Dear forum members! After much deliberation and equally lengthy and thorough preparation. Thanks to the invaluable assistance of my friends, I have set up my first marine aquarium. Brief description: Volume with built-in filter - 250 liters. Net volume 210 liters. Equipment - three Atman 650 l/h heads. Homemade protein skimmer column modeled after Miniflottor. Lighting - T4 25W 6500K lamp, Philips 52W 6500K economy lamp 1 pc, Philips 23W 868 improved color rendering lamp 2 pcs, Philips CoolBlu T8 18W lamps 3 pcs. The aquarium was initially planned and built for an alternative filtration system. Current inhabitants: Caulerpa and Botryocladia algae. Invertebrates - several small colonies of zoanthids, Discosoma Rhodactis. And the queen of the aquarium - Heteractis Magnifica. I want to express my deepest gratitude for the inspiration and assistance in creating this aquarium to my Friends and Teachers Anatoly and u! Friends! Without you, none of this would have

Amanda

You are at the beginning of a journey to create extraordinary beauty. I wish you good luck.

Heather6148

Yeah, that dream is still looming ahead of me...

Daniel132

Thank you very much. Until I set it up myself, I didn't realize how beautiful and interesting it is.

Angela7060

I have always admired the courage of people who have set up a marine aquarium! It takes so much effort, but it's so beautiful.

Angel628

A bold start, the main thing is to get hooked, and then it takes off and there’s no end in sight, and like a signature, you’ve achieved everything. The ceiling. It turned out to be someone’s floor. You’ve accurately noted, there’s no end in the sea. Good luck to you in this challenging and interesting endeavor, and we, all enthusiasts of marine aquaristics, are nearby; there are many worthy people on the forum if you need anything, we’ll help.

Brandon9634

Thank you, Sensei, I will do my best!!!

Earl

You made a good and faithful step forward... good luck in your endeavors... a marine aquarium is just a dream for me ))) I'm still learning with freshwater ))) In the first photo, I thought the aquarium took up the entire room, but then I realized it was just a photo of the aquarium inside ))) P.S. Personally, I will be waiting for your reports, whether mini or maxi, about your plans and steps... preferably with photos ))))

I am in the sea an eternal student, learning, learning, as the mighty bequeathed.

The following photos after adding new live rocks and a pair of Ocellaris clownfish.

Veronica

Wow.. is that a clownfish? I think that's what it's called too.. even before buying my first aquarium, I really wanted that fish.... but when I found out it was a saltwater fish (I didn't know that due to inexperience and foolishness), I changed my mind right away =((( I was afraid to keep saltwater fish... but it's just an impressive fish in every way ))) By the way, I only learned today that J.K. (live rocks) are not just J.K. (live rocks) monitors but also live rocks ))

Vanessa

I understand that the sump is on the side... How was the problem with the automatic water refill solved? I also understand there won't be any mixers... I didn't see a foam maker; if there's a weak foam maker, there will be brown algae from your friends... (I recently set up and started a ton... the foam maker is powerful... the brown algae were only there for a week... now the aquarium is crystal clear...) The Chinese pumps... I also started with them... then I got rid of them... The back compartment - SUMP, cover it with a sheet of black plastic... There's not enough light, but it will be enough for soft corals. P.S.: I would remove the algae... they don't work in a marine aquarium...

Andrea9320

Congratulations on the launch! What are the length and width of the aquarium? You seem to have done something with the lighting... Judging by the photo, there is enough space for the lamps, and if the budget doesn't allow for T5 lamps, you can easily just put in about 10 T8 lamps. If the length of the aquarium is around 90 centimeters, then 30-watt lamps will fit as well, and that will provide plenty of light. Good luck.

Karen2578

Good start! Congratulations! Ah... the sea, but I'm still far from it... So we're waiting for a detailed report on the progress of your jar, and definitely with photos!

I stand by every word... I expressed my opinion on this aquasystem, and I would just think about it and make an upgrade in the future...

Cheryl9296

The budget is tight. I work with lighting, and the fixtures with bulbs are ready. But at the moment, I think the lighting I have is optimal. After all, the aquarium is only a month old.

Laura4892

Optimal for what? From personal experience, I can say that it's better to make the light good from the start and with a margin; it turns out to be cheaper. Good luck.

Jeremy8404

The light is made with a Biiiiig запас, and right now what is written in the topic is in use, and the living creatures feel fine and are even growing. The only thing I will do in the next week is replace the Philips T8 CoolBlu with coralBlu and Solarin.

Mary

There is no such thing as too much light; there is just enough or not enough. Here, no one criticizes you; they simply point out details that are important according to the forum members. The aquarium itself and your approach to the filtration system are very interesting. I will gladly follow your topic. Wishing health and prosperity to your reef! P.S. I would like to see more photos.

Julie4738

Thank you. The opinion of professionals is very important to me.

Ricardo7341

just great....

Rick

As a newcomer and a potential sailor, I can only envy with "white" envy! Wishing you good luck and prosperity, and most importantly, plenty of patience in this challenging yet beautiful hobby!

John3187

Come over for a visit - I'll sprinkle some heteromorphs for the algae compartment.

Laura7633

Let's see, let's see your abilities and how long you can hold out. It will be interesting to see a photo in 3-4 months. We are waiting.

My young friend, 06-10-2009, how should I understand this? All good?! Doesn't seem like it. Did the "construction of the century" get messed up again?
