Good day! We would like to introduce you to the aquarium created by the company iReef. Brief description of the system: Display aquarium 150*65*80. Volume 780 liters. Made of19 mm (diamond) glass without cross-bars and stiffeners. Sump 170*60*60. Working volume 400 liters. Installed in the basement. Aquarium lighting: ATI Powermodule with 10 T-5 lamps of 80 watts each. Sump lighting: ATI Powermodule with 4 T-5 lamps of 24 watts each. Skimmer: ATI Bubble Master 250. Supply pump: Deltec HLP 8070. Flow pumps: 2 VorTech MP40w Proler Pumps. Tunze auto-top-up. The system contains 100 kg of live rock, 80 in the display aquarium and 20 in the sump. CaribSea sand 60 kg. Tropic in BIO-ACTIF salt. The aquarium was started using a 14-day startup from Korallen-Zucht. We will upload high-quality photos soon. The aquarium is in the process

It will be interesting to read...

This is the accelerated launch methodology from KZ. It is described, for example, here.

Cindy

to what extent such a method allows to speed up... ??? When was the aquarium filled??

Christine

Actually, quick cycling is not a new concept. It all depends on the quality of the live rock. If Denis placed a well-aged rock from his aquarium for the client, then there you have a quick cycle. For example, when I set up my tank, on the day I added the live rock, I introduced brittle stars and mollusks, strombus snails. They all survived... All the additions of tanks and other stuff... well, I think they give about a 2% increase in success during cycling. This is tuning, not the foundation. Denis, I think you’ve stirred up some intrigue. The aquarium must have been set up a long time ago and is already filled with corals, right? Share a photo of how things are going now! We want to see the new SPS reef!!!

Jeremy8404

In fact, a quick launch is no longer a novelty, but it is important to achieve good results with minimal monthly maintenance costs, and that is not easy.

Troy8808

It's interesting, of course. I have live Black Sea sand and live rocks, and without any additives, it became crystal clear in the aquarium in two days. Meanwhile, with CaribSea sand without additives, I was cleaning up the mess for three weeks, and the water was cloudy. Then I spent a month dealing with hair algae, and thank God the strombus only crawled around the edges.

Natalie

I have a bad habit of asking questions to which I already know the answer. dates of the photos - 2010.04.10 2010.04.10 2010.05.21 2010.06.24 2010.06.29 2010.06.30 2010.07.22 2010.07.22 total - the aquarium has been filled for at least three months.

Courtney

Filled but not launched! I might be mistaken about the dates since the project was taken on in the fall and the house where the aquarium is installed was undergoing renovations... I think this discrepancy doesn't change anything; there is an aquarium, there is its description, and the process of launching.

Catherine

I also set up my aquarium based on the recommendations of the guys, using KZ chemicals and a quick start system. On June 3rd, I started adding the chemicals, and on July 3rd, exactly a month later, more than 20 SPS were brought in. Is this not an indicator for you?

William

Here is the question I would like to know the answer to - is the stone overexposed (and for how long and under what conditions) or not? If the stone is fresh, it could even start up in a month with chemicals... in general, then it would be a miracle.

Curtis

In the 14-day launch, zeolites were also supposed to be present, but unfortunately, we were unable to agree with the owner to mix them.

Jason5071

The stone is not overcooked...

Julia

As always, it's ambiguous, but ........ I would gladly take a look at your "quick launch." One can judge if there is experience in this matter. Otherwise, it seems somewhat inappropriate. The aquarium is made correctly, the light and current are sufficient. I would like to see the sump.

Devon107

I would also like to take a look at the sample. Denis, and if possible, please provide a list of the installed bulbs in the fixture.

David7773

Photo of the sample...

Nancy758

The launch went within normal limits, I don't see any special accelerations unless the dates are manipulated..... Look at least here and I can show you a dozen more launches like this. A good stone, part of old water, a human configuration of equipment, and the result will be the same.

Colin1418

the dates are not twisted... of course you won't see the difference in your photos of your aquarium, the filament algae was present until August. How can you see the difference? Regarding the equipment, you are right, the client immediately refused the homemade one!!! because there is no quality on the market and he knows this very well...

Michelle5859

I understand that another aquarium is planned in Samp?

Robin

yeah

Andrew9581

You are right about the equipment; the client immediately refused the homemade option because there is no quality product on the market, and he is well aware of that... How does he know? Who told him?

Stephen5841

I agree with Denis and oh. Homemade equipment is not always good. I personally also do not use homemade equipment - I don't trust it! I use branded items - "Alexloga." Sorry for the spam in the thread.

Devon107

Off-topic Another interesting topic is turning into trivial disputes... It's a shame... I am surprised by Denis's desire to share something new on this forum.

Todd

fierce competition! the chicken coop law - climb higher, peck the one above, and crap on the one below!

Brooke

This equipment was considered! In operation, the result was disappointing and unsatisfactory... and the price!!! Homemade products cannot be expensive! And it's not a brand! The statement of one, two, or ten people does not give the right to call it a brand. Please do not start another discussion...

Wesley

1 Fiji "KZ" 4 Blue Plus "ATI" 3 Aqua Blue Special "ATI" 2 Actinica "ATI"

Javier5186

The topic is just over a day old, and look at how many "well-wishers" have commented. I think that if a client has enough money at today's prices to finish the repairs in their house, they will certainly have enough for real brand names as well. And such people—wallets—can never be convinced that our domestic Alexloga is better than their RE or Deltak. And that a Grundfos pump can be installed and it will cost three times less... Such people are interested in real quality, name, and price is the last thing on their minds. You guys are doing great! Wishing you all success and prosperity in your endeavors!

John828

The thread appeared when he was six months old, and this is not related to maturation; the aquarium had to be used as a temporary holding for corals for some time - and that's the result. You are "confusing" two weeks with one month, and "forgetting" that the aquarium has been up for not one month but three, and that moment is fundamentally important. As I understood, you had planned to post a photo of the "one-and-a-half-month-old" aquarium full of corals, well, sorry for interrupting.

James8887

If it's not a secret, how much does the maintenance of this aquarium cost?

Brent7831

The price is not higher than the market price.

Natasha7622

How do ATI floaters perform in work?

Scott8536

after this response, ATI posted a different figure on their website - 2700 l/h......

Lynn4242

I think this is related to the fact that the foam generator was in the testing phase and the parameters were changed. 2700 l/h is an excellent figure, although 3000 sounded cooler. But despite the changes, this version continues to impress with its parameters. We are eagerly awaiting this flotator and can't wait to see it in action...

Jacob4800

They only recently started testing it; it's unlikely that these were the final changes.

Shawn

It is better to continue the further discussion regarding this issue here. Let's not clutter the topic...
