The time for launching my next sea is approaching. The salting is planned for the upcoming Saturday. I will then post photos of the entire process: from the modification to the launch. For now, the initial data: 1. Aquarium. Juwel Rio-300. Modified for the sea. The bottom was drilled, an overflow shaft was glued in. The overflow is Durso, with an emergency drain. The cabinet - a frame of oak beams 40x60mm, topped with 25mm MDF, the sides are lined with 18mm particleboard. 2. Lighting. From a. 2MG x 150 W + 4x54W T5. 3. Sump. Manufactured by , company PE . By the way, he also modernized the aquarium. 140 liters. Compartments: for the skimmer, algae reactor, technical. Return, technical. Return pump - external Deltec hlp 5250. 4. Deltec PF 501 calcium reactor. With a CO2 system, left over from the planted tank, and an Aqua-Medic pH controller. Aqua Medic calcium stirrer - 1000. 5. Skimmer. AlexLoga. 6. Flow pumps: Vortech MP40Wes - 2pcs. + Sicce 4500 l/h. 7. Aragonite sand and salt - Seachem products8. L.R. (live rock) - 10kg so far, D.R.R. (dry reef rock) - 5kg. In a couple of weeks I'll buy about 15kg more L.R. (live rock). 9. Various Microbe-Lift chemicals for the launch. 10. Atoll A-506 reverse osmosis unit. A special huge THANK YOU to , PE , for the work done. A very responsible, careful

Cassandra7840

How much did such a device cost? You're lucky that you don't live in a private house. You have enough money for the sea. And here, every year there are new renovations and reconfigurations. Well done, keep it up!

Leonard

But you have plenty of space in a private house and a yard where you can keep a dog in normal conditions. Not to mention the sauna for 500 euros.

James5103

Well, with the start. ??? Isn't it 12000 l/h?

Joseph9203

pardon, I correct myself.

Christopher8654

Well, finally! Congratulations! And where did you put the fish? San San is pumping not 5 tons and not 12, but 11. Will there be auto-refill?

Nicole263

Can you send a photo of the aquarium in the overflow section and the sump before filling it with water? Also, if possible, the dimensions of the sump. Thank you.

Denise

The fish was quickly filleted here on the forum. There is an auto-fill. I bought a Tunez for 3 sensors on eBay. I will post photos of the process over the weekend.

Michael3221

good luck to you

David7773

You don't need to do anything, just endure for a couple of days. It will settle in and work quietly. This happens not only with San-Sans but also with European manufacturers.

Pamela

One barrel hums, while the other rattles distinctly. The hum might fade over time. But what about the crackling? I checked the bushings, everything is in place, all tightly secured. What does it need? In 2-3 days, the noise could drive someone crazy.

Nicole7122

Change it. There's a lottery here, Arowana usually changes it without problems, they've dealt with this. I have one almost like that, it "noises" a bit louder than the Tunze Nano Stream.

Sara

Exchanging is not so simple. I bought a new one from a forum member, but a couple of months have passed since then. It seems that the return period has expired, and the seller didn't offer a return in this case. I didn't check it upon receipt. Next time I'll be smarter - I'll check it right away. I also bought a new one from a reputable manufacturer, with a warranty. Let's see how fast DHL delivers.

Guy

This is how murky we look right now: Well, here's one of the photos from the beginning of the process...

Alyssa6727

, Little muddy-s...... And here is the herbalist in the second photo, quite and very......

Maria6659

I initially thought about rinsing the sand, and even started doing it. But then I hesitated, fearing I might end up with a major pipe cleaning in the bathroom, and decided that it would settle on its own. Plus, there's also a sponge working on it.

Jessica5016

What kind of sand is that, and I think one washcloth is too little; I remember how I used to wash with three washcloths five times a day for about five days.

Denise

Aragonite dry Seachem. I will have to run around too. I forgot to mention. In the sump of the algae tank, "Deep Coral sand" coral sand is used, kindly provided for research by A. Beshlega. The sand fraction is 1-3mm.

Sheila1322

turned out to be right. San-San is fitted and works almost silently on both barrels. The unpredictable Chinese technology Sicce Voyager and Aquael were originally so silent. The VorTech-40 will arrive in about a week - I feel there will also be a struggle with it.

Sheila1322

This happens not only with the Chinese, but also frequently with more renowned European manufacturers.

Melissa

Do you feel or know?

Carrie1606

You won't wait. I will overcome.

Melanie

This is how we look today. Due to the fact that the sump is undergoing a slight modification, the overflow is currently not working. The light has not arrived yet, but it promised that I will soon receive its new model of the lamp. If everything goes according to plan, the system will be fully operational in the next couple of days and will be properly illuminated for the sea. The calcium will be managed by the system based on Deltec presented below.

Gregory9432

My advice to you is, while there are no animals, rearrange the stones in such a way that there are no stagnant areas, as there are quite a few of them right now. Also, leave at least a 5 cm passage at the bottom between the side and back glass and the stones, so that the strombus can move around freely. Good luck with the setup and happy swimming.

Crystal

There is space between the back wall and the stones. It is well-ventilated there. As for the side walls... the stones are not glued yet and are resting on the glass. I will glue them - I will move them aside. The flow is not fully organized yet - not all the pumps have arrived. Most of the equipment was purchased in Germany, and the Germans are a bit clumsy with shipping. The remaining two flow pumps will only arrive in a week. I completely reread your topic about 250 liters. I found quite a lot of useful information for myself.

Danielle8118

The sump is running. The Deltec is indeed a silent pump. You can only guess that it is working by the stream of water from the return. I will immediately answer the question about the skimmer tube lowered into the sump - it is closed off and nothing is flowing out of it.

Dennis

Off-topic. God forbid, that would be the last thing we need...

Brandy1134

Off-topic, I look at your sea and realize that you have postponed your wife's dream of a private house for a while.

Yvette209

you could use a bag on the drainpipe...

Richard2180

There will be a bag on Monday.

Tammy2040

The miracle of hostile technology. Made in AlexLog.

Joshua8425

This is how we look with the new light fixture. For now, it's just MH 2x150W, 14000K and 20000K. I haven't bought the T5 lamps yet. There are also no stands (holders) for the fixture yet, but there will be one.

Maria6659

Impressive!

Timothy

To be honest, I don't quite understand why to install two lamps of different spectra in a fixture for two metal halide bulbs. It turns out one half is under one spectrum, the other under another; is there a hidden meaning in this? Wouldn't it be easier to just use two white metal halide bulbs and diversify the spectrum with T5s?

Shawn

I understand that 20000K is blue spectrum, and 14000K is white, did I express myself correctly? What brand is the lamp at 20000K and how much does it cost?

Shane

I will explain. From another marine light fixture, there are 2 old bulbs of the specified spectra that came to me with the fixture. At the time of launching the "fresh" marine setup, I installed them. In about a month, I will replace them with new Giesemann MEGA CHROME coral 150 Watt 14500 K bulbs, which were gifted to me by German friends for the occasion of launching the marine aquarium. After that, the spectrum will be diversified with 4 T5 bulbs, although I haven't chosen the manufacturer and seller yet - I'm open to advice from experienced individuals. The spectra will include 2 actinic and 2 marine blue bulbs. The manufacturer's logo is not visible. It seems to be something Chinese.

Kenneth7331

Пожалуйста, предоставьте текст, который вы хотите перевести.

Joseph9203

Is this made to my measurements or is it an abstract picture? Your phone seems to be out of service today...

Brian

For T5 lamps. Airif recommends: KORALLEN-ZUCHT Coral Light Fiji Purple 54 W - 1 piece "ATI" Blue Plus 54 - 2 pieces "ATI" Actinic 54 - 1 piece I would like to hear opinions on this set or recommendations.

Christopher1774

I haven't tried these lamps, so I have no opinion. I like the white ones from FAUNA MARIN - Aqua Science DUO, which I got from Yura in Kharkiv. Their actinics are also good, but I prefer JBL Solar in Blue, which I bought from A.

Jennifer5371

JBL makes good lamps. I used Solar in Blue for my aquarium with trophus. But the price is twice as much compared to ATI. Can I get the login details?

Eric

Aqua Science DUO 54 Watt lamp with a strong and intense blue/white/red spectrum costs 18.9 euros. I think the Actinic is around the same price. Is this a more acceptable price? Oh, I found it. Aqua Science Blue 22,000 K 54 Watt lamp with intense actinic blue light 18.9 euros.

Adrienne

made according to the acanthus of Yuvel...

Scott8536

Prices are close to ATI. The question is interesting.

Tara2761

I prefer ATIs by spectrum more.

Joseph9203

KORALLEN-ZUCHT Coral Light Fiji Purple 54 W is probably a pink lamp, similar to the Silvania Aquastar, definitely install one. And regarding the ATI, everything is correct, two blue and one purple, if the MH will be white.

Javier5186

I bought what was recommended on Airife: one KZ and three ATI. I'll install it on the weekend and show the light in the photo.

Zachary

The lamp stood up.

Darrell5975

Everything is great, but this stack of CDs...

Daniel

Offtopic The stack of CDs simulates a sunken radio station. That's the idea.

Ricky9405

Off-topic. So where are the remains of radio operator Kat?

Amy1672

Today I was tidying up in a small sea and making a small relocation to a larger one. While pulling a piece of fossilized coral out of the sand in an old aquarium, I discovered that I had presumably bred some strombus snails. The size of each of the three little ones I saw is slightly larger than a match head. They don't crawl on the rock; they polish the substrate.

Jessica9188

I highly doubt that these are strombus, otherwise you would be the first one this happened to. I will try to identify them and post later.

Nicole

I'm quite the connoisseur of mollusks. The shell is very similar, with 2 antennas, and it moves in jerks. I haven't seen the trunk, though. I made a few adjustments to the text.

Javier5186

I also have such mollusks, good cleaners, but they are not strombus, they might be some kind of nassarius.

Kristen1161

The first beast in the new aquarium.

Rodney

Great creature. The family's favorite fish, especially when it asks for food at the front window.

Eric5208

Offtopic This zobak really loves this filamentous algae...

Christine864

My new sea has grown a decent layer of fluff on the walls; I specifically didn't clean the sides and the back - I was preparing the menu for the beast. The beast started evaluating the menu just an hour after the move. It seems satisfied.

Jacob7201

The thing is, when he finishes with her, which he does quickly, he might face a problem about what to give her next. Plant feed like thread plays a crucial role in his diet...

Jessica

Offtopic, this blenny used to nibble on the algae on the back wall, hardly touching the rocks. I cleaned the back (now it hardly grows back), and this one has completely switched to dry food (a mix of JBL Maris and spirulina), while the rocks continue to get covered in algae. By the way, it also occasionally dances in front (the aquarium is 2 meters away from me, so the blenny seems to have good eyesight) - as if to say it needs food, twice is not enough.

Wendy8540

In my old aquarium, the caulerpa of different species is growing like crazy; I throw out a full cup of green every two weeks as it almost covers the entire aquarium. I've already transplanted a few bushes of green and red into the new aquarium. Plus, I have several packs of pressed spirulina sticks. The aquarium will gradually get overgrown anyway... Overall, it's an interesting creature. It's always in the foreground. It feels like it's studying the room through the glass and reading from the computer monitor. It also makes funny faces.

Tiffany5069

I don't throw it away. I put it in the freezer for deep freezing, and then I give it to the surgeons. It doesn't stay in the fishery for long after that...

Erin2730

So I won't either. It just wasn't needed before; the clowns and the centropyge didn't eat it.

Jeanne

The aquarium is slowly developing. The Sicce Voyager 4 pump arrived - I replaced the humming Eheim with it. Now I just need to wait for 2 Vortech MP40wES (they promised to be in Kyiv before the New Year), and then I can seriously start creating the right currents. I bought an interesting rock with mushrooms and several SPS corals from forum members on Airife.

Johnny

A few fresh photos

James5103

You say "raccoon"... Let the raccoon wake up.

Nicholas2252

Not a raccoon, but a badger.

Diana3118

Oh, right, sorry.

Bridget

Finally, my 2 VorTech MP40W have arrived. I've already installed them and am experimenting with the currents and modes. Americans really know their stuff when it comes to marine equipment - the pumps are amazing!

James8887

Are they noisy?

Danielle

What about the "blue" mode? How is the noise wave?

Eric

I haven't tried it yet. It probably won't be quiet. But the wave doesn't suit me - the overflow is on the side, it will slosh.

Vanessa

Thanks to the aquarium, I received a gift for the little Christmas tree, or rather for the coral.

Patricia1746

Happy upcoming (holiday).

John5528

There is a problem! Only two will survive...

Emma

To put it mildly, incorrect information!

Javier5186

Starting today, my corals will no longer experience a calcium deficiency.

Theresa5149

Tell me about the device, what its production is, what pump it has, what it is filled with, how the launch went, is it already boiling?

Kimberly

Deltec PF-501 reactor. Deltec Aqua Crown Hy Carb Special media. The pump is complete, aquabi. I didn't install a pump for water supply from the sump - it draws water by itself. The startup was like that of all particularly knowledgeable users. The special knowledge consisted of the fact that I read the instructions only after the startup. And the first point says - rinse the media! Naturally, no one rinsed it - I ended up with quite a bit of cloudiness in the aquarium. The setup followed the instructions: 1 bubble of CO2 per second, 2-3 drops of solution per second into the sump. The pH controller is set to 6.85. It started "boiling" immediately, practically silent - you can't hear it at all from the cabinet.

James4757

Ryan7682

Is there something wrong with the bubbles here? Maybe the other way around? Or does it depend on the KR...

Richard

I reread and double-checked - it is all written that way.

Melissa2062

Wow... I'm really curious now... I also noticed the high recommended pH in the controller - 6.85. Maybe someone knowledgeable can explain what's the deal?

Alyssa6727

Regarding pH, the manufacturer recommends 6.2-6.5 in the reactor. I just noticed that other aquarists mostly maintain a cutoff at 6.85. Link to the reactor manual: It's in the PDF.

Aaron580

Wow, what a beauty, the reactor is just great... I'm thinking about the ME dispenser... and then this, in general, bravo!

Mark9853

I found a little shop in Germany that deducts 19% VAT when the purchase is made from outside the Eurozone. The price turns out to be quite good. And our customs officials easily let such packages through without bothering about our taxes. As for the reactor, there will also be a calcium mixer with calkwasser, which I will run through an auto top-off. I haven't found a container for the auto top-off yet—something compact for the bottom area that can hold at least 10 liters.

Russell8484

Can you provide the address of the store (website address)? You can send it in a private message)))

Sarah7284

Offtopic +1.

Katie4842

Пожалуйста, предоставьте текст для перевода.

Kristen1161

Clownish joy...

Anthony4281

Aktishka BOMB!

Debra

Something needs to be done about the light...

Jeffrey496

What about the light? The light seems to be correct. In the photo, the right MG lamp is turned off as it is not needed.

Joseph1346

What is that beautiful thing in photo 3 (red flowers) and photo 8 (long polyps)?

John5528

In my opinion, everything is good. I looked for something to criticize, but I didn't find anything. Keep it up!

Bridget

I agree. I just didn't consider where the anemone with the amphiprions is...

Joshua

I also didn't understand at first where the anemone is - it's in the second aquarium. !! Urgently take a photo of the aquarium with the anemone and the clownfish!!! And if possible, a photo of the sump and equipment.

Heather

The anemone with clowns in Resan (the family rebelled against its sale) is sitting. The light there has already turned off; I will take a photo tomorrow. For 3 - I don't remember, for 8 - gonipora. On the 2nd and 6th pages of the topic, there are photos of the sample. Besides the light, there are energy-saving bulbs and heteromorphs in the algae tank; nothing else has been added. When the auto top-off arrives, I will set up a calcium stirrer with kalkwasser. The biggest changes in the near future will concern Resan. Since I am not selling it, I will be upgrading it. I have already bought an MH light and a new skimmer, Bubble Magus BM NAC-QQ. I am waiting for delivery from Germany. Photo:

Diana7891

3-Acanthaster

Joseph6461

By the way, I searched on , and they write about this coral - Compatibility Acanthastrea corals are very aggressive; their nematocysts release toxins that can affect the tissues of other animals even at some distance from the coral. Therefore, in a reef aquarium, Acanthastrea need to be provided with a spacious individual area, taking into account the future growth of the coral.

Stacey4437

A separate area is provided and the distance is also set. This is not a jellyfish - the tentacles are not half a meter long. It can always be moved, it is not glued.

Lynn4242

Beautiful aquarium!

Rodney

Everything is still the same with the acanthus - it seems to be under MG, but not quite. Clarify - did you "play chess with her"? Did it take a long time to grow, or did it bloom right away in that spot? Is the current strong from below? Are you feeding it?

Jonathan6173

Acanthastrea is right under the light. I placed it in the evening, at T5. In the morning, it fully opened under the light. I've had it for about 10 days now, and it seems to be doing well. I don't feed it separately. It gets its nutrition from the powdered zooplankton that I add every two days after cleaning the front glass before turning off the lights, and every four days after turning off all the lights. The current in its spot is slight and unidirectional.

Cassandra1840

Beautiful coral, what can I say. Tell me, if it's not a secret, who did you buy it from?

Michelle13

What secret? I got it on Airife. But I don't remember the price anymore.

Melissa

Today's photos of the anemone in the Resana-400:

Rodney

Words are unnecessary...))

Wendy2244

Here they are, my darlings. Let them bloom and smell for the joy of their owner... spit, spit...

Jessica5348

Recent acquisitions. The MH lamps have already turned off, I was photographing under actinic light. The goniopora stood still like a stone for a week after acquisition, it was shy. It started to open up about three days ago.

Guy

Well, it shines pink - BOMB!

Sharon

The color in the photo is real. She looks just like that in real life.

Christine

Well, the price probably matches... in life.

Amber9312

From the initially quoted price at the company, my hair stood on end, but after a little bargaining, the price was reduced by more than half and became reasonable.

Jenny

I started upgrading my Resun DMS-400. So far, just the lighting. The stock metal halide lamp has a noticeable yellow tint. I'm addressing the replacement issue. Considering the outrageous prices (three times the difference compared to Europe) for 70W metal halide lamps from Aquamedic, I had to reach out to my German friends again. Next up is the overflow, skimmer... basically everything is on the list.

Angel2396

Recent acquisitions:

Cassandra7840

Please, I ask you and everyone to write the names of the corals. Otherwise, it's "something beautiful, or I don't know, give me two."

Randall7906

Off-topic Photo 1 is just tearing apart....

Thomas

Could you please tell me how much you paid for the lamp? And where?

Aaron580

I did. It's better to discuss the price with him. This is if you are talking about the large lamp.

Diana7891

I am talking about RESANA!

Catherine6534

, on eBay. $35 with 2 lamps included.

Melissa

Thank you)))))

Stephen5857

I received 5 very nice SPS corals today from Alchevsk. Once they settle a bit, I will post photos. Although they all look as if they were moved from one aquarium to another without leaving the apartment, as if there wasn't a 14-hour train journey. Everything was packed very professionally.

Mark7376

Life and development of the aquarium continue. A small problem has arisen - calcium levels have dropped significantly to 360. I see the cause in the delayed installation of the reactor and the kalkwasser stirrer. Also, the reactor's output was set too low. I am currently addressing the issue by adding calcium chloride from Aquarium Systems to the aquarium. I changed the lighting. Instead of the old MH BLV, I installed 2 CoralVue ReefLux 150 Watt 12000k bulbs. I like the current setup better. Here are some fresh photos:

Angela7060

LPS figures are awesome! Do you have anything else for sale?

Amy1672

Well, what can be stated? The process has begun... Success, once again, success... The main thing is not to lose calcium.

Laura3673

How do cauderns behave? Do they hide or are they in plain sight? Are they indifferent to small creatures?

Anthony4281

Always in sight, in the foreground. And there seems to be no smaller creatures than them. Except for the wrasse, but even that won't fit in the mouth.

Nicholas2252

I checked out Airif recently and ended up adding a couple of Trachyphyllias and a Clavularia to the aquarium.

Joyce

I will make a slight correction. In the first photo, it is Anthelia sp. (Anthelia Blue Short Tentacle), at least that is the name it was received under. Best regards,

Laura3673

Thank you! But the clavichord will still be available later. I ordered two types of it from your company.

Andrew7823

Fresh photos:

Adam

The variety is impressive.. When everything grows, it will be beautiful)))

Rita

After a long time in the mouth, the pteropogons released their fry to swim free tonight. More than a dozen. The tail of a dog serves as a background for the fry. The camera doesn't want to focus on the solitary fry without a background.

Nicole263

Congratulations on the addition. Yes, the aquarium is truly impressive.

Rachel9060

Thank you. There are many shelters, maybe someone will survive.

Gregory9432

The parents of the fry gathered to the house. In the photo, the dad is in the role of the house.

Erica

I'm trying to make a mat of carpet anemones in a reef. I set up a small niche with live rocks, and above it, I attached a montipora as a canopy. There is no direct light in the niche, and the anemones are not moving. Now I just need to gather more colorful variations.

Phillip9722

try to transfer to the sump, there are few chances in the aquarium

Lee

So I put in the samp those I could catch. Probably about a dozen.

Emma

Well, then I will book them.

Kenneth7210

, agreed.

Kellie

Have you been on a diet for a long time? Have you started eating? Is it constantly on?

Keith7534

As far as I know, there is no UV.

Bryan1851

Week. Eats like a hungry horse. Moreover, everything I give. UV Deltek 10W is constantly on.

Helen

Was he on wheels? Is he touching the umbrellas?

Laurie3842

From the wheels of Airif. I already took a well-fed one from them. The corals are not being touched for now. Although, I guess I could have tried taking from the wheels as well. I only took fish from the wheels: zebrasomas, clowns, helman, pseudochromis, various centropyge... - not a single one died in six months. But there were problems with the ones that were kept for a while, resulting in fatalities. However, from the last purchase, a rather expensive acropora completely perished within a day, and I did not file any complaints.

Wendy

Zankl is a cow, greedy, insatiable, and brazen. This cow really loves umbrellas.

Lisa

a beautiful aquarium. But there seem to be too many fish... Visually, it doesn't strain in the sense that the aquarium isn't large (naturally, relatively), but are the fish large or at least will they grow and become large?

Diana8604

Why do you need ultraviolet in Rife???

Frank7213

When they grow up, I'll sell them and buy smaller ones. But really, is it a lot: a helmon, 2 pterophyllums, a centropyge, a wrasse, a foxface, a dogface, 2 zebrasomas, and a zankl? 10 tails, and they are not large species. The fish just recently recovered. I'll keep the tank running for another month and then I'll turn it off.

Randy

Ultraviolet light for a couple of days once a month for prevention won't hurt.

Sydney

I didn't see any effect from it. I probably wasn't looking in the right direction. P.S. I was looking towards the ozonator, that's good. But only with a potential controller.

Breanna9982

Golden words, I fully support.

Javier5186

I read somewhere that an ozonator is a ticking time bomb for SPS. It can blow up at any moment.

Rodney

Here I raised the topic of the ozone generator. The question was more about the resin than about water sterilization.

Helen

Well, then you can read the forum members in this thread, their opinions. For example, "a": There is such a shaky line for him between benefit and harm. It grows without it, so let it grow.

Raven7170

A couple of new LPS figures:

Wendy8540

I asked! Please write the names of the corals!!! P.S. And where can I get such beautiful ones and how much do they cost? Especially in the first photo "the little red one."

Larry9400

I will write in the evening.

Alexandra

The coral in both photos is called Acanthastrea lordhowensis or Acanthastrea sp. It is caught in Aiyrif. Not a very pleasant event for me - I had to get rid of the anemone. It started to sting the LPS corals quite a bit, which are more valuable to me than the fish. I moved to a colleague's fish tank.

Tonya

I bought myself a new toy.

Michelle13

write how it works

Christopher

does not work at all. It didn't fit. The sump needs to be adjusted for immersion depth, raising the level in the sump by 3-4 cm. The manufacturer's stated minimum of 18 cm is not suitable; it needs to be 22-24 cm. I returned it.

Elizabeth882

Has the air not been blocked?

Julie

It looks charming! You can confidently give it a five.)))

Charles

You can even give a five for the movie.

James5103

Very beautiful, it would be nice to see a wide shot too)))

Veronica

general plans for the next session. The aquarium has already switched to evening lighting mode, so normal photos won't turn out.

Natasha7622

pink goniofora.........looks super, may God grant it a long life!

Steven

The selection of fish is beautiful and pleasing.

Larry

aquarium SUPPPERRR

Bonnie

The praise can probably be redirected more towards Anatoly - at one time, I really annoyed him with silly questions. His patience deserves a monument - I received professional answers to all my questions. Even now, if something goes wrong, I immediately message Anatoly. If we were to compile all our correspondence, we could create a book on starting out and the first steps in marine aquaristics. I also want to give a special thanks for the help with advice and hydrobiota to Lesha and Max Alchevsky.

Tracy

No thoughts yet about moving to a larger volume?

Cynthia

There are such thoughts. There are 2 ways to solve it: 1. Buy a bigger apartment 2. Marry off my daughter in a couple of years, send her to live with her husband, and turn her room into an aquarium. Ideally, combine both paths.

Chris

My mini-Nemo is still alive. It blooms and smells of the sea.

Anne4851

Aha, I observe that very entakmeia that once clouded my mind, and now is in comfort and health...

Joshua448

By evening, it deflated. During the day, it swells to a third of the aquarium, its tentacles like sausages. I would love it if someone fed me with tiger shrimp like that...

Beth3383

The other day, I took apart one of the shrimp tanks... I sat down and looked at the empty aquarium. In general, it's no longer empty.

Phillip9722

About the aquarium: Capacity - gross 20 liters. Light - for now, I placed the lid from Resan-400 on top, later it will be LED. Equipment - Vortech MP10ES pump, hang-on filter (not installed yet). Live rock - about 3 kg, from the latest shipment, fresh. Salt - Tropic Marin Bio Active. I faced the problem of buying good aragonite sand in Kyiv - no one has it. But the world is not without kind people. The kindest was Max Alchevsky - he included a couple of liters of sand from his working aquarium in the package. I will be setting up a mushroom + LPS aquarium, similar to this one:

Wendy2244

And what about some ricordeas and umbrellas? Just so that all the colors are toxic.

James4342

Anything is possible. I haven't decided yet. But I really want the colors to be toxic and bright. But where can I find so many different recorders? It's easy for the Americans...

Timothy

There are indeed such things in the air.

Michelle1505

They used to be there. I haven't seen them in the latest shipments.

Jennifer7578

Today I found inspiration and decided to redesign Resan a bit and plant some zoanthids in the new nano tank. My collection of zoanthids was significantly diversified today by Zhenya grs. The photo doesn't show everything he brought me today. I will immediately answer possible questions about the anemone that disappeared from Resan: it got tired of it and moved to Vyshgorod.

Brandon9634

Thank you very much for your work! Once again, Anya and I are returning to the thought of the Sea... We just can't find the courage...

Kathleen

What hard work is this? It's a pleasure!

Kenneth7331

...wanted to say something in response, but I'll say this - You are right!

Caleb6320

Off-topic. I'll say one thing - you don't know how to take photos. In real life, everything is much more interesting and beautiful. Not related to the marine theme, but you completely ruined the fresh bonsai with this photo. You need either a tripod or something to fix it... P.S. Maybe the camera needs to be held higher above the light...?

Beth3383

A good lens is necessary. But spending 900-1000 dollars on it is hard to swallow. And I really need to figure out the camera settings someday. Also, I should get my hands to work properly.

Robert5335

Minik is slowly maturing...

Katherine

Offtopic The dream of a Kyrgyz...

Amber

It looks beautiful, what is the name of the fish?

Mark9853

Synchiropus marmoratus

Danielle9144

Will there be a general jeweler?

Wendy8540

and what is needed? Please!

Dennis

In the second photo, the lariculus looks beautiful along with Alveopora sp.

Sharon

Wow-wow-wow! Beautiful! Does the pump flowing from the top center disrupt the feng shui?

Spencer7805

Do you provide stones that fit tightly against the wall?

Jose

According to feng shui, it's just right! The gap between the glass and the stones is 3-5mm.

Brian

Is it really a grandmaster, and how long has this aquarium been alive?

Amanda

since November 14, 2010. On this day, it was salted.

Stefanie9771

It's time to move to a new topic!

Cindy

Aren't you cleaning the back wall on purpose? I've already gotten tired of doing it at my place - and the zebra is nibbling at it - will it grow back nicely or not?

Kenneth7210

I never clean them at all. The back and the sides. The back was beautifully overgrown: Carolina + spot algae. But in the last week, that overgrowth in the center has disappeared somewhere.

Russell8484

Yes, I am stopping this masturbation for myself.

Jonathon8514

without a background, the depth of the aquarium is lost

Sherri1320

It looks much more natural when everything is overgrown (except for the front glass). The main thing is that it should be overgrown with calcium algae, not with filamentous algae and other hairy types.

Theresa5149

I currently have only hairy ones, but this is food for Zebrasoma and Hepatus - they like to nibble on something there, and then the yellow Zebrasoma has a brown patch.

Cassandra7840

The back wall should be well-lit, and the pump needs to be positioned so that it blows either directly at it or along the tangent. This way, the filamentous algae will come off, and the glass will start to be covered with coralline. Also, calcium levels should be maintained no lower than 430-440 for the coralline. I had everything set up like that until a couple of weeks ago when the back pump got stuck due to calcium on the rotor. I soaked the pump in vinegar, but I was too lazy to hang it back up. That's why the glass in the center has cleared up a bit. I'll return the pump to its place this weekend.

Leslie

I actually have it - I bought a cool 3D-type deflector from the Chinese for 13 bucks, and all the power from the feeding pump is hitting the back tangentially. I installed the KR, and today I added Dolomite - magnesium and calcium were already almost normal a week ago - I'll be doing tests tomorrow. - Why in vinegar??? This is a very important question for me - my pumps get overgrown very quickly - one Stomatella is partially eating it, but the other one isn't - do you soak it in vinegar for that? And for how long??? And then rinse it and put it back in the tank???

Robert5335

I don't, but my technique is like this. Vinegar dissolves calcium and algae that build up very well, so it's good for cleaning. You just take a basin with regular water, add vinegar until you can smell it, then put the pumps in that basin and let them sit for about 10-20 minutes. After that, go over them with a brush and run them for about 10 minutes. Then rinse them well and put them back in the aquarium. I try to clean all the pumps like this at least once a month – the results are immediately visible; they work better and quieter, just a little bit.

Lindsey3362

Off-topic in vinegar - if it is overgrown with calcium algae (Carolina) or worms, if it has thread and slime - a toothbrush is in your hands - I clean mine like this in osmosis.

Frank7213

Basically, I've already explained everything. I mean the process. Why vinegar? The concentration is weak (I use 9%), the equipment and seals on the wires won't be damaged by vinegar. And it's enough for calcium deposits. I use plastic one-liter containers from supermarket salads. I disassembled the pump, loaded it into the aquarium, poured in the vinegar, and covered it with a lid to avoid the smell. This is all done in the evening. In the morning, I took it out, cleaned it with an old toothbrush, rinsed it, and put it back in the aquarium. Stomatellas and similar creatures can clean the top of the pump, but they can't reach the rotors. Therefore, the only way to deal with it is acid.

Laura9093

I'm just disassembling the pump and cleaning the rotor-stator.

Carrie1606

it's also an option, but with vinegar and there's really no need to break it down...

Alyssa6727

Off-topic: I habitually prefer to do a complete cleaning of the engine - I disassembled the mechanism, washed, cleaned, and lubricated it - then reassembled and installed it - it lasts longer.

Megan

I made some small rearrangements in the aquariums. I moved the Euphylia from Rio to Resan. I added a few LPS and a couple of shrimp to the nano tank.

Kathleen

Wonderful nano-aquas, a pleasure to behold. What do the 2 needles fix?

Rebecca

Fresh frag with zoanthids. To prevent it from being blown away by the current. It will grow in a week, and I'll remove the needles.

Shawn

I finally found a suitable ATI light fixture 6x39W on eBay. I initially wanted to order it from A, but it seems that Sasha really needs the money and set an astronomical price. So, it's 170 euros with bulbs and shipping. Therefore, in August (I'll be at the sea in July), there will be a new topic about launching the 250L Delta.

Daniel9952

a good lamp for a low price. Why not hang a metal halide one?

Chad9037

The depth there is shallow, about 50 cm over the glass. After pouring, it will be no more than 45 cm. There is no point in MG.

Courtney4094

How do you attach them? With a rubber band? Or?

Mitchell7972

How much did the LEDs cost? It's very interesting to compare, especially how much more cost-effective they are in terms of electricity.

Troy8808

It varies. In the photo - without rubber bands. A little over 200 euros + 20-30 euros for delivery will need to be paid upon arrival. There is a program "Dawn-Dusk" there.

Zoe7451

I tie small colonies of umbrellas with white thread to a small stone - in a week or two they grow in well. Then you can think about where to place or glue them... And LED lights, 120-130 watts - that's a very good price! And if they shine like all 200-250 watts, then that's just magnificent. I'm really looking forward to the results and comparisons... not just by eye, but also for the corals..!

Eric5208

The price for the ice is great, of course. I'm curious how many watts they will shine.

Patricia1746

What can I say... those who seek will always find.

Reginald5073

Recently visiting a military hospital in Moscow, I appropriated an interesting item from the surgical department for fragmenting corals. Even the hardest coral stem, about 2 cm in diameter, can be cut through with no effort at all, and, most pleasantly, it does not rust from contact with seawater.

Joseph1346

Just because you bought a used lamp on sale at an auction for less than half price doesn't mean that everyone else has astronomical prices.

Ryan7682

The cosmic price is one that you can't comfortably afford. For the brain says it's not worth it. And used is no worse than new...

Elijah7048

I probably expressed myself a bit incorrectly. Let me clarify - the price you quoted was high for me at the moment and was close to the new analogs of Gizman. By the way, many have already told you - create a loyalty program for regular customers. It turns out that I have half of the equipment from your production, not the cheapest, and yet I receive the list price from you as if I were a completely new customer off the street.

Holly

REFLEX T-5 6 x 39 Watt only on eBay.

Johnny

The 300-liter aquarium is living its last day today. A global reboot is coming.

John1464

Could you elaborate?

Raven7170

As they say, THE PROCESS HAS STARTED! Godspeed!

Katherine

Off-topic Excuses, it's all just a desire to rearrange things, to do something differently.

Elijah7048

this is also present

Deborah2682

It turned out approximately as follows. The aquarium is 3 days old. The live rocks used are old. The sand is new - Caribbean Sea from an existing aquarium. The salt is Tropic Marin Pro Reef. The equipment has not changed. The T5 lamps in the light fixture have been replaced: from ATI to Fauna Marin. The pumps are now positioned so that there are no dead zones. The live rocks are placed on grids, with no sand underneath them. Some SPS and LPS corals are still in other aquariums. I will transplant them back over the weekend. There are some losses among the corals. Prodibio Start Up was used during the setup. The fish are currently resting in a holding tank and seem to be doing fine.

Tracey

You need to play around with the white balance; the blue spectrum is overwhelming.

Catherine

I have already tried, I can't figure it out.

Catherine

At home, I sometimes just set it to cloudy, and it works. Otherwise, I shoot in RAW and then make slight adjustments.

Mitchell3177

With your permission, I think this is how the aqua looks...

Cindy

Yes, it seems there is just a little less red. The photo was taken under T5 light; I haven't turned on the MH at all yet. Tomorrow I'll try to play around with the camera settings a bit more.

Zachary

Well, I added the red for effect...

Matthew

However, the devil

Christina9947

Did you leave part of the medication for later? Or are you being cautious? Your J.K. (living stones) are clean, the J.P. is from the right system, the startup - ammonia is unlikely to come out.

Brent7831

Take a closer photo of the sand; I want to see the grain size.

Jeremy

The light has already gone out - so I can offer a photo of dry sand (washed and roasted), there is a little extra (spare) left.

Joseph2576

I have stocked up. The chemistry has been personally tested, and the shelf life is unlimited. The nitrogen cycle should essentially restart, I'll give it a week for that. Then I'll reintroduce the fish. And again, I'll hit the nitrogen compounds with bacteria so they don't get complacent.

Kimberly3727

Fraction of sand class. I also prefer when the sand is around 1mm.

Kristin

I like it too. The strombus snails mostly crawled on the old sand, while they burrowed into the new one, with only their periscopes sticking out and their trunks occasionally poking out. By the way, this sand looks snow-white under the blue light.

Kevin

this is for now

Tanya

Odessa, don't exaggerate, let me enjoy.

Kevin3114

Chlorine to the rescue Even J.K. (living stones) will be snow-white

Danielle

Off-topic This is something about Spielberg or Hitchcock...

David2398

I haven't been advised to add formalin to the water to prevent cyanosis.

Sherri1320

Off-topic Formalin, a thing that is necessary! We have one great specialist who "cured" them with it... although the skin of all the fish peeled off, at least there were no dead ones... they had none... and they wanted to transport the aquarium to the dump afterward... for about 2 years, nothing could be planted in it, but eventually, they managed to keep "bags" in it... they lived for a while, at least... formalin is a good thing, especially when there's a lot of it... "there should always be a lot of good"... (From a speech by an unfulfilled sailor from Zaporizhia)

Laura9093

The dosage of formalin needs to be chosen correctly, then the skins won't peel off. Look, Ilyich has been stored for 88 years and nothing - still in his skin for now.

Nicole

Off-topic. There was a knock at the door... and a black car is parked outside... maybe I should prepare a delivery basket just in case...

Katie3017

Guys, I see you're bored, there's nothing to talk about.

Melissa

A conversation on abstract topics distracts thoughts from the need to dive into the hole in the ice on Epiphany. On the subject - this morning I released the first kamikaze into the updated aquarium - the fox Lo. If it survives the day, the other animals will move in tomorrow.

Derek7322

Off-topic With your permission, I apologize for the off-topic message, here is a photo regarding the swim on Epiphany in honor of the holiday.

Amanda5586

Tigers are not afraid of water.

Timothy

Off-topic: Apparently, people just didn't make it to the beach in the summer and decided to swim in January.

Amy5468

And "Pindosia," is that the one near Paraguay? (specifically, tell me where you got the lamps).

Andrea9320

This is the USA. I ordered through a friend whose other friend lives in the USA. A link was provided for information on Amazon, but I don't know where he bought it afterward. The list of orders was quite large. Some of it will be sent to Alchevsk today.

Scott8536

An interesting route Pindosia-Kyiv-Alchevsk

Michelle9986

The aquarium is maturing. The nasty brown algae are gone. The stones and walls of the aquarium are almost clean. So it can now be shown to people little by little. There are fish in the aquarium, all of them are still there as before. They don't want to be photographed.

Michael5242

I read somewhere on a forum that Florida ricordeas do not reproduce on their own in aquariums, and that they need to be cut. My plant has decided to split. There is still a small connection between the ricordeas, but it gets thinner every day. The mother ricordea seems to want to give birth to another baby, as a second mouth has appeared.

Jeremy

Just Florida is not cut, it divides itself.

Amber6362

Maybe I got it wrong. I had yumas - I deliberately got rid of them, as they multiplied like weeds. Florida, on the other hand, split for the first time.

Russell8484

What do you feed the trachyphilia?

Robert800

Granules for LPS from Fauna Marin. Once a week or every two weeks.

Ricardo7341

Share the secret, how did you get rid of them?

Jonathan6173

With a stiff brush. I restarted. I removed all the stones and cleaned off the algae. At the same time, I also cleaned off the ricordeas.

Cheryl

I thought you were treating them right in the running aquarium. I have the same problem, only with discus... I really don't know what to do...

Jason9385

You have things well organized if you are already deliberately exterminating Yumas and have cleaned the Ricordeas with a brush. But the disco somas won't let me rest; how can I get rid of them?

Brent8919

Off-topic They are really pushing it... imagine a person with a brush, destroying red, blue, green disco balls or beautiful ricordeis... just standing there, oh my goodness... a script for a horror movie...

David4089

They (discosomas) reproduce like weeds and suppress SPS and LPS! In my 200 liters, there are probably over a hundred discosomas already.

James5032

Well, then it's a personal matter... Although, if they are so prolific and oppressive, why not chip off fragments and implement them (though it's a cumbersome operation), rather than using a brush? It won't add comfort to the same LPS or SPS, will it? In general, this is not a common case; it's the first time I'm hearing about it.

James

I would like to see this execution....

John3187

I'm also trying to imagine, they are beautiful, and maybe they could be carefully separated... and in Samp, for good luck...

Holly

or just give it away to beginners. only money for delivery. not in spite of the author.

Dawn6148

The answer is very simple - it's laziness to deal with it. In the sense of separation and implementation.

Kyle

Can Yuma be separated from the stone? It's almost impossible for Diskosoma... Sorry for cluttering your thread!

Diana7891

Offtopic. Well, I do that too. I'm trying to fight it, of course...

Guy

You are a monster.

Patricia1746

The discs can be cut with a blade. In fact, all of them. And this should be done every six months.

David2398

Ah... I would like to look into the eyes of blasphemy...

Caitlin3279

Offtopic I also periodically clear space from disks, SPS are burning out. The only way is with a kalkwasser or a brush. Max, come over, everything you collect is yours, but don't break the other corals.

Anne

Off-topic I'm leaving

Thomas

And what about the laser for the iptaziy? P.S. Just make sure you don't mix up the brush later.

Heather

Laser, lightsaber... It's all not that. Those who have served in the army know that a toothbrush is the main weapon in modern warfare.

Nicole2404

The update in the form of a carpet anemone. However, I had to fight hard for its life with iodine baths (not with me, but with the chemical reagent) and worry a lot.

Patrick4439

She is simply magnificent... Doesn't she crawl around the aquarium?

Nicholas2252

It sits in place. It has attached itself to the glass bottom, digging into the sand. Since this anemone is deep-sea and not demanding of light, the burning time of the metal halide lamps had to be limited to 3 hours. However, since I have almost no SPS corals, the inhabitants hardly reacted to this at all.

Vincent

What are iodine baths for?

Randy

After them, the adaptation of the anemones after stress occurs much faster. Anemones generally love iodine and respond well to its addition to water. Importers use iodine baths to revive half-dead anemones after delivery and virtually eliminate their mortality.

Lynn4242

Please describe the bathing process. How many times, over what period (the leg had not yet healed at that time, as I understand) the concentration of iodine. I think this is of interest to everyone.

Debra

How is the anemone doing now? Is it not sick? In general, carpets often tend to pass away in the first month. I'm also expecting some of those in the coming days. I'm very worried about how they will get to Russia.

Jennifer7159

It only hurt for the first 7-10 days. Now it looks like in the catalogs.

Mary

Several photos of the work process. Acrylic rods were inserted not only in the middle of the stones but also bent under heat in the back parts of the compositions, creating a kind of frames/back supports for rigidity.

Ricky9405

Where did you buy the acrylic rods? The structures turned out well =)

Christopher1252

I will warn you in advance about one of the questions - the excess stones have already been disposed of.

Tiffany5069

Stones in a dry interior. It will last long in this form - I won't start for known reasons for now, there are other spending priorities.

Heather2018

I have had different priorities for the third year now, though for a different reason.

Lee425

, throw at least one J.K. (living stones).....I also started up...

Nancy758

What's the point? I have "starter" bacteria. Plus, I'll add 9 kg of "live" sand at the start.

Collin

And the little bugs, cockroaches from the J.K. (living stones)? Let them crawl and jump around there.

Gene1948

They will crawl off the corals. And I will pour a couple of glasses of sand inhabited by little worms from the active mini tank into the sand.

Kristin

Sourdough is basically just food for bacteria... in the biofilter (live rocks) there is a much larger strain + all sorts of bugs, cockroaches, sponges, etc.

Kristen2246

It depends on what kind of live rocks you have. It feels a bit wasteful to put premium ones in the sump (there's no space for extra rocks in the main aquarium), and I wouldn't want to spend money on the regular boulders that are offered under the name "live rocks." Bugs and little cockroaches will appear along with the corals. The uniqueness of the bacterial strains from live rocks is greatly exaggerated. The most complete strains of bacteria can be bought cheaply in the form of products for biological cleaning of septic tanks (no laughing, it's true!), and they will work perfectly in the aquarium.

Jeremy8404

I placed a couple of small live rocks with sponges and everything else for a short time, then I removed them completely... They were no bigger than a fist... It's unlikely that there will be any bugs with the corals... Ideally, corals should be rinsed before planting either in osmosis or in Lugol's solution, and all the bugs will go away... As for the means, I don't know; personally, I wouldn't risk it at all. Better to use live rocks; it's somehow more interesting.

Mario

You need to wash this if you brought foreign corals, but if you're transferring from your own aquariums, then why?

Christopher

What is planned? SPS?

Wesley

I don't know yet, I haven't even started salting (there's no good salt anywhere). Most likely LPS + SPS in that order of priority. With a minimum of fish.

Angela

What is a normal one, if it's not a secret?

Courtney4094

Tropic Marin for the reef, for example. There are better options, but you have to order it from the USA, and that's not necessary at the start.

Joseph8842

Yes, I also searched all the stores for salt and finally found 4 kg of Reef Crystals.

Amy9618

Is this a new approach in the fight against lower forms of life or a scientific experiment? I have read many topics about starting a tank and how to do it with dry rock (S.R.K.) or live rock (J.K.), and I came across a setup that was completely made with dry rock (S.R.K.) and roasted sand, BUT which had previously been live rock and live sand, and for some reason, no one asked the topic starter: "Why was the aforementioned sacrilege against 'live' done?"
