Where to start building! Now I've started thinking about what to do next! If you have the time and desire to help build a small sea, I ask everyone to provide advice. I think I need to build a sump, the question is what equipment to buy?? and where I want to buy on ebay, I've read the forums to start, I'm ready to post all construction photos as I go, I want soft corals, Nemo, below will be a sump with shrimp, etc! Am I going in the right direction?? what size sump, what substrate? How to treat the aquarium from the old freshwater? I want to install electronics so that it almost does everything itself?! here is the aquarium itself! I want to make a sump (or SEMP as it's called?) in the middle hole, please advise how to best design it, it will have shrimp and other creatures! the aquarium also has holes on the sides for pipes, the question is how to arrange everything, what equipment to install? If possible, omit things like Expensive, Difficult, won't work, someone will start! accumulate a lot of money, etc. I know everything, I understand everything, I ask for help and advice! In gratitude, after breeding, I can share the inhabitants, etc. if they survive, I took the

Wanda666

Yes, I am ready to buy salt, sand, equipment, etc. Everything that is in the photo I sent, and I have a great desire (I can share it for free, I have already infected some others too).

Melissa3200

It's not such a small aquarium, so we need to decide on the stand. As I understand, it's just from the traffic police, and we need a stand with a metal frame for such an aquarium. Otherwise, I'm afraid this stand won't be able to support your marine aquarium. Also, in this stand, there's no visible space to place a proper sump for this volume of 800 liters.

David7773

Hi bro - congrats on such an aquarium!!! Start with the overflow (Durso) and a new stand for the sump - shrimp definitely don't live there.

Tara2761

Everything is done fine there, the square pipe is probably 80 by 40 or more, it used to be fresh and worked!! Thank you for responding!!!!!!!

Michelle

well well...............

Frank7213

Thank you, I agree on how to start drawing or redirecting, sketching!

Tasha

I took a photo from the side, though with my phone.

Jerry

What size should the sample be if my window is open 540x540x510 mm? Is this enough or should I trim the shelves nearby?

Robin

I have seen these names and companies more than once; can I get their phone numbers or find them? There are no problems with the buyer, and I have experience with purchases as well. How do I determine which sample and overflow to make or order?

Zoe7451

The "Rif" banner is displayed on every page - a square on the top left. You should actively look for a guy who can cut a hole in the aquarium on-site and glue in the overflow or you'll have to deal with external overflows. And he was right - just tear everything out of the cabinet - all those little shelves, it's better to have full space there.

Zachary

smart guys, they can help, and you can also order equipment and livestock from them

James4342

Yes, the issue with the boxes is resolved, there won't be any, only electronics, etc. I need to understand which sample to order, and everything else.

Emily

To understand what size sump to order, you first need to know what will be included, what size the skimmer will be, what type of pump will be used for the return (external or internal), how many compartments there will be, and how much will drain from the display when the return is stopped. Once you have this information, you can determine the dimensions of the sump and the height of the baffle, roughly around 150-200 liters.

Dawn6148

Another sailor has appeared. Welcome!

Ronald

With the arrival at sea! And the size is just right! Are there braces on the aquarium? What is the thickness of the glass? Put the cabinet in the oven, because seawater is heavier + sand + stones... But judging by the posts, I understand that you are not particularly constrained in resources, but it would be good to read the forum - this is a must! There are many topics where the setup and design of an aquarium from scratch are described, and 80% of the questions will be resolved immediately...

Jamie3553

I would definitely make a cabinet for such a volume from angle iron and then cover it... it's better to be safe and sleep peacefully without worrying about pests or neighbors below (if there are any)...

Erin2730

People, what are you talking about? This person has written that there is a metal frame and even posted a photo. It would be great to see a photo of the cabinet and the frame from the inside and without the drawers.

Marie5348

Here is the topic, contact them through it, they will provide everything you need, I think it's the best option for you, and then you can order the equipment locally.

Collin

Off-topic This is just like us! First did it, then started thinking! (joke)

Debra6575

Today I visited Max, who kindly invited me to see his Sea. I want to express my gratitude for the attention he gave me, his precious time, explaining everything in detail and showing me around. I haven't met people who are willing to help in a long time. Your support in this conscientious endeavor is a testament to the fact that you are a very good person!

Ronald

I had to break the walls for the aquarium, today I came and saw what was done! In the second photo, there's a cut in the aquarium where I want to install an overflow. What do you recommend? I want to raise the level above the reinforcement.

Julie4738

Wow!!! What a spark!!! With such enthusiasm, everything should work out. Maybe a hole in the bottom after all...?

Kevin

Yes, the wall had to be disposed of (while the remaining part of the wall is visible in the photo), I will install the aquarium there. I want to consider options, and for now, there is no one to make the hole.

Whitney

Well, many people make holes in the bottom themselves and install the shaft... they say it's not difficult... But overall, it's a large-scale approach to the matter.

Tracy

I studied the topic thoroughly - the main tools are a diamond crown and a drill - the crowns seem to be available in the EPC. The main condition is that the surface being drilled must be completely flat, then low speeds and patience. I was ready to drill myself, but since I ordered the aquarium from a professional, I entrusted the drilling to him - when I saw the result, I realized that I would have drilled more carefully myself. The guys drilled the logo for the first time - everyone succeeded.

Elijah7048

For such a volume, you need a shaft; a suspended overflow is not very good, the pumping will be significant. So ask Max who is nearby drilling aquifers and making shafts.

Katherine

the thickness of the glass is 12 mm, the cabinet has a metal profile pipe 80 by 60 mm, I read everything but still have questions

Joshua

If possible, please advise on the option I sent in the photo. Let's consider what can be done to overflow the photo of the window above without drilling.

Tracy

For your volume, it's better not to consider something like this with an overflow.

Kenneth7210

I have two such holes on the other side too!!!

John828

I will drag it to the place where I broke the wall and I will definitely take a photo; I specifically brought a camera today for this purpose.

Brandon4517

Thank you, I read it. But honestly, I’m scared to drill myself, as my acquaintance says, gentlemen!

Christopher3770

I want to raise the level above the window so that it flows into it and create a shaft from the outside. Do they install bottom filters in marine aquariums?

Barbara

And why? Do you want to "drown" the ribs and braces underwater? What kind of view will that be? Drill No, bottom filters are usually not installed.

Hannah

Maybe someone uses a different option for such sizes besides drilling? Do they install bottom ones?????

Ryan2281

Is this amount of foam enough?

Alexandra

Well, it might be enough for the display, but since you are also planning to do Samp, it's unlikely.

Nancy758

Bro, break another wall - there will be a samp standing there with that bucket. Then the whole forum will come to you for excursions - a wonderful sight. Yes - that's an option - a mine, or rather a glass (like I have done) - the idea is not bad - measure exactly how many mm from the top point of the aquarium to the bottom edge of the window. Then everything will be clear. And make two such pockets - for your volume - you mentioned that there is a similar window on the opposite side?

Jennifer

I drilled the glass myself, from 4 to 10 mm in diameter with a 1/2" crown. Not a single puncture. It is done very simply - a piece of particle board, a hole is drilled in it to match the diameter of the hole, it is pressed tightly against the glass at the desired spot, water is poured, and the glass is drilled with a diamond crown. It takes just a couple of minutes.

Tara2761

You didn't understand, you have a pocket inside the aqua, but the author wants "behind the aqua" - these are different things.

Julie

I understood everything - I was talking about the pocket "for" and said so.

Anne

then I didn't understand anything

Christine864

I really don't understand why create such complications for yourself... well, let him drill holes on the side for the drain and return, and there will be a pocket only at the top of the tank, not throughout the entire depth... if he really doesn't want to make a shaft, although with 800 liters, the shaft won't even be visible...

Bridget

The same pocket as mine - just glue it to the back wall - insert the Durso there - and the bottom of the cut-out window will have a grate, through which the water will flow - use the same grate to determine the level that should be in the aquarium, minus 15 mm.

Yvette209

Now take another look at the photo and see at what level the ribs and ties are located - they are below the cut, should I continue or have you already figured it out?

Darrell7542

San, now take another look at the text. And they are not lower, but at the same level as the Kakraz.

Thomas

I have already written about the idea of sinking the ribs and the screeds. They are lower, the screed is 1 cm lower, and the rib is lower by 1 cm plus the width of the screed. Also, as far as I can judge from the photos, these strips on the sides of the "window" are higher than the main aquarium. By the way, there is a topic where it is visible that there are a lot of sailors in Luhansk and nearby, which means that finding a person to drill the aquarium is not a problem, rather than inventing a "bicycle" and sinking the ribs and screeds. By the way, this is 800 liters, there will be corals "until morning," so why these innovations? To demolish walls and not drill the aquarium? I don't understand.

Michael826

It seems like the Aqua is from Aquatiko, I have exactly the same pockets and also after fresh water, I wanted to avoid drilling, but in the end, they made a hole on the side for me: Everyone is fine, but sometimes it gets airlocked and I'm afraid it will overflow at night... but I sleep nearby, a meter away... And the sump was modified from a similar cabinet, it turned out like this: But then I had to dispose of the cabinet and move everything to the frame because it sagged, but yours seems sturdy...

Brenda

Off-topic. Like a real submariner, they actually sleep a few centimeters from the water...

Joseph1346

but it feels like a dream in the bathroom, with such an overflow, I fought it as best as I could, but Dursu is preferable... if the topic starter decides to make an overflow like mine, I'll tell how to deal with bathroom sounds, and by the way, in this version, less water will be used in Samp if, God forbid, the power goes out...

Meghan

Lesha, it's not very difficult to stick a durs in your pocket - there's a tee behind the coupling, and that's it.

Richard

finished with the wall

Deborah2682

I found someone in Luhansk who can drill a hole in the bottom, but they don't guarantee anything if it breaks. They offer to drill for 100, and if it breaks, to glue another piece of glass to the bottom for 300. Should I agree??? Yes, the question is where to drill. Please give me the size; I will send a photo of the inside! Sorry, I haven't cleaned it from the previous owners!

Maria

I didn't say I didn't want to, I wanted to consider the options and understand for myself how to do it! It seems everyone has suggested drilling, now the question is where and what size, etc.

Melissa

Can I see your version? And if possible, Anatoly's version!

Andrew9246

Of course, agree!!! If it's at the bottom, then at least a 40 mm pipe for your volume. The most favored location for the shaft is in one of the corners (right-left), but I personally like it in the middle - check out the topic, he recently launched an aquarium with that layout. I saw it in real life - it looks stunning!!!

Jasmine

give a link

Jeffrey2277

Here you go.

Kathleen

How much will such an aquarium cost? Just glass?

Ross

If you want to go underwater, it's a bit narrow, and a rectangle is more practical, but decide for yourself. Write to them or call tomorrow; the prices are reasonable. P.S. If anything, they can also drill on-site.

Catherine6534

Is there no one in Luhansk who installs aquariums? We have them at every turn))) and they drill too.

Stephen5857

I asked how much it costs, I want to sell it, the old one is left, there are holes, I found one problem!

Heather9815

I agree with Saney - it's problematic to arrange 35 cm stones - many are switching to cubes now, as it's convenient for the stones to fit and there is still operational space in front of the glass for observations. At a height of 75, you can't do without MG light.

Katherine

photos of adapters

Vanessa

Has anyone tried to start metal halide lamps using ballasts and ignitors for sodium lamps (I'm just curious)????

Michelle13

I see everything is moving quite fast.

Tasha

Just imagine the pipes and the corresponding hole for the coupling, which will already be in your hands - then you can drill the required diameter. Taking into account three times the volume of the main aquarium per hour, plus adding half the volume just in case, you'll find your pipe: 25 mm - max 1500 l/h 32 mm - max 2500 l/h 40 mm - max 3800 l/h 50 mm - max 6000 l/h 63 mm - max 9500 l/h 75 mm - max 13500 l/h The diameter of the pipes is external. You can't rely on standards here - call him, he has really excelled in this field, but the price is worth what he will do...

John3432

YES, NOT THAT WORD JUST FLIES! I'm studying samples for now.

Kevin3114

I found a guy who also broke the wall for the aquarium, so I'm not the only one, which is nice.

Joseph6461

I gave you the drawing considering what is convenient, functional, and tested. There are plenty of these pictures online, each sample is unique. So choose, but they may not be functional:

Alexandra

Yes, I stopped at it! I just dropped it in case someone might need it someday! How can I divide a sample of 1600 mm into several parts????

Brian

Didn’t understand the question?

Laura3615

It's a bad thing, there's metal, you need this and this. In the second one, resin is poured, it is inserted into the first one and connected after osmosis. What you bought is used as a filter (coarse or fine, who knows) and is installed in the pipes at the inlet. You can place it before osmosis to prevent the cartridges from clogging as much, or you can not install it at all, but it's definitely better not to use it for resin.

Theresa5149

If you want to assemble an MH lamp yourself, then go here to read, and you should decide on the type of light (T5 or MH). It's better to take an electronic ballast, as it doesn't damage the lamp and doesn't heat up, but it's twice as expensive as an electromagnetic ballast, though it's worth it considering the cost of MH lamps! T5 will also work well (about 8 pieces of 80W or more, there are fixtures up to 1800mm long), plus they won't heat the water like MH and the price will be lower.

Christopher3770

Max, he means to insert the partitions, as I understood it))!

Diana3118

It's been a while since I wrote! Up to this moment, I have bought: Eheim Universal Pump 1260, 1.7 m cord, 2400 l/h. Hydor Koralia Evolution circulation pump, 5200 l/h. Aqua Medic Filter Bag 1 for filter media. AQUA MEDIC pH meter electrode. AD-905 computer. Level sensor. Electric valve + power supply. PRO-REEF sea salt 25 kg. START UP 6. BIODIGEST 30. BIOPTIM 30. Easy Vital 500 ml. Ion exchange resin MB-50. In general, due to work, I don't have much time to dedicate, but I'm slowly moving in the right direction! I have a question: what kind of shaft should I make, which is better?

Debra6575

I prefer the second option since the aquarium will be placed and viewed from both sides? Yes, they made me a sump!

Troy8808

Here is the result itself! The drawings and design were provided by MAX! (for which I am very grateful!)

Maria6659

the panorama distorts the image...

Elizabeth6302

Can you provide more details about the samp? Where is everything located from left to right or vice versa?

Elizabeth6302

Yes, I haven't figured it out myself yet! If it's possible, advice about the mine.

John3432

Well, personally, I'm for the mine on the right because I wanted one like that and made it happen. There are many advantages, but there are also some negative points compared to the classic version.

Andrea8397

I chose option 1 because in the second one the pipes stick out; if that doesn't bother you, then it doesn't really matter... I'm just looking at everything from an aesthetic point of view.

Heather6148

Indeed, why do they draw a "pocket shaft" with a hole in the side wall??? I made the hole in the back and nothing sticks out in plain sight. And I also don't like panoramic glass - even flat glass distorts, and convex glass even more so.

Heather9815

I decided to delete the photos for now. I will write later. If you have any advice, please let me know.

Leah

If you were shaping the mine, why didn't you make a return there and instead took it outside? And isn't the height of the pedestal quite significant? Will you be able to pull out the pen if needed?

Joseph6461

Yes, there was a problem with the foam, but removing the foam is as practiced as disassembling an AK-47. I was mistaken about the ultraviolet light; you can't remove the lamp, but I'll fix it later.

Craig7302

Well, I don't know, I decided that it would be better this way.

Angela7060

Why are the pipes sticking out? At least you could have hidden them in the edge, but now they are just sticking out... or is aesthetics not critical for you?

Gary6376

Yes, the whole niche will be covered there! That's why I brought it up, it's not evening yet.

William1830

Please advise if anyone has encountered a way to create a fully automated system for an aquarium computer "without human intervention," such as water changes, for example, in the photo of the aquarium computer above.

Michele

You can also add a coral reproduction function. The danger is that at some wonderful moment the computer will crash, and you'll have a dead sea on several floors... and you'll ruin your own as well... The fewer common nodes, the better and safer.

Gene1948

The computer is cool... but I've also heard that there can be failures... so I plugged in controllers - and expensive ones too = and they connect the same way... so set it up - BUT constant monitoring.

Shelby3182

What else needs to be added? And the question of whom to accommodate? Where to start? Where to buy decorations? Maybe someone will make them?

Cheryl9296

So, the decorations are sand and J.K. (live stones)... And the background is blue or black - as you like. And you have written 1 pump for the current, it seems... you can confidently put 4 for your aquarium...

Cynthia

Make sure to add a current! At least 2-3 pumps, and make them powerful... Live rocks (J.K.) + dry reef rocks (S.R.K.) to taste, sand to taste, live or not... At least 100 liters of live water... And wait at least 3-7 days, then you can introduce some hermit crabs and snails, and put a Ksyusha on a separate rock to liven up the picture. After another week, something more interesting (like 2 ocellaris) can be added... and observe...

Kevin8087

There are pumps! Besides stone, I want to add decorations. I can't place a background since the aquarium is visible from both sides. Who makes decorations on order?

Gabrielle5053

They don't put decorations in the sea - everything is made from live rocks (J.K.) or dry reef rocks (S.R.K.). You take the stones and place them as you envisioned. The main thing is to think about what you want... For example, I don't like a lot of clutter, but many people don't mind... Look at the aquarium, it has a decoration made from live rocks (J.K.) - but she really struggled to make it. Check out mine - it's primitive, but interesting, although it was a bit stressful too...

Timothy

the aquarium was freshwater before, in general I didn't change it, but it seems convenient to climb there (nothing to compare with)

Cynthia

more photos

George5104

I planned for the exhaust to be forced at the bottom and the top. I'm sending a photo of the hole for the exhaust, and later there will be wiring for the sump and the aquarium.

Shelby3182

Well, no one turns on UV permanently... only during the settling/treatment period. And it's not worth hanging it on the main pump; it's better to use a secondary pump - a low-power one.

Yolanda

I will connect it to the aquarium computer, and the cross-sections there are fine, so if it just hangs, I don't think it will be a problem!

Angela

The question is whether the salt will dissolve in the area of the samp where the water is flowing like a waterfall. Will it mix?

Matthew7977

Salting (additional salting) must be done with preliminary aeration - definitely.

Michelle104

how is it?

Javier5186

The right solution is to hope that it will justify itself 100%. I have two side exhausts on the sides of the cabinet with the aquarium. Inside, there are fans for forced air extraction, and still - just yesterday I had to additionally treat the frame and the hinges on the doors with anti-corrosion and primer (it has been standing for a year)....

Phyllis

Brining in a separate container (I have a 40-liter plastic bucket) we dose the salt, osmosis water, and a small pump overnight - enriching with oxygen, and in the morning we do the brining by adding through the sump.... Many know to do it exactly this way - maybe someone does it differently....

Ronald

Will your wife kick you out of the house? Mine would throw me out for such messes and holes. Salt will mix in any container... I mixed it right in the aquarium and then added the sand...

Ryan7682

That's a good question!! The struggle against it is going well for now! In general, I had to sweet-talk a bit! Plus, the phrase like "Then instead of this activity, I'll drink beer with the guys" helped, of course the second option is cheaper, but it worked!!!!

Thomas1044

I hope he/she doesn't read it.

Monica

Nothing, take a trip for fish and corals - it will melt.

Sharon

A serious sea is taking shape, as they say, POSEIDON is here to help you!

Mitchell3177

Odessa, yes, the size is just right.

Shawn

I read and read - I couldn't find the characteristics of the skimmer. What volume is it for? In general, if you take your time with such a volume, it will turn out beautifully!!!

Susan

And who is the master of the house? You just need to empathize; not everyone is given a life under someone's thumb. +100.

James3382

I take my time and approach, first breaking down the rooms, then building them up, and so on. Thank you to Max for teaching me wisdom and understanding in this challenging task.

Melinda2740

You can understand it however you want. And not everyone is given intelligence! In a happy family, the wife thinks that money comes from the drawer, the husband thinks that food comes from the fridge, and the children think they were found in the cabbage. Today, my wife and I were fixing the electronics together.

Aaron580

Offtopic: someone finds somewhere... someone loses somewhere... everything is relative...

Denise

As practice shows, "soulmates" are only strict at first, and then it's "oh my, look at this little fish, should we buy it?!!!" (with an affirmative tone) or "oh my! What a beautiful coral!!!", but when you mention the equipment: "will it be better with those corals and Vasya and Petya (for example, clowns)? Then of course we need it!!!"

Joseph6461

Off-topic. As for me, it would be better if their interest in our matter was limited to just that, and that the pointing finger wouldn't indicate where I should put things, what to install, and where to screw things in...

Bonnie

On the contrary, I'm just glad—I'll do it my way in 90% of cases anyway...

Tanner

Off-topic is also an option...

Michelle9986

It's very interesting to follow the topic, especially the posts related to the aquarium.

David953

Off-topic. People, the person's topic is about an aquarium - not about their relationship with their spouse... let's not ruin this topic for them - maybe just open a separate topic "The Attitudes of Loving Wives Towards Our Hobbies"?

Jennifer7578

I agree with you, I actually do all of this for my family, especially for my little daughter. Today we were screwing screws together with a screwdriver (I won't hide that I'm also interested, this work has captivated me) and I haven't done anything with my hands for about 10 years, as my work is mostly office-based.

Janet5447

It's unfortunate that there are no connection diagrams for the aquarium computer. It would be better to distribute the phases with a common neutral for each channel at 220 volts, but as it is, I'll have to run two wires to be safe.

Andrew9581

By the way, if you have any criticism, feel free to suggest how to do it better; I would appreciate it. YES, IF SERGEY INTER READS THIS ARTICLE, HE DEFINITELY DESERVES A SMALL KEG OF BEER!

Shelby3182

Yes, yes, that thought crossed my mind too!!!!!!!

Danielle

Do you have enough outlets? I have 24, for example. Be careful with the auto refill - if there's a failure and the sensors are not working or didn't trigger, you'll have all 200 liters on the floor.

Michelle5859

These are sockets controlled from the computer, there will also be unmanaged ones, just an extension cord, and on top, I will be covering it for the hood, there will be a lot of things. I was thinking about this; I want to install another float for the system's automatic refill that is not dependent on the computer. How can I automate the water replacement (I'm lazy)?

Emily3144

Are there devices for automatic measurement and dosing of salt?

Brianna

What heater to install for 900 liters??? 250 watts is clearly not enough ))))))

Stephanie3084

Salt is maintained in the reef by itself, just don't touch the system... a 250W heater will be more than enough, as during the day you'll have to cool it down from the MH (if you install it) - ideally, you need 1W per 1L, which means 800W would be quite a heater... There are plenty of auto top-offs available, both expensive and cheaper. Off-topic, if you need a Tunze, I can give you mine - it's powerful for me, I installed it and immediately removed it, bought an ATO - but it would be perfect for you...

Eric

So how can you automatically make a substitution if you don't add salt to the barrel????

Rebecca1419

Water evaporates, not salt. You just need to add osmosis, and that's it. The salt will always be in the norm. It may decrease if you scoop out salty water and add osmosis. Otherwise, everything will be fine. And don't forget that salinity varies at different temperatures.

Jenny

auto top-up or auto water replacement??? What exactly? There are a certain number of auto top-ups. But I haven't encountered auto water replacement... And I don't think it's necessary at all...

Amber

I have a small osmosis hose running under the baseboard - it provides the top-off (in my opinion, this was the simplest issue). The main thing is to properly and confidently manage the top-off control and water level - otherwise, when you leave, you'll constantly be thinking about the neighbors. I would also initially check the water coming from your osmosis system after purification (at least with a TDS meter). In Dnipro, even after osmosis, three canisters of coarse filtration, and two canisters with resin, the water still wasn't great. As a result, I added another compartment with osmosis - it significantly improved life in the aquarium.

Rebecca

I made an auto refill system, it works, and I want to create an AUTOMATIC WATER REPLACEMENT! The idea is to set up a 300-liter tank, fill it with water from the osmosis system, and add salt. Then, I can change the water from the computer or any electronics, for example, 10 liters every day or once every two weeks! Mixing salt in the water manually every two months or every month?

Jason9952

I initially wrote that I want to create a fully autonomous system! For the lazy (that is, for me)!

Jacob7201

Some people don't change the water at all or do it very rarely... especially in such a large system...

Timothy

I will change it! How to do it? Automatically? Today I tested the system. I can't fill the aquarium completely with the osmosis water, how long should I wait? I'm out of patience!

Noah1632

Well, you definitely won't find that here... but it's easy and simple to do - you just mix salty water in your barrel and set up the flow... then you post on the forum that nothing is growing for you - and everyone bombards you with rotten tomatoes referring to the previous posts! Do you even understand what 800 liters is for the SEA!!! And what the sea is - it's not freshwater - you don't need to leach out nitrates here. Why do you need replacements in such quantities?

Joshua9847

I do water changes in my 500-liter aquarium every two months, no more than 10% of the volume. I don't understand why you need to do these changes so often... Moreover, even if there were complete automation, you would still need to be present near the aquarium for maintenance for at least an hour every day (cleaning the glass, feeding the fish, corals, maintaining the sump...).

Michele9664

I make the first water change after launching the aquarium no earlier than 3-4 months after the start. Then, there is a light cleaning once a month either in the sump or in the aquarium itself, which includes (stirring up the planaria, collecting detritus if there are accumulations). In general, about 20-25 liters once a month.

Andrea8397

The maximum replacement per month is 15%, which is approximately 100-120 liters. It's not that much to involve hands instead of inventing a bicycle with electronics.

Erica752

The aquarium will still take a decent amount of time. How often do people clean the glass and the sump? I clean the glass with a magnet every day, and once a week I use a blade where it has grown heavily. And every two weeks I do a water change and pump out the dirt from the sump; I'm curious if it accumulates there for many people?

Aaron580

I don't touch the samps at all, I clean the glass once every few days. I changed the water once in 3 months (I plan to do partial water changes of 10% once a month or every two months).

Robert

Yes, I also clean the magnet every day or every other day... and I clean the glass about once a month before the replacement... I haven't cleaned the sump yet, but I should... Somewhere the antifos washed out of the bag, somewhere just dirt...

Chelsea

What to add to the samp for water purification? Charcoal? Sponge? What to do to filter out fine floating particles? I'm closing the question about auto replacement! The wings have been trimmed! ))))

Jessica6754

What is the purpose of such frequent substitution? From what sources is the information about the refills taken, and do the parameters of the cans match?

Monique1236

A special bag is put on the drain to collect fine dirt. Sometimes, a sponge is also placed on the glass of the overflow in the sump, along with coal and antifos.

Christopher1252

I read on the forums that it's necessary to change often! Probably a mistake!

Andrew4194

Is there a photo to look at?

Chris

What kind of suspension do you have in the freshly prepared water? Either the salt hasn't completely dissolved yet. Wait a day or two. It's too early to add the carbon, but I have the anti-phosphate for you, so you can come and get it.

Sherri1320

Okay, thanks.

Meghan

I forgot to tell everyone: Sensei allowed me to start pickling, and I did the pickling!!! So yesterday was the beginning! Can I consider myself a sailor now, or not yet? When should I put on my epaulettes?? :-)

Tracey

here are the photos of the salting and the weight

Karen2578

some debris is floating around in the aquarium

Dawn6148

when you eat a pound of sea salt or when you bury yourself in sand and stones)

Catherine

I think you need one more pump to properly circulate the salt... make a proper water run, and you will be happy... And since you've already gone down this path, I’ll tell you right away to buy two cheap pumps with sponges - after you put in the sand, everything will be as smooth as milk... it took almost a week for mine to clear up. And turn off the normal pumps or even remove them...

Jessica6754

What do I need to fill with sand and stones??? I thought it would be enough to just release the fish and that's it?

Debra6575

Yes, you can) also plastic corals and fish on the control panel.

Kayla7655

Have you seen its volume? The entire feed of the "Titanic" and DiCaprio will fit in there. In essence, the sediment will gradually settle. Moreover, it will also settle on the glass. But we just need to wait. It might take a week.

Charles4157

Off-topic from... I saw it, and a little worm settled in my soul, hinting to me: "Maybe forget about these 330 liters and let's jump to 700-800?" I would kill it!!!

Selena4467

I poured in sand, the water got cloudy, I made a filter from aquarium sponge and synthetic padding for clothing, I don't know if it's right. I turned it off at night, the water hasn't settled. Did I do it right?

Brent7831

I don't want to wait a week! I bought 2 squares of synthetic winterizer, I can still stuff it into the sample. ))))

Tricia7885

Guys, do you know if the forum supports camera API? I will set up an online aquarium for the forum, how to do it? )))) Has anyone done something like this?

Courtney4094

Is this kind of box worth buying?

Tasha

Off-topic. Well, right now... But they will stay clean for a very long time. Maybe the first stripe will only appear on them after a year...

Amanda

Sure, I love growth, and service is not just a call.

Nicholas2252

Yes, after several hours of filtration, the flight is normal, the aquarium has brightened significantly, and the filter is working!

Cynthia

You could not put the syntopon, the soil and stones would still work, it's still too early to populate it with living creatures, but since it's already laid down, let it stay for now. However, once you are fully operational, it needs to be removed to prevent dirt accumulation; the "biofiltration" and foam separator will take care of the waste.

Charles894

It's been 3 hours, maybe a little more, and the aquarium is almost clean! Awesome, who said it would take a week?????????

Brandon9634

Well, I threw a live bait, apparently you threw another one - a heavier one. My fraction is almost like dust...

Whitney

I came and checked at 16:00, the water is amazing. I'm sending a photo, it's like a tear. I didn't even think it would clean so well, of course, I'll clean it up later.

Amber9312

And then Ostap went off )) The water is not yet brine - you'll see when the maturation process is complete. If it's already salted - when do you plan to add the rock? Or with such a volume, you don't mind evaporating the salted water? When will you add the J.K. (live rocks) - the water won't stay clean for long... Be patient and everything will be good. Such a volume won't mature quickly.

Stephanie4990

I have a penny that is driving me crazy, what should I do? I turned everything down to the minimum, but it's still going strong. If I let it go, I'll lose everything!

Andrea8397

I think I'll put it when Sensei (Max) gives the go-ahead!

Debra6575

penny

Dennis

He drives out one foam, and to avoid draining, he placed synthetic padding at the bottom of the foam separator.

Anne

Stones from the Black Sea are off-topic. And in the foam maker, maybe the water level needs to be lowered so it doesn't create so much foam?

Amber1273

The water level in the sump is high, the foam needs to be raised further.

Holly

how much? in cm

Robert

Try about 5 centimeters, but in general, it should be done by trial and error, so that it doesn't push out water and the right foam starts to form. You can also reduce the air intake with the valve.

Thomas5021

Try turning it off and then turning it back on after 5 minutes, or better yet, wait for the creatures to settle in before drawing conclusions.

Curtis9143

Okay. Which air intake valve do I not have?

Jill9137

This model does not have a faucet. Look, maybe we made a mistake with the water level.

Brenda

the level there is significantly lower than what is stated in my instructions, which is 180-260 mm

James5032

This is when it's unclear, we read the instructions, it states the level there.

Kimberly3727

I made 230 mm.

Jason9385

So everything is correct, the instructions say: Water level in sump - 180mm min 260mm max So we need to wait for the fish to do their business.

Deborah2682

I'm waiting!!!!!

Rita

How they mess around, whistle, we'll see.

Destiny

The shell is beautiful, better to remove it, otherwise it won't wash off later.

Jennifer5784

Let the second one stay with me in the sideboard!

Matthew

Why is a penning needed now? There's no one there - just sand and saltwater. If it's "to get used to it" - but the delteks, this isn't Chinatown, they start working in about 4-6 hours (according to reviews on the logo). If you really want it - let it get agitated, let the foam flow into the aquarium - there's no dirt there anyway for now. They usually opened it with lacquer.

Megan

Have you considered that the shell is covered with technical lacquers and that it really doesn't belong there - otherwise, it could lead to a whole lot of trouble later on... And the pen will stop being angry as soon as the fence and protein sections come into play - all sorts of little shells.

Mario

How many kilograms of paste went into such a jar?

Ronald5720

kolkhoz shell

Julie4738

To me, such shells are like plastic in the aquarium.

Andrew419

Yes, there is no varnish checked! Maybe you are right, but I wanted it this way.

Jennifer5784

60 kg and in the samp 10 kg

Kenneth2761

And when I finish my design experiments, we can talk about what doesn't work for whom! For now, I've just thrown it in; I want to sink the ship, but this shell ruins the proportions! It was a good suggestion to put it on the shelf next to it. Maybe I'll do that!

Sheila1322

Most likely, this (pseudo-sea with Black Sea pebbles, ships, and empty shells) will pass when a normal stone is placed in the aquarium, and all of the above will be "an eyesore." Although, to each their own...

Larry

I want to create something different from everyone else. I browse all the forums, and everything seems so similar (sorry if I'm wrong). Maybe someone can suggest something truly amazing, incredibly beautiful, divinely cool, handcrafted, handwritten, ocean-themed!!! PLEASE HELP WITH THE DESIGN!

Christopher3770

this is an eternal question at the start... And the most difficult question... take a look at the tanks on the central reef - there are many interesting ones.

Michelle9986

Today I poured the startup and some other ampoules.

Jason5071

Can I have the links, please?

Brandy

Any RIF - corals beautify!!! Grow up - and happiness will come to you.

Earl

I personally really like the aquarium theme.

Julie4738

photo

Rick

Well, tell me, why is everything somehow uniformly beautiful? Can't we show off a bit?

Danielle8118

IS IT LIKE THIS OR NOT?

Stephanie4990

Well, it's unlikely with the ship! But if it turns out like in the photo, then "the rank insignia of a naval colonel" is guaranteed.

Joseph2576

I WILL STRIVE FOR THE GENERAL! And it will turn out badly anyway!

Jennifer

Good luck! But it's better not to put ships, divers, etc.

Linda

start looking here...the aquariums are just amazing!

Scott9892

You can set up a round aquarium of about 5 tons (or more), put a couple of sharks in there, and feed them something "live." There is no video of this on the forum yet.

Laurie3842

is in the target audience - looks super

Caitlin3279

We have them in our oceanarium too. You watch like you're hypnotized, amazing creatures.

Heather

Do you have an aquarium???

Christopher4125

In Odessa, there is also a small shark and many fishermen; it seems that he collected all of this and provides services.

Brandon9634

In the Kharkiv dolphinarium "Nemo" there are. Not Okinawa or other giants, about 20-30 large tanks with a variety of contents.

Holly

well, if it's an aquarium...

Jeffery7866

Well, how can we in the "village" compare to the "capital"?

Joshua

Gentlemen, everyone is in Paris (c) Sharikov

Erica

What do villages and capitals have to do with it? Maybe I'm not right, but in my view, an aquarium is something big... it's not 10 tanks of half a ton each.

Lynn4242

I think the topic starter is not very interested in discussing "aquariums" in his thread. In a couple of hours, I will gladly chat with you in private. And the comment about the villages was a joke.

Timothy

Guys, don't clutter the topic!!!!!

Laura3615

How long should you wait after the startup to throw in a live stone, and can you buy back the stone you liked from Sergey?

Daniel132

A week has already passed since the upload, now it can be done.

Charles5941

After the upload, yes, but I sent the startup on Saturday.

Justin

You should have laid the stones right away... you shot the bacteria, but you're holding back the food for them to reproduce. Just lay them down and let everything develop.

Brent8919

Done! The settlement is small! This is what I could buy for now. We are working on the rest.

Richard

Nothing is growing for me!!!!!

Cheryl9296

how many minutes should it grow???? ))))))

James5032

Don't poke around too much, Ksenia - otherwise, you won't be able to cut it out later, even if you want to.

Holly

Yes, they came to me with a stone, what to kill?

Anthony

for the future Let them stay there.

William1830

Good little stones! Well, now with the launch, just watch what little bugs will crawl out from the stones.

Christine864

The stones have been in the aquarium for six months, so they can already be taken out, but the fresh ones need to be caught.

Joseph

I thought it was fresh... but it turns out it's pickled S.R.C. (dry reef stones)

Meghan

There are no live ones, only one that has already been in a person's aquarium; currently, there are no offers for fresh ones.

Rebecca1419

The gray pebbles with a white stripe from the Black Sea should be removed... They look somehow out of place. They are cobblestones, without pores, just regular gravel.

Jennifer5784

Essentially, this is already "soaked S.R.K. (dry reef rocks)"; what is the advantage of the rocks? It's in the fresh bacteria and the life that came from the sea. The rocks that have been sitting in the aquarium for a long time have already given up everything that was alive in them and now only function as a filter. After all, it's no coincidence that many recommend changing the rocks at least partially every two years. Well, that's my opinion; I prefer fresh ones and enjoy seeing what comes out of them.

Melanie

I really like them, let them lie there for now.

Cassandra1840

Yes, I'm waiting for the stone J.K. (living stones)

Joseph6461

I agree that changing 20 kg at once is risky, but gaining a couple of kg in a month or two is not a problem, even if it means going through a week-long quarantine to avoid unwanted residents. However, everyone has their own perspective. Look at the USA, Canada, etc. — they all use S.R.C. (dry reef rocks), and it's not at all due to a lack of money (considering their systems).

Andrea9320

a will be in October.

Katie3017

Did you make the background yourselves or buy it?

Judy

Jewel Rock. I only trimmed it and pressed it in the trimming spots. Rare crap, it peeled off after a month...

Laura3615

I put some green stuff in the sump, forgot what it's called, coal, and some anti-stuff with memory, it's tough! The aquarium seems to be starting to grow algae.

John

Is it antifos? But it doesn't seem to be green... at least not for me...

Natasha7622

It seems to be a metamorph. And why coal and antifos at the start?

Tanner

Please explain, I am not yet a sailor and do not know the nuances. I am just learning.

Theresa5149

Don't you have anything to clean yet? Hetamorph is good - it will help in the fight against the lower ones... but coal and antifos are still useless. What you really need is to buy tests - you can't do without them. Do you have anything at all? Are you measuring anything?

Sara4035

Yes, there are some. What needs to be measured and what should the numbers be?

Debbie3587

Antifos and carbon won't hurt even at the start. It will take as much as it needs if there are silicates in the water or phosphates. It is now starting to load the CRK system, live rocks, and other organisms; it won't be worse - it's a precaution.

Kevin

What nonsense is this? If I haven't had phosphates from the start until now, why should I add anti-phosphate? I need to measure first, and then add... The same goes for coal... he added it and forgot - a month has passed and he hasn't changed it. And instead of a positive outcome, it's not working. Why keep poking at everything without understanding why?

Aaron580

there are a lot of advisors on the forum..

Mark9853

That's why our aquariums are very different; everything has been tested through experience. And so far, no one has complained to me that I've messed up somewhere. I'm not a seller of chemicals; I just have my own approach. Sorry.

Kimberly2102

No, that's not related. And there are no complaints about your aquariums. Just answer one question: if there are no phosphates, why add anti-phosphate?

Kimberly4253

The point is not in the advice, but in the logic. If I'm wrong, I will apologize and remove the silly post. But since you say that, then respond to the post above.

Brandi

It's sad - I agree. But the test is cheaper than the antifos - that's what I based my conclusion on.

Samuel6138

It's not cheaper to buy all the tests to check. The same goes for silicates; isn't it easier to just add anti-phosphate and carbon, and know for sure that everything is fine!

Melissa3820

Tests are still necessary - no matter how you look at it - it's a lot. And you need to buy them if you don't want to crash the system someday. And given that you described the water itself and the filling process. I would have already been in the store! For reference, I filled my 200 liters over several days through osmosis - and I didn't rush it. And the topic starter should be AWARE of this and, most importantly, UNDERSTAND the process of movement. At the start, OV/Savchenko helped me a lot...

Brian

Here's the thing... I have all the tests too (except for magnesium), but in the aquarium, it's always carbon and anti-phosphate. I look at the condition of the corals—if they're not doing well, then nothing except carbon and anti-phosphate can be added to the tank, and only water changes will help... BUT, if you're doing some experiments with the aquarium, then the tests can be helpful (I only use them when I'm playing around with something)... And at the start, what will it give?

Meghan

Sanya, yes, it's fine to lay coal and antifos - I'm not arguing. It's just that if I can avoid laying it, I don't lay antifos = I'M NOT STRESSED about testing phosphates. Guys, enough arguing - I think the topic starter understood everything and made conclusions.

James1625

Offtopic is better to be... than to be unkind. It won't be worse, and you can sleep peacefully if you're too lazy to take the test.

Stacy6866

I did put one flask! The water was definitely 25-40 ppm! And I connected the cartridge incorrectly, that's a fact; I flooded half of the aquarium, but the level is 25-40 ppm!

Heather

Thank you very much everyone for the posts!!! I finally figured out what I put in the aquarium and, most importantly, learned the names of these things! It's clear about the carbon and anti-phosphate; I will definitely change the carbon in a month, Max consulted me about this!

Jeremy8404

here are the photos, I added some animals

Gene1948

Today, 5 snails, 2 fish, 3 shrimp, a hedgehog, hard corals, and soft corals were added. I will try to upload a video now.

David953

settlement

Christopher1774

Where is the video? I'm not an expert, but is it correct to do the stocking if you plan to introduce a lot of live rocks soon?

Amber6362

Oh father, you rushed with the hard ones... and in general with other more complex corals (even though I haven't seen what they are like)... You should have thrown in some stones at first... like S.R.K. (dry reef stones)...

Natalie

He took it from a person who was dismantling the aquarium; it just happened that it needed to be taken, and the hard one is a gift from me.

Sarah5423

thank you so much!!!

Devon107

Tomorrow, S.R.K. (dry reef stones) 50 kg will arrive. I will load them.

Darlene4238

no one sells a plant like this white coral

Stuart

In terms of actinia

James1625

here is the plant

Stacy6866

This is euphoria. Stop with the shopping.

Kathleen

Okay, good!

Patricia1746

Since I can't buy it, I started working with S.R.K. (dry reef rocks). I made these decorations and changed a few things, removed the rock that I'm not sending a photo of. I'm waiting for criticism and suggestions from the forum members.

Sheila1322

Doesn't it seem a bit empty without the stone?

Heather9815

Yes, there is a little, but I am waiting for J.K. (live rocks) and S.R.K. (dry reef rocks). There is still a lot left, I will gradually add more.

Brandy

Please remove all these wires and sockets, this is a saltwater aquarium, and even a small amount of seawater can cause a fire or, God forbid, electrocution (if you spill or knock something off, etc.), and salt tends to settle over time on everything under the aquarium (you’re not just looking at it, you’re doing something there).

Rita

Off-topic. Well, you’ve already earned it... By the way, you are being advised very correctly here regarding the electrical parts. Immediately bring all of this in order, otherwise, it’s only a matter of time before something happens that could go wrong. Hang the lamp, move the power strip to another safe place, away from water, as it is a good electrolyte and won’t leave you any chances if something falls into the aquarium or if you splash water on the connectors, etc.

Mike

Cool photo with a shell and a hedgehog. Just don't let the hermits loose, or they'll put the shell on themselves and mess up all the decorations...

Michelle104

A hermit has already been launched!

Jade

One outlet was leaking osmosis directly onto the socket; the circuit breakers worked well, and the main package didn't trip. Of course, I'll clean it up. I ordered boxes for the bottom and the top, and once they are done, I will redo everything. For now, everything is temporary; all the lamps are temporary, and one LED is also temporary. I ordered frequency converters and lamps.

Joe

I will do it a little later.

Katie4842

Why doesn't my video show what I did wrong?

Hannah

Where? To answer, you need to see WHAT you have done.

Jacqueline5976

Seryoga, regarding the video, read this if you uploaded it from YouTube.

William5838

I uploaded a video from YouTube on my computer, just some random squares?

Kayla7655

If you bring the buckets, I'll show you how it's done on my computer.

Paul

Yes, there’s a little mistake with the buckets! Definitely!

Jeffery7866

a small photo session of what's currently in the aquarium, added a bit! if there's anything unnecessary or wrong, feel free to throw hats!

Mark

Excess is what has no stones.

Gabriel

I ordered Marchenkov, waiting.

Chad4168

Off-topic. They will remain silent about the shell for a long time.

Amber9312

SHELL REMOVED!!!!! SIMPLE STONES REMOVED!!!!!! I'm sending a photo.

Nicole2404

Send me the link to the video, I'll try to upload it.

Ricky9405

Sorry, I haven't had time to come here! I will improve! I'm sending a photo, it catastrophically lacks red colors, what should I add?

Karen81

add a group of 5-6 anti-aces

William

Aiptasia needs to be suppressed... otherwise, everything is okay...

Raven7170

Here is the link to the video, please upload it, I couldn't do it.

John

Yes, thank you. Today Max told me that this thing, and I recognized it in his face! ))))

Eric8832

Seryoga, any whim

Breanna9982

Thank you very much for the buckets in responsible storage!

David953

What kind of plague is attacking the corals and how can we fight it? It is devouring the soft corals; I brushed them off with a brush, and they are floating away, writhing...!!!!

Guy

I glanced, remembered, shuddered. Planarians! Study the topic -

Darrell5975

It's very interesting, how is your aquarium doing now?

Joseph

Thank you, everything is great (knock on wood).

Laurie3842

Will there be a photo?

Kenneth7331

and I'm curious!!!

Joshua9847

It's been 2 years already...

April3499

Is this a deadline for M.A. (marine aquarium)?

Jessica9188

Everything is fine in the aquarium, everything is growing; the person just doesn't have time to monitor the forum right now. I will visit him soon and take some photos.

Elizabeth882

Guys, there is no more of my sea! I sold everything due to the military actions in Luhansk! Everything was fine, everything was growing, the aquarium was a wonder, I even dreamed about it after I sold it! Huge thanks to Max for the help! It's a pity I couldn't give it away! Everything was destroyed!

Linda

hang in there

Joshua

I didn't do any water changes at all. I hardly used any chemicals lately and also didn't do much water changing, I used a lot of carbon. If anyone has questions, write to me on my Skype, I'll help with advice as much as I can. I understand that we are doing everything wrong; we need to take the project more seriously, it's all about that. I had a large one myself, and I increased it to about 200 liters. Yes, light is also a very important thing!

Cheyenne2747

Yes, but there are many nuances; everything is more based on intuition. Each aquarium is unique, like a living organism!

Angel2396

Sorry, but you don't necessarily need that many exclamation marks.

Elijah7048

Here is the video of what happened.

what I found, filmed almost at night on a mobile phone. some parts have already closed.

Elizabeth6302

Thank you very much!!! The aquarium is great!!! Peace to us all!!!

Kristen1161

Judging by the video, you filmed the aquarium a long time ago, when I was at your place a year ago. The aquarium looked great, overgrown with corals, and everything was fine! I was very surprised, considering that you had neglected it; it looked excellent. If I find the photos, I'll post them. Moreover, the skimmer was hardly working, the sump was a complete mess, the light had long faded, and I was surprised by the monthly water change of 3 liters of cheap carbon in the sump, yet everything was growing. Apparently, you found a balance.

Sarah5423

Max is right as always!!! Thank you SENSEI, that's correct!!! The video I found on my phone didn't save anything!

Julie3950

Photo with a mobile. Beauty, damn.

John3187

yes yes this is my seaeeeeee as soon as everything calms down, I will make a new one

Larry

I haven't cleaned it at all during this time except for the foam gun and the pump. I haven't siphoned the bottom.

Scott8536

Max, can you tell me how your new cleaning system works?
