With a successful launch..
Loretta5483
Congratulations on the launch!
It's better to keep the density at 1.025 according to the S.G. scale, even if the Chinese meter shows 1.023, that will be acceptable. 1.021 is a bit low.
You need to decide right away whether it will be a soft coral or SPS tank; a mixed tank is difficult to maintain.
It's better to use Tetra salt.
If you have SPS (small-polyped corals), you need to add some flow.
You should also add more light, as there are dark corners.
Other than that, everything is fine!

Even one T5 blue spectrum lamp will remove the yellowness and increase the intensity of the lighting.

With the launch of you!
Max, explain to me, the ignorant, why it is harder to maintain SPS with LPS and soft corals?
As I understand it:
1. Current.
2. Soft corals release toxins that, if they don't kill, hinder the life of SPS.
3. A war against each other for territory. Because soft corals grow quickly, they will suppress SPS.
4. SPS need ideal conditions. Nitrates and phosphates should be almost zero, and soft corals clearly do not like that. The same Xenia wilt from a lack of phosphates.
Where am I wrong?
Larry
You described it in detail yourself.

Max, I think coal removes toxins, and what about Ksenia and phosphates, is it true? I have zero phosphates (according to the tests), but Ksyusha is growing and pulsating like crazy))
Rebecca
I will visit you tomorrow (I called regarding the disco), and if needed, I can help with the tests. Nitrates (tetra) are clearly visible.
I would take a refractometer and not struggle; 3 hydrometers (sulfur) = 1 refractometer))) Especially since you are planning something serious in the future.
Amber1273
As practice has shown, the Aquamedic hydrometer is more than enough for keeping any corals. Recently, I've been dissolving salt just by eye... With the startup!

Experience is a good thing.

I also had Ksenia growing and pulsating. According to the tests, it was 0. As soon as I put Siagel, there was coal and antifos - Ksenias bent over.
