Good evening. I also decided to contribute to this forum. It seems unpatriotic not to. I immediately want to express my gratitude to everyone who helped launch this system, which will be a year old in a couple of months. Special thanks to Ray Tkach, who provided invaluable assistance in creating the reef in the initial stage (and not only in the initial stage), and to Sergey's team, who set up an excellent living environment. The description is provided here: Brief system description: size - 1600x650x700 (height) + sump + mangrove tank (but more on that later) lighting - 3 MG 250 watt reef-crest 12000K + 2 actinic T5 from Fauna Marin flow - 2 Tunze on a controller + Sicce 5000 (for rock movement) Protein skimmer - on a Beckett injector, manufactured by Ray Tkach. After replacing the pump with a Resun PG-10000, it became simply "on fire." The system contains approximately 100 kg of live rock + 20 kg of live rock in the mangrove tank. The aquarium has a 5 cm deep live aragonite sand, the sump has 9 cm, and the mangrove tank has Mineral Mud and aragonite sand. The canister filter in the system contains 4 oz. of ChemiPure Elite + Purigen. The Reef Octopus calcium reactor is not keeping up with the system's appetite, so I'm adding Fauna Marin. An

Lindsay

This is a volume suitable for home use! P.S.: I was overwhelmed by a frog!

Mitchell7972

what a beauty! my own sea... it's a dream!

Rick

Great, I really liked it.

Steven7574

Where is the system photo?

Angela6489

Super. By the way, the walls are so clean. Do you clean them or nothing grows on them?

Tina

Well, in the last photo, even the scraper is captured. On the subject - it's very beautiful.

Helen

The glass in marine aquariums is cleaned every 2-3 days!

David4968

In addition to acroporas, my favorites also include these colonies that delight me from 5-6 PM until morning. And if I'm in a good mood, even during the day.

Chad4168

What beautiful, real flowers underwater!

Caroline1599

Strength! Very beautiful, keep it up. I respect your work.

Alec9378

Awesome! In this photo, the aquarium is close to perfection in my view. Did you assemble the mangrove tank yourself?

Sheila1322

There are just no words!!!

Andrew9246

The mangrove decided to glue it himself. The water column in it is low, so he wasn't particularly worried. He ordered the glasses pre-drilled (for water input and output) and polished. He glued it in two stages (that is, over 2 days). Now he is thinking about gluing the frag tank, but he doesn't know where to place it in his apartment yet.

Wesley

How much did your aquarium with all the equipment, fish, and plants cost you??? Did it come to 100,000?

Andrea8397

Well, you really went overboard. As of today, I'm already lost in the numbers. It all cost somewhere between 15,000 and 20,000 evergreen and convenient units. But that's because I was in the process of upgrading the equipment to better ones (and I don't regret it). If I were to make this aquarium now, it would cost me 10,000.

Kevin3579

10,000 greens !!!!! for just one aquarium..... this is definitely not for me... I don't have that kind of "cabbage" to spare, an aquarium is a fairy tale, of course, but it's an expensive pleasure not for everyone.

Kevin3114

I encountered a problem where corals start to overgrow each other, with one consistently overpowering the weaker one. Additionally, some colonies grow "out of balance," and they need to be topped (read - fragmented). Therefore, I quickly built a frag tank in the mangrove area.

Joe

Pump in a muzzle?

Wanda666

Yeah. I couldn't find anything less than a five-ton San-san at home. No matter how I turned it, it was blowing too hard. I had to "suffocate" it. This is a temporary solution. I think I'll put nano corals there.

Mario

I changed the light fixture in the aquarium yesterday. More details in the topic: T5 (80 W) - 2 actinics from Fauna Marin + 2 purples from Fauna Marin (but they are not available yet, and temporarily 2 JBL are burning). MH 2 Reeflux 12000 250 W and 1 Reeflux 12000 400 W. Ballasts - Electronic Coral Vue. Lamp operating hours: T5 - 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM, MH - 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM.

Cassandra1840

Has it become more beautiful with the new light?

David4089

Like in Egypt at a depth of 1 meter!!! After installing a new 400W lamp, I realized that the others (250W) had burned out in just over a year and needed to be replaced. To help the corals adapt, I placed an additional sheet of glass over the aquarium for 1 week. Such a powerful new light is a stress for the corals.

Joshua448

Not everyone is willing to pay that much for an aquarium "cabbage falls." Many earn and pay - it's a hobby - if you have the money, you pay...

Michelle9986

Have you tried selling or trading some coral branches?

Christine864

I would also gladly buy something from you.

Anne

I have long dreamed of a school of small fish. In the latest shipment, I bought such a bunch.

David4089

I also wanted a bunch of anti-aces, but when I got them, they turned out to be not small at all, over 10 cm. I like yours, they're great!

Larry

Bravo!!! The aquarium looks like a picture... I'm speechless! It's beautiful!!!!

Monique1236

The aquarium is just amazing!!! Very beautiful!!!

Lisa

Let's continue to improve! Recently, I bought some new pets from the delivery at Yarika. A new one has appeared:

James5032

Stas the bull wants some of those for himself, the best acropora inhabitant.

Kayla7655

Yeah. Well, actually, I was prophesied that the acroporas would bite. They were wrong... He eats frozen artemia, live nauplii, and large crumbs of food for corals. Basically, everything that is given. Always in sight - that's where I took the photo. In other colonies, his symbionts don't let him in, but I have these guys in every colony, sometimes even two.

Larry

You are super lucky, while we are all just surviving for now.

Kathy

Stas, you did great!! The sea is very beautiful. Everything is done with taste and love.

Katie4842

Indeed, a very beautiful aquarium that allows you to contemplate a piece of the sea at home. And as for the cost, beauty requires sacrifices, including financial ones.

Diana3118

Killer! Just a killer! Oh, well done! Keep it up!

Rebecca

Thank you for the feedback. My interest in marine aquariums was shaped by my experiences with diving and freediving. I wanted to recreate something similar at home. Since almost all the creatures are delivered to our aquariums from their natural habitats, we are obliged to create conditions as close to nature as possible. We cannot afford to cut corners here. The creatures appreciate it. I caught a new angle:

Joseph2576

Hi Stas, what model of camera do you use to take pictures of your reef?

Judy

Hello. Camera Canon EOS-400d, lens Tamron SP AF Aspherical XR 28-75 mm 1:2.8 macro.

Michelle5859

Good evening, Stas! I’m looking at the latest photo of the antias in the foreground near the catalaphyllia, and this is not the first photo. Could you tell me how long they have adapted in your aquarium? And are there any problems with feeding? I really like this fish.

Deborah2682

Good evening. There are no problems with the anti-asses. They adapted and started eating the day after purchase. They eat everything: artemia, shrimp, mussels, pieces of nori that the surgeonfish tear apart, food for gorgonians. The main thing is that the food pieces should be small. However, it's better to feed them more often - 3 times a day. At the same time, the amount of food should be small: all the fish should scatter it within 30-40 seconds.

Nancy758

HURRAY!!! The long-awaited package with chemicals and equipment from the USA has finally arrived. Thank you very much. If you bought all this from us, you would already be bankrupt.

Mike

Yes, the aquarium is a fairy tale )) If I were in Kharkiv, I would invite myself over )) But I have never seen a marine aquarium )))

Michele

Finally received the new lamps from Fauna in - Aquascience DUO T5 80 W. The light is simply amazing. The spectrum of the lamp allowed me to see colors of the corals that were previously hidden. And the intensity... I reduced the burning time of the halides to 6 hours a day. Here’s a photo of the aquarium ONLY with T5. (Believe me, in person it looks completely different; the camera just doesn't capture what the eye sees!!!)

Rebecca1419

Hi Stas. What are the t5s, and how many?

Joe

Great aquarium, the stocking density is excellent, well done!!! By the way, I looked at all the aquariums in this section and noticed a strange pattern - no one has yellow turbinaria. It's odd, the coral is quite nice, especially since only it has that rich yellow color. Stas, think about it, you have about three spots where you could place it (if you haven't saved them for something else, of course).

Andrea6761

2 pcs. Aquascience DUO T5 80 W. and 2 pcs. Aquascience Blue T5 80 W.

Rick

Thank you. I tried to keep yellow turbinaria, but no matter where I placed it (in light, in shade, or in current), it turned brown. I don't know the reason; I should try again. Right now, I'm trying to compensate for the lack of yellow color by planting tubastria in shaded areas.

Alexandra

Awesome aquarium!!!

Loretta5483

Hi Stas. Post more photos, because you can't see all the details in just one.

Aaron6112

I support it, such a beautiful aquarium, it needs to be highlighted in more detail, I would really like to see more photos...

Vincent

By the way, please give your recommendations on the care of the yellow turbinaria. Where do you see it in my aquarium? I have tried placing it in strong currents and right under the metal halide light, but it still loses its color.

Gabriel

Hello. It's better to see it once. I've tried to come twice already, but I still haven't made it.

Scott9892

Thank you, your assessment deserves special attention. And we really need to take more photos, especially in light of such a topic.

Troy8808

Stas, you are always on top. The rhyme is great, the lighting is a dream. I always look forward to your new photos, and I print almost all of them. Best regards.

Lindsay

Very beautiful aquarium, simply stunning as beautiful is an understatement))) I really admire your work!!!

Tiffany5069

A few photos

Karen

The centropyge is beautiful... I've wanted one for a long time... but so far I haven't been able to buy one...

Anne4851

Stas is the very acroparia that grew 50 cm in diameter at Rey. In general, it's the one from which you want a fragment.

Brent8919

CLASS!

Mike

Oh gods!! How beautiful!?! I have no words... I have a cherished dream... a marine aquarium... but I'm not sure if I'll ever dare... it's all so complicated... how much time do you dedicate to this?! I'm in awe. Thank you for the topic.

Yolanda

I knew that this coral was on this rock, but it's good that it survived and created a colony. It was a 1.5x1.5 cm spot (skirt), this is my biggest coral. Now it sits on another rock stream, and the skirt covers it completely down to the very bottom. Wait a year and a half, and you'll have the same thing.

Joseph

Good afternoon, everyone. I have joy in my aquarium!!! More precisely, in the mangrove tank. I have 2 purple apogon living there. And today evening, after coming home from work, I discovered about 30 fry swimming in the mangrove tank. 10 of them settled in the hedgehog diadem, and I caught the rest. I placed 10 of them in the algae tank - there is a lot of plankton there, and 10 in a separate aquarium. They are all already eating brine shrimp nauplii well.

Lindsey3362

Great news. That means they are doing well with you. Congratulations on the newborns.

Vanessa

Well done, Stas! If we are to believe the latest sources, Apogons are on the brink of extinction, and thanks to those who breed them, they can be preserved. It is recommended and requested that enthusiasts buy them specifically from breeders rather than from the wild. (I read it in a magazine) Well done.

Sarah7284

Super aquarium

Ryan7682

I will buy everyone from you.

Joseph2576

Congratulations, Stanislav! Breeding fish in an aquarium is always a good sign...

Phillip9722

I will buy four when they grow up.

Tammy2040

Thank you all for the congratulations and support!!! Here is a photo of the little ones, the quality turned out a bit better:

Jennifer5784

I am very pleased to inform everyone that this wonderful aquarium can now be read about in the pages of the magazine "Reef Aquarium." It has rightfully been added to the section "Chronicle of Remarkable Reefs" and will be part of the golden fund of our marine aquaristics... Congratulations to Stanislav, he has managed to create a beautiful Otherworldly Realm.

Christine864

Stas is great... thanks, Rey...

Jason5071

Recently, I became interested in underwater photography. I bought a housing for my DSLR and a new lens that is well-suited for underwater shooting. It turns out that I can take creative photos of aquariums with it.

Antonio

To have the sea at home and not get into underwater photography is simply a sin.

Cassandra1840

Indeed, everything is connected for me. My passion for freediving and diving led to the creation of a marine aquarium at home. Later, I also wanted to take photographs underwater. My attitude towards the underwater world changed significantly after I got the marine aquarium.

Jasmine

Everything makes sense... diving -> marine aquarium -> underwater filming of the aquarium -> underwater filming of the sea -> and then a change of location at the end of the syndrome - a house by the sea... so as not to go far. Please delete if this is spam.

Justin

The long-awaited new arrival (in my aquarium) from the shipment.

Stephanie9175

Stas, this is awesome. Your new photos are stunning.

Leah

Decided to go the aotero way? )) Great photos! Where's the wide shot?

Natalie

Thank you, I'm trying. "Did you decide to go the Aotero way?))" No, Aotero was on a different path with a different approach. Tubastrea species differ in content from other non-photosynthetic corals. Essentially, they are hard madrepore corals. Their care and feeding won't put a significant strain on the system with the right approach. In general, I'm experimenting...

Yvette209

Stanislav, hello! I am sure you will succeed, good luck to you...

Kathryn514

Hi, Ray! I used to have doubts, but now I am sure it will work out.

Jessica9188

Good day to everyone. I haven't updated on this forum for a long time, I could barely find my thread. So many new aquariums, new projects! Meanwhile, my aquarium has also been living its own life, not without losses, of course. The losses are related to my frequent and long absences (oh, Georgia, Georgia...). The biggest loss is the centropyge. It lived, lived, and just disappeared without a trace. Everything else is going its own way. Moreover, the less you interfere with the aquarium, the better it thrives!

Joseph9203

Stas, you have a wonderful aquarium. You look at the photo and agree with the words: "the reef is one organism" - very beautiful! By the way, how fast do your acroporas and similar ones grow? What are you feeding them now? By the way, do the creatures get along with each other?

James4757

Stanislav, how long have you had your crooked tails? It seems like everyone has lost theirs, and I still haven't decided to get one for myself. It's very painful to see a fish die while you can't help it. For this reason, I haven't gotten a zebra, although I will try to get one; a lot of various sponges are growing, and at first, I was throwing them away, but then I thought it was a chance to try to get a zebra.

Johnny

Thank you. The growth rate of acropora depends on many factors. Sometimes they don't grow at all, while other species grow like crazy. Right now I'm not feeding them at all - I've run out of food. The vodka hasn't run out - it's the main food! (this is not a joke). Of course, SPS corals conflict with each other, but what can you do! The strong outcompete the weak. In the coming days, I'll post some photos of the conflict areas.

Kevin3579

They have been living for quite a while now - probably about six months. Denis infected me with this. But the fish are quite lively. There don't seem to be any problems with their care. Although I did lose two fish as well. They fight the current excellently and can snatch food almost right out of the mouths of the surgeons. They feed well at night; the crooked tails are active at night when feeding with tubifex.

Breanna9982

Alcohol is an intermediate product of metabolism (in some cases, a final product), so it serves as an easily accessible source of energy for many organisms in different food chains. If the reef is sitting on vodka, then let it be. The only concerning fact is that if a person is an alcoholic in an advanced stage, alcohol becomes the main source of nutrition, and sometimes the only one, from which it is practically impossible to recover. Sorry for straying a bit off-topic; it was inspired by a pair in pathology. By the way, your reef is cool; I’m looking forward to photos of the animals. Best regards.

Amy5070

There are no words for beauty. Just positive emotions. I wish I could see the overall view right now.

Scott8536

Stas, your rhyme is commendable. I sent the photo for memory. I already have an album of them.

Frederick

So my aquarium almost completely fits in the 90th post in the first photo. I won't take a new overall photo right now - I made a small cutout and cleared space for the corals. They were already bumping into each other, and there were issues with the flow starting. Now there are white glue blobs sticking out everywhere - not very pretty. I’d rather play around with the new macro lens:

Jacob4800

Very beautiful. Stas, I already asked about the competition between corals. How does it manifest? Do they release gastric filaments or grow tentacles with nematocysts? In general, how do they fight? And who is the bigger aggressor, who is the main oppressor? If you could also provide some photos, I would be very grateful.

Anthony7814

I will prepare the photos in the evening and explain using examples.

Ricardo7341

Wow, how interestingly it is described. Just like the "Cold War"! I never thought that things were so complicated with the "sea."

Aaron6112

I think we are being deceived!!! These are screenshots from "Avatar"!!! I dread to imagine the cost of this beauty...

Stephen

Stas, thank you, it's very interesting, and the photos are, in my opinion, very good, everything is visible. And the galaxy looks so innocent, but it turns out to be a beast. Everything is very beautiful.

Robert5335

A couple of portraits to maintain the theme.

Joshua9340

A couple, little...

Stephanie3084

There is a question. How do you service the pump that is buried in the stones on the left? It should, in theory, be covered with calcium on the outside and inside, right?

Lindsey3628

No, it doesn't accumulate calcium in the dark. In fact, it can be taken out at any moment, as it's not an ordinary stone. But that pump has been gone for a long time. The Tunze has long since died. Now, two Vortech pumps have replaced it and are performing much better.
