover) the compartment with a black Arakal and try to make a seagrass from the sump. Why is there a sponge on the pump? Is it for filtration? And the pump is quite noticeable in the display...

Kristen2246

The pen is not bothering me, I'll remove the sponge later, but I can't do without the pump. I haven't decided what to put in the algae tank yet; I could go for some fish or something else. Maybe you could suggest something to put in the "marine herb garden."

Travis572

There are definitely no skates. They will most likely die or become weak. You can throw in some hermits and hooligan outcasts as well. Since there is space, try different types of macrophytes. Don't forget the main thing - this is one of the elements of water regeneration, and it must fulfill its functional role! And if you can combine this with an attractive appearance, I think you'll earn respect.

Joseph9203

heh))) another sea))) it's called samp))))))))))

Kimberly3727

Maybe I missed the point, but what is the reason for such a design? Doesn't the aesthetic aspect scare you? There was a topic about a species sample for ikos - there the aesthetics were FAT. Will the effect of "constant construction" not become bothersome over time?

Susan9583

"Constant construction" is not frightening at all; over time, it will somehow become more refined.

Johnny

Hello! How is the weather in sunny Israel?

Wendy

Hello to you too. The weather is great, consistently +40, and in the sun it's around +50... So the weather has been sunny.

Cheryl9296

Off-topic Oh-take-me-too into your Shalom, I’m almost Jewish too, I’m from Odessa, almost all the locals are Jews. Sanya - are you keeping Shabbat???

Brenda

Off-topic, Jews are indeed smart, Shabbat - Friday - party, Saturday, hangover and again a party, you can't do anything at all, I think it's not bad to tell everyone that I will now keep it.

Jeffery

Although today is Saturday and I am almost there too, I had to carry some stones. It's still quite a mess, but it turned out somewhat like this (poetry).

David2398

Well, he pulled it off quite well, I like it.

Joseph2576

Is it okay if I critique a little? There are two classic mistakes. 1. You need to leave a 3 cm margin on the left and right sides to be able to run a magnet along the side walls. Right now, there is already stagnation there, especially on the right. 2. The stones are beautifully arranged "on their own." There is no space for corals. If you start placing corals, some will cover others. You need to create two gentle slopes from the sides to the center. "A true friend is not the one who sweetens things, but the one who tells the truth."

Steven757

I have three such places where the magnet is stuck - I thought of using a brush on a long handle to clean there.

Nancy

Criticism is very helpful! I don't use a magnet at all - a blade on a stick is great for corals, I will add J.K. (live stones) at the bottom, little by little.

Steven7574

I don't know about Kharkiv, but in Germany, almost all the corals are already on the rocks...

James4757

In Kharkiv, it's hard to find corals, but everything I bought was on small stones, only little mushrooms on the sand.

Bryan1851

Sometimes it's more profitable to buy coral here if you need L.R. (live rock) =)))) because you can really find it on cobblestones.

Omar3497

And I suppose the price of corals is cheaper too?

Jacob7201

not sure at all... 1. I don't know the prices 2. it's subjective - one is bigger, another is smaller...

Lisa

Could you please tell me who this might be? There was a yellow spot on the stone, and in two weeks, this kind of bulb has emerged from it. It might just be a sponge or...

Melissa3200

The remnants of the scariest place. On Sunday, the cyano was raging, but this morning I noticed a significant decrease. Some green growths have started to appear on it, and the quantity has decreased considerably. Actions taken to combat the nuisance: I reduced the light duration by 2 hours, directed the flow more downward, cut back on feeding, I'm not siphoning the sand (collecting debris from the water surface), the light in the algae tank is out of phase with the main one, and I placed the foam skimmer on the wettest foam (I'm very pleased with the octopus reef compared to the Jebao, it works better). And most importantly, "hope." It's still too early to celebrate victory, but it's just around the corner!

Julie

Late.!!!!!!!!!!! It's already time to celebrate - you managed to discover and correctly use the necessary levers - well done!!! As for the light in Samp as a counterphase - I keep thinking about it, but I'm shooting for 24 hours. Should I try it myself??? But I don't have high pH levels and not much fluctuation either.

Wendy8540

If there are no fluctuations, then why? I actually plan to cut for 24 hours too, but I won't do it while I'm fighting.

Amy1672

A-hz - I'm an experimenter. Maybe the principle of contradictions will work, and the RN will go up, which wouldn't be bad for me.

James3382

Sanya PSH is going uphill towards the light, not in the dark.

Tasha

Yes, there's a problem with the jet engine (it seems to have grown a lot). I stopped by yesterday and couldn't resist - two sticks of gargonia, lobophytum, and tiny sarcophyton are already in the aquarium, I'll post a photo in the evening.

Tammy

I know - what if?!

Jacqueline5976

Offtopic suddenly even cats don't ...

Daniel4967

I had a free minute, so I decided to post a photo. The boxer arrived 2 weeks ago, very battered (1/5 of his mustache, a broken paw, and very lethargic). The day before yesterday, he shed his coat—he's just gorgeous now, but he doesn't want to pose.

Curtis9143

What are the cool blue sticks called?

Rodney

What do you feed the gorgonian? I assume it has been in the system for no more than 3 weeks? Does it recover polyps?

Corey3201

gorgonaria I just planted it yesterday, didn't feed it anything. It arrived with the last shipment, but I don't know about the polyps.

Angel2396

Is she some kind of photosynthetic?

Travis572

I will answer for Slava. I think he won't mind. It's been in the system for about a month, and it was with the supplier for some time. It arrived in a condition that, to put it mildly, was not great. It has shed its skin and is visually regenerating quite well. It wasn't fed specifically; plankton and sulfur were added to the system, along with Sechem (the one that is PLUS). Well, Slava's conditions are better than what I had in the frag tank.

Nicholas5194

From the penultimate shipment. At least. We ordered another color, with wheels, we'll see how it goes.

Jeffrey6189

Absolutely no problem. Moreover, I'm not really aware of the history of coral.

Christopher

I would like to.

Ryan1989

Offtopic I'm signing up for a fragment.

Joseph

Sure, no problem.

Brian7092

Now I will have to handcuff myself to the radiator and throw the key out the window, as the desire to feed the blue sticks of the reef plus has not left my mind since last night.

Katie4842

Rif+ is not for blue sticks, but for the aquarium as a whole. For blue ones, something like Prodibio or Fiton, Zooton.

John5528

Sir, which company produces the medications with these names? The sulfur is running out, so I need to get more.

Mary

here

Sheila1322

Thank you, now no one will die of hunger.

Christopher

I found a very agile isopod (just reactive) about 3mm in the algae tank, which started moving around after I fed the daphnia with artemia. At first, I was a bit nervous because there are many parasites among them (both on shrimp and fish), but then I learned that this is a Cirolanidae, a beneficial scavenger. The photo is not very good (it is very fast and small).

Ronald

It might help to take out the sprayers once a week and put snails in them in a small container (so to speak - a pit stop). In theory, if you place nets in the foam that prevent the snails from climbing out, you could try to grow small species of snails there (the food and oxygen should barely be enough, and maybe it would even be possible to keep filter feeders - "biofilter on filter feeders").

Andrew419

I feed my ones finely grated squid (it sticks best to the tentacles - but first, you need to tease them with the smell to fully open the tentacles) at least once a week.

Nancy758

Thank you for the advice (I thought about owls and bats), insects are more likely to get into the display during the day when I air out the room (it happens very rarely - flies, wasps, midges), at night everything is sealed off - my wife doesn't like insects. The samph is covered with a lid that has a hole for the pen.

Tracy

The observations are correct regarding the harmful influence of insects that penetrate the surface of the marine aquarium water in the evening and at night, especially since some of them are poisonous. In one public aquarium located in a room where the doors are not closed until midnight, the same picture is observed—Xenia has died, while the anemones and some corals appear to be depressed.

Daniel4967

I think the most dangerous thing is the moths and night butterflies whose wings are covered in pollen, which Ksenia probably enjoys eating, and then they can't properly pump water in their bodies (Ksenia looks as if she is tied with thin fishing line in the middle of each polyp) – a terrifying sight.

Amber

Today the umbrellas arrived, and it turned out that some are growing on live mussels. They sway beautifully when the filter closes. There was also a beautiful stomatella on a stone, and there are these snails (maybe someone knows something about them?). Cyanobacteria are still present, but much less (the sand was siphoned during the water change 6 days ago, and this Saturday I will vacuum the stones).

Brent5588

A good stone with umbrellas, they fluoresce beautifully. If it's not a secret, where and how much? And the snail—I don't know the name, but they are excellent fallers.

Jason

I bought it at a flea market from.

Anne4851

How much do such stones cost in Ukraine? In Germany, they are around 50-60 euros... you can even find them for 40.

Christopher1252

Somewhere around that.

Heather6148

The great paddler turned out to be a big fan of fresh umbrellas; I watched his meal for about 15 minutes, but I couldn't hold out any longer. And somewhere else, there's another such paddler lurking around. The nibbled zoatnus hasn't opened for two hours. The photo from around the corner didn't turn out very well.

Amanda5586

One more question. Strombus have built "sand castles" several times (a pile approximately 5 by 3 cm), and all of this is glued together; is this how they lay their eggs or...?

Diana7891

I have that too, sometimes I pull sticky threads with sand behind me, I don't know what it is.

Stephanie3084

And this is what they wove together like a nest of threads overnight, and it’s solid, you can move it along the bottom. Maybe it’s crap... sorry.

Amy

Are you sure they were eating umbrellas?

Diana7891

Yeah, this snail is exactly the same.

Ryan

In the first photo, I thought it looked different... Then remove it - no snail, no problems =)

Tasha

I removed one, I'm hunting for the second.

William

harpoon or long tweezers to help you)

Adrienne

Yes, I will catch her with my teeth, like a shark, using Lorenzini ampoules, and I will be on the lookout.

Hunter1471

The second snail has been caught, I hope I won't see any more of them.

Craig7302

Has anyone fed corals with Artemia eggs? Please let me know how to do it, should I just throw them into the aquarium or do I need to do something with them before adding?

Scott9892

My fish are somewhat reluctant to eat... I turn off the current and spray from a syringe near the corals, carnivorous ones... But they prefer artemia and other meat more...

Angela

The question is whether to feed with nauplii or just with egg?

Ryan2281

Why is it necessary? It is possible, it can be something else... After all, there is special plankton for corals...

Diana3118

I didn't ask what to feed, but whether incubation of the eggs is needed before feeding or if they can be sprinkled in right away.

Charles5941

Incubation is needed.

Matthew

It seems that eggs (not nauplii) can also be used as feed. However, it seems that the protective shell needs to be dissolved. Instructions on how to do this are written in the incubation guidelines.

Meghan

Are you referring to decapsulation?

Chad4168

Here Sanek described the method of decapsulation.

Joseph9057

Last night, I received a yellowtail chrysiptera. The courier was very pleased; the box was lying on its side. When I asked why it was placed on its side despite the label saying "Top," she replied, "But I was very careful." There was little water in the bag, and the fish probably traveled uncomfortably, so upon arrival, it looked like this. Perhaps the courier is not to blame; the fish likely came from the wheels. In any case, it doesn't matter anymore—after hiding among the rocks for a day, the chrysiptera is now hiding in the trash can. From now on, I will only buy fish that have been temporarily kept.

Holly

I sympathize! From the wheels - it's like a roulette, some people even get lucky with idols and live, while others lose even the simplest specimens. I also stick to the method of keeping them for a while...

Ryan

It's a mystery; the fish arrived in early August, I adapted it to the water for 1.5 hours, then released it into the aquarium. I will try again.

Chad231

I recently released a goby into the aquarium in the evening... no one has seen it since - that's a mystery...

Thomas

Well, it may still appear, as it is listed as missing.

Frederick

It's been 5 days without ... maybe he just went on a bender.

Megan

They can sit in the sand for up to 2 weeks.............although maybe not.

Steven

Odessa, a guban-tor in the sand? I've never encountered it anywhere... then there is hope!!!

Vanessa

no, if the tor................to is done for him.

Jason9385

I only engaged in such "perversion" with the wunderkind - but she still died after a week, while I just poured the fish from the bag into the aquarium without any translations; the only loss was Helmon, and even that was probably not because of this.

Michael3221

Well, for me it's a "ritual or tradition" that is always observed, even since the early days (it seems that fish can experience shock from sudden changes in temperature and water parameters).

Deborah2682

Well, I'll pour a couple of syringes of aquarium water into the bag in about 20 minutes, and then they'll be ready to swim.

Elijah7048

I mostly translate for half an hour too, but here the fish arrived in a small bag, with about 300 grams of water, looking very bad—so I added my water more gradually.

Marie5348

It all depends on the very actinics and reflectors. For example, when I had a 150-watt Giesemann + 2x24 blue, it was just right. Now I have a similar one in Kyiv, but from Aquamedic - it's the same. They just have good reflectors. And the Aquamedic lamps themselves are quite good too. Plus, when you start stocking hard corals, you'll still have to install metal halides... Almost certainly, otherwise there won't be proper color or growth, or you'll have to rely heavily on chemicals.

Brent7831

There may be some harsh ones, but that's a different matter. The lamp I have is homemade, so taking out the LED (and putting it in the cabinet to wait for its time) and installing the fluorescent lamp is not a problem. I just want to try to change something, possibly for the better.

Selena4467

Well, if it's that simple, of course! An experiment is always (almost) for the good! =)

Zachary

When my soft corals are illuminated, brown shades start to dominate (perhaps the Jebo 1400 lamp is not the best option, but there are still many reviews from respected aquarists stating that both soft and hard corals have better colors under LED lamps).

John5528

I just accidentally noticed some baby tubastrea (they are located on the back side of the stones, and from the inconvenient side of the sump). About 15 little ones, sitting and looking at me with hungry tentacles. However, remnants of powerless cyanobacteria are still visible in some places.

Kevin8087

Congratulations! But mine are withering, even though I feed them every two to three days... They seem to be quite unusual.

Stephen5857

I feed once a week and every two days after the lights are turned off, I sprinkle a little cyclops ice cream throughout the aquarium.

Mary

New tenants have arrived (though one is eating and the other is not, I hope everything will be fine). As for losses, there’s only the gorgonaria (I don’t count the chrysurus since it arrived almost dead). Cyanobacteria is still present in some areas; I’m already tired of it, but I don’t want to use chemicals. I installed a pump in the sump with a flow rate of 2000 l/h (though it doesn’t start on its own after a power outage, but that happens very rarely; we’re on the same line as the police, prosecutor's office, traffic police, and court, all gathered in my yard). I fashioned something like a skimmer to collect the film from the surface as best as I could.

Jeffrey

The water doesn't flow from the pump (because it's directed upwards?). Be careful with Ksyusha, or you won't get rid of her later... And Cyan, check the foam or the feed... But I think it will resolve itself...

Spencer7805

It gurgles, I just don't like the current, it seems too much for softness, so I'm spinning it wherever it goes. Ksyusha is sitting on separate pieces of stone, under close watch, and suddenly—what is writhing mercilessly.

Erin2730

Move the pump closer to the rear window and direct it towards the middle of the windshield; then the flow will be everywhere, it will disperse and become laminar... At least give it a try...

Barbara

After four months of living (dying), the star began to break apart into pieces. A grim sight.
