Wouldn't it have been easier to drill holes in the bottom and not make such an overflow structure? Such constructions often lead to flooding...

James5032

Good luck with your endeavors! P.S. For some reason, none of the links are opening.

Angela7060

Yes, it's better to drill it and sleep peacefully, otherwise the neighbors might wake you up.

Christina9947

delete this I made a mistake

Joshua448

Hi, Sanya! My assumptions about the "little trampoline" came true. Congratulations! The guys are absolutely right about the overflow. That's what makes those "samps" different from other attachments. But I guess the train has left the station; I don't know what to say about how to make a hole now. In my opinion, it's still feasible.

Brian6895

The overflow on my mini works fine. I calculated the filling ratio of the sump; in case the overflow gets clogged, the return pump will drain the return compartment, and that's it, while the water level in the aquarium will only rise by 1 cm, and there are 5 cm to the edge. How can it overflow? Moreover, I have two pipes in this overflow. What worries me more is whether this pump is too powerful for 250 liters.

Joseph8592

Not much. The figures they mention about it, divide by 3 without hesitation.

Melanie

Sanyok, well done, keep it up. Do you remember our conversation when you only had the 40L cube filled? I said that in 2-3 months you would get a bigger one. Everything came true, just like that. Well, if anything, call me and we can talk. Best regards.

Amber1273

I also don't understand how to flood it? Doesn't it have an emergency drain there?

Bryan1851

order an axle with a screw from a - it will lift 20 tons

Alan273

I don't need that much, I'm worried it won't be too much. Yes, there is an emergency drain there.

Natasha7622

there won't be much))

Amber

Hello! Congratulations on your big start! Your hands are in the right place, so everything will work out, good luck!

Michelle13

Thank you very much!

Leslie

With the start! Keep us updated on the progress - creating any new aquarium is an enlightening process.

Denise

I will try.

Rachel9060

Well, here we go... instead of just Mom, Mom...! With the start of the setup... everything is at a decent level... as an example for newcomers... P.S. And where did the Dry Rock (S.R.K. (dry reef rocks)) come from? Added after 5 minutes By the way, about the salt... I started a 500-liter aquarium with 50 kg of S.R.K. (dry reef rocks) and 5 kg of L.R. (live rocks)... now it's been two months... the S.R.K. (dry reef rocks) in the upper layer are almost all red in coralline. In the aquarium, there are fish, shrimp, and not many hard corals... This is about the salt... I will try to write about this aquarium on Monday...

Larry9400

S.R.C. (dry reef rocks) was taken from the AQUARIUM CENTER.

Tracey

Excuse me, but what is S.R.K. (dry reef stones)? Google says "Irritable Bowel Syndrome (S.R.K. (dry reef stones))" Sanyok, what kind of pen will you put? And when following the links in the first post, it gives an error.

Melinda

dry reef stone

Jennifer7578

Don't forget about the auto-fill. If the second pipe is an emergency drain, then yes. It's just right.

Stacy6866

I think the self-filling will be reliable and without problems, Sanya will install it. Sanya will handle the launch. If you have any questions, call.

Sarah5423

It means that in the event of a water level drop in the return compartment, the auto-refill will top it up, and...

Michelle1505

There shouldn't be a lot of water in the auto-fill tank. Otherwise, there will be a flood.

Jose

Official start 11.12.09 30 kg of rock is placed in the aquarium. 10 L.R. (live rocks) and 20 D.R. (dry reef rocks).

Bridget

Now let's go! Wash the MF more often; the lighter fractions will filter out faster. If you throw in some macrophytes from the active system right now, it will be just right.

Jose

What are macrophytes???

Jesse3979

Sanya, read here The term "macrophytes" means "large plants," that is, visible to the naked eye. They include marine plants ranging in size from a few millimeters to several meters. Sincerely.

Andrew419

Oh damn, old head, it slipped my mind.

Allison

Well, the water is crystal clear, I'm waiting for it to mature.

Kellie

Good job, Sanya, you made sure, more is better, and when you settle down, it will be beautiful, and by summer or autumn, the thought will come to you that it's time to set more.

Rachel

Sanya, well done! It's a pity that the sea beauty takes a long time to mature...

Jessica

Congratulations on the launch! I looked at the photo, paint the metallic parts inside the samp carefully while there's still time.

Catherine6534

Thank you for the advice. As for painting, yes, but I overlooked that detail, now I will have to wait until spring, otherwise the apartment will smell so bad that it will be a disaster. Here is my first question about this sea. A feather-like Caulerpa has started to grow from the live rocks, but I don't like it. Can the diadem eat it? If so, then I will run to get a sea urchin. I'm also curious if the diadem will eat the zoanthids?

James

I don't know about others, but during the renovation in my apartment, the smell of paint stressed me out, and some people went to the "heavenly sea aquarium." All protective methods don't have much effect. For a marine aquarium, the smell of paint is a sure way to nowhere, even in small doses. If someone painted and got away with it—lucky them, I envy them with white envy. Maybe there are other methods to isolate metal parts?

John828

I was painting on the balcony in the summer, it was quite a stench - it passed. You can smear it with solidol or Vaseline and then wrap or cover it with something to keep it clean. You can coat it with silicone, but it will also smell, though I think no one’s pets have died from the smell of vinegar yet.

Amy9618

What if we paint with some quick-drying spray paint, for example? They dry quickly, I think the smell can be tolerated for about 10 minutes.

Craig7302

The can is out, drying is one thing and airing out is another.

Curtis9143

What if we coat it with melted wax?

Janet5447

Why not miss? Safety, in terms of air quality, is guaranteed. You just need to get the hang of it; it will set quite quickly.

Gregory

I still tend to cover everything with sealant if painting is not an option. Wax is not the same; sooner or later, it will need to be wiped off and it will wear off, while sealant is airtight.

Michael826

Has the primer already been canceled?

Chelsea567

And if we cover the frame with epoxy resin?

Adam4310

The smell of epoxy resin will kill not only the reef but also cockroaches 10 meters away from the reef. Be careful about what this is about.

Amy1672

The sealant is peeling off the metal and is applied very unevenly, leading to faster corrosion underneath.

Kimberly4253

Then let it rust, since we missed the time for painting, or it might get damaged or not.

Dana6523

The frame is painted, but it has started to rust at the bottom.

Collin

And what if we clean everything thoroughly and then insulate it with self-adhesive tape?

Wendy2244

In spring and summer, turn off the foam generator, paint it, and forget about it.

Jessica8898

When I make metal frames for marine aquasystems, I always prime them and then apply 2-3 layers of yacht varnish.

Angela7060

Sanyok, respond. I hope the rack hasn't bent and lost its strength, but God be with it, it stands and will continue to stand, it won't go anywhere. How is the little one doing? Is it growing, not getting sick? Spit, spit...

Tracy4603

Recently, I made myself a pen, don't throw slippers at me, I'm not an expert in such matters, but I'm satisfied with the result; it produced about 200 grams of stinky tea overnight. I bent all the pipes from sheet acrylic and glued them with acrylic glue. The impeller was balanced on a balancing machine after the modification. So, here is my creation.

Anna9752

I looked and took off my hat. Well done, Sanya!

Gabriel

credit...

Brandon9634

Well done. Did you have enough acrylic? Why didn't the enkomat want to be installed? And how did you insert the rubber band into the cup?

Heather6148

There wasn't enough for the lid; if that piece that was cut out of the sheet had been in place, it would have been just enough. For the rubber band and for securely fitting the lid, I glued in a sleeve. I haven't installed the encoderm yet; I decided to complicate things and install a needle wheel instead.

Nicole2404

Good job, another specialist in manufacturing has been born. There will be results.

Caleb6320

Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration; there are already masters of the brewing craft, and I'm just doing it for myself.

Anthony

How is your reef doing???

Larry

Thank you, everything is fine!

Amanda5586

I already have a cut circle of 200 mm made of acrylic... I can give it away...

Joseph6461

Thank you very much, I think I had a piece of it in my garage, that should be enough.

David3217

This is what the aquarium looks like today; for now, it resembles a vegetable garden more.

Adrienne

Everything looks cool, but where are the clowns? Are you growing mushrooms for me there?

Barbara8192

The beginning is smart. Success is guaranteed. It's already visible.

Marie5348

Sanyok, I don't like the round shapes where the frags are. Everything looks natural, but the round things ruin it. It's clear that this is a matter of time and then they won't be visible...!!! But overall, everything is great!!! The stones are placed perfectly! I would arrange them the same way!

Chelsea567

Max will overgrow everything, and everything will be in a nice round shape.

Russell8484

Only zoanthids are grown on the discs, which will cover the rocks and everything will be fine. I resort to this method because I like neat and compact colonies, plus they will be placed on the sand. At that moment, the clownfish were swimming around the rocks.

Mitchell7972

I haven't posted new photos in a while. Here are a few photos of the new residents and an overall shot.

Gary6376

Hi, awesome aquas. Have you completely switched from freshwater to the sea?

Larry9400

Not quite yet, but I think I will switch soon.

Jeffery

In a short period - what a hustle, well done, Sanya...

Elizabeth

Oh friends, my aquarium has partially died. It's heartbreaking.

Christopher1774

Sanyok, don't worry, we all lose something in our work sometimes, no one is immune to setbacks... I'm sure that negative experiences also teach us a lot; they are a test of loyalty to marine aquaristics. Tell me what happened, maybe we can help fix something...

Catherine6534

It was very interesting to observe the development, not inserting anything on purpose, because I know nothing about the sea, and here it is - partially dead!... How, why, what did I do wrong?...

Joyce

Was the material damage compensated? If the trouble occurred due to a poorly made controller, shouldn't someone be held responsible? Or did the "studio" refuse? It's not particularly surprising to see a disclaimer. But still, it's interesting...

Jason9952

It's a pity, the sea was beautiful.

Jeremy3637

Yeah, after everything that happened, it's hard to believe in these electronic controllers... And it costs 350 bucks!!! Accept my condolences, but like everyone else, I believe you won't give up and will "start over" and everything will be just fine))) And one last question (just curious), what is vodka used for in the "sea"? ... Oh, I just googled it - for feeding anaerobic bacteria ... -? .. Yes, how does a person weighing 90 kg process 1000 ml of vodka, while a 250-liter aquarium couldn't handle some 200 grams?)))))) No wonder we stand at the top of the food chain!)))

Raven7170

I sincerely sympathize with you. The trouble is that nowadays, aquarists often have to buy something of poor quality. Every time I am convinced that sellers push whatever they can... and we suffer... or rather, our aquariums do. Don't despair, try again... maybe in time... every experience is valuable, even if it's not successful.

Mark9853

I think in such cases that either it's not possible to prove (they'll say whatever they want - water got in, improper use, etc.) at least it's good that they changed it...

Marie5348

Don't be sad, you did so well, it's a pity about the effort and money spent on the fish, but what can you do... it's all in God's hands... many have gone through this, but we learn from our mistakes. By the way, while reading your thread, I started thinking not about the cichlid tank, but about a marine aquarium... oh wow))

James4342

The stones have already been washed and laid out in relief, the new water is ready, now it remains to rinse the sump, which is currently turned off, and fill it with water. Such a controller has been with Stas for a year without any problems, but my computer had a software error, so it was replaced with a new one. So that's the situation at the moment.

Danielle9144

The aquarium looks like this.

Heather2018

How beautifully you arranged the stones, but there aren't quite enough of them. However, the aquarium turned out light and airy. Yes, you certainly have good taste. Well done. It's a pity that some of the creatures perished, but after the redesign, it looks absolutely amazing.

Jeanne

Yeah... I read it, not very pleasant. I had something similar, I mean losses, 2 years ago when I was starting up for the first time. I actually oversalted, but I was hoping for a red sea hydrometer too))) Well, nothing - your new one will be better. Sanek, I didn't understand why it was such a hassle to add vodka. Okay, pouring 200 ml of balling, for example. But when you need about 2 cubes of vodka for your aquarium, are you hanging it on a doser?! P.S. By the way, I have serious doubts that the hydrogen sulfide zone formed in 2 days. I suspect it was there before.

Barbara8192

There were no hydrogen sulfide zones before, the sand was white all the way down and teeming with life, but two days after the overdose, all the worms and other creatures crawled out of the sand. I don't always manage to pour vodka.

Debbie3587

I don't always drink either.

Lynn4242

What is she needed for? If only he hadn't poured so much, everything would have been fine.

William5838

And if it weren't for that, it wouldn't be this. Nitrates have risen, and so it rained.

Chad9037

Nitrates are treated, I understand you want everything at once quickly, but in the sea, it's better to do everything gradually, or to have such good equipment that cleans and removes everything from the water instantly.

Todd

Yeah, it's easy to talk.

Stefanie9771

Where is this, or who is this lucky person who has such equipment that "knocks everything out in an instant"? Let them come forward; it would be interesting for us, the uninformed, to see and evaluate...

Colin1418

The condemnation of aquarium electronics was transferred to

John

Photo for the story) the quality is really lacking)))

Diana3118

Beautiful! Off-topic: What is the fly agaric doing in the lower left corner?)))

Johnny

It's growing)))

Joshua3019

After the freshwater, it seems like all of this isn't real - it's plastic, so many shapes and colors))) But it's alive!)) No more curiosities, everything is going according to plan?))))

Kendra2262

Yes, knock on wood, everything is fine)))

William1830

Sanyok, how's your rhyme these days? What's new?

Heather6148

Sanyok, respect!!!! The beds are planted very beautifully, promising!

Nicholas5194

Thank you, Stas, it's nice to hear that from you.

James5103

It turned out really great! We'll keep track of the topic now. By the way, the colors are super well chosen - especially the bottom. And when the SPS corals settle, we can evaluate it again. How did you achieve the balance of the rocks? They don't seem to touch the walls, right? Is everything from S.R.K. (dry reef rocks) or a mix? P.S. It looks excellent - maybe it's time to remove the hockey and attach it permanently?

Monica

Say hi to Sanya for me, respect, and 1000 best wishes for the prosperity of his Offtopic such a riff!

Kendra2262

It turned out very well... When the corals grow, it will be great...

William5838

Well, I prepared for six months, but I did it all in just three days!

Joseph1346

Thank you all for evaluating my aquarium, it's very nice to hear. Let's hope everything goes smoothly. Since a certain amount of rock was removed from the system, and the rocks used to create the hills were drilled and left exposed to air, they dried out even though they were moistened, which disrupted the balance and initiated a sort of restart, something I certainly didn't want, but alas. The sand started to turn brown and the glass began to get overgrown.

Justin

It turned out great! The solution with the moon is excellent, we should take it on board.

Sharon

Respect and admiration to Sanya for caring about our smaller brothers, and it's a pity about the goby; sometimes they jump out. Maybe think about some kind of protective screen, or else we could lose another one. There have already been reports of their deadly jumping ability, but it's okay; I think getting another goby won't be a problem. Keep us updated on further events regarding the aquarium and the cat.

Eric

Beauty!!! You have a talent for creating beauty both in freshwater and in the sea. Special thanks for caring for our lesser brothers; we need more people like you!!!

Natalie

Kanek, the aquarium is awesome! What are those snails on the back wall?

Ricky9405

Off-topic: It's a very "good sign" when a cat comes to the house by itself - it usually means profit.

Jason9385

I received a blue stomatella with frags from Sasha - they have already multiplied.

Christina9947

Thank you all for the kind words and wishes. The snails are called nerites; they are nocturnal herbivores and are hardly visible during the day, which is very good because the aquarium doesn't resemble a freshwater tank with snails. However, at night, dozens of cleaners come out to feed, and they do a great job of cleaning the glass and stones from algae. The kitten is very friendly and well-behaved, uses the litter box, sleeps in a box, and when we bathed him, he sat still without struggling or meowing. I've never seen such a calm bath before. Now we are going to the vet for a check-up, and in the evening, I will take photos. We haven't thought of a name yet.

Ricky9405

Can you tell me where I can get some of those???

Catherine6534

Yes, this is the second time it has popped out for me; the first time I noticed it in time and fixed it, but unfortunately, I missed it this time. The screen is certainly an option, but I don't want to deal with that.

Chad231

So the blue color misled me, or are there also stomatelles there?

Stephen5857

There are no dental crowns on the glasses; they come out after I turn off the light.

George5104

I don't even know who has them, I think it's Irih.

Cindy

Yesterday, the kitten had eye surgery, and now everything is fine.

Emma

Gorgeous cat.

Holly

I decided to take some photos of the aquarium. Everything is going well, the corals are growing, and the fish are doing fine too. The cat is also feeling great.

Denise

The aquarium is beautiful, the cat is wonderful! The water is in excellent condition, although the tridacna may have slightly retracted its mantle at the time of filming.

Tara2761

The zebra thought I was giving food, started running around in that area out of joy, and scared the tridactyl)))

Patricia

Sanyok, well done! Very beautiful aqua!

Colin1418

It's some kind of suspicious sterility. It feels like there isn't even any water in the aquarium, it's so clean. Super!

Dana4701

In the third photo, at the top right, the coral resembles an angel) it looks very unusual!

Matthew

This little angel has grown from a 5mm piece that was left after the fragging over the course of a year.

Susan1358

I also took a couple of frags and I'm watching... one has already flown, and three are flying normally...

Wendy

I decided to take a photo for the story. The aquarium is slowly growing on its own, not without difficulties; there was a bit of cyano on the sand, so I treated it with remover, resulting in a couple of delicate acros losing their color, but they have started to regain it little by little. The quality of the photo is not very good, of course.

Jeremy

The blue tridacna looks beautiful in the middle, and the tubastrea in the corners.

Noah1632

Sanya, what kind of coral is this that I circled? Lobophyllia sp.? Where did you buy it and for how much, if it's not a secret?

Kristin

The aquarium looks beautiful, and when it grows a bit more, it will be great. If only you could take some macro shots, you would have something to look at!

Jonathan6173

Odessa, I've had this lobophilia for a long time, I don't remember how much I paid for it.

Kimberly4253

if you have some free time and inspiration, and if you haven't read it yet, take a look here -

Jeffery

I have a lobophilia that behaves calmly, but the hdnofora certainly misbehaves when a coral grows within 3 cm of it, releasing its aggression threads, and the little coral is doomed, or rather the branch.

John1464

In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful marine aquariums, not only on our forum... I wouldn't even dare to aspire to something like this...

Kimberly2102

The aquarium turned out quite nice; where did you buy the fish?

Brent7831

Today I was looking through old photos and noticed the tridacna that has been living with me for exactly a year. I don't know if it's doing well in my aquarium or not, but in a year it has grown exactly two and a half times. Every 2 months it adds about one and a half centimeters to its shell. I took several pictures of the tridacna and the corals. I am also posting a photo of the tridacna from a year ago.

Christopher7213

Good day to everyone. I've decided to upgrade to a larger tank, and I'm sharing the latest photo of the aquarium. I haven't cleaned the glass since I started the new project. I assembled the new aquarium from 12mm glass, with the front dimensions of 130x60x65 cm, and I also built a stand with a metal frame. I will soon start a new topic.

Stephanie4990

Good luck!

Thomas5021

Congratulations on the new start, I remembered how you began and what you have achieved, good luck, and only good luck!

Mitchell7972

Thank you. You can't even imagine how I got to this aquarium. The stand for the 250 liters rusted, so I decided to redo it. In the end, I made a new stand and aquarium. Now, compared to this mini tank, my 250 liters looks small. My main problem is removing the old one and replacing it with the new one; I can't even imagine how I'm going to do that.

Adam4310

The most troublesome thing is to not be lazy and thoroughly rinse the sand before transferring it to the new aquarium. The rest is a matter of skill. Then "crush" everything with the StartUp. Good luck with the new system!

Ronald

Good luck with the new system!!! We are looking forward to a detailed description of the equipment ))))

Melissa1838

you drain half of the water (even more is fine), pull out the old one, push in the new one it's not very heavy, but it's incredibly inconvenient (you can even pour the water into the new one while moving the old one) I moved mine three times like that (though I only have 140) - I prepared the corner for the new one and laid the laminate if you can get a dolly and its legs can fit under the frame - that would be great

Zachary

Sanyok, I understand you. When I remember how I moved from 400 liters to 700 liters, it's both funny and sad. From 8 in the morning until 2 at night (and I had three people helping me for about two hours). I made one mistake, I rushed, and by 11 PM I put the fish in the 700 liters (the water was already 99% clean). The next day by lunchtime, Helman couldn't take it and left this sinful world; it was all due to my haste. If I had waited another day or two, there would be no words... P.S. Off-topic. Sorry for posting in your thread. If anything, call me, and I'll explain in detail and share some nuances.

Kenneth2761

When I think about what awaits, my hair stands on end. Lesh, how many people lifted your aquarium?

Eric8832

Aquarium 1700x600x650 ... glass 10mm, we lifted it and placed it on the stand (the height of the stand is 1 meter), there were four of us. Post 77
