Damn, so many gadgets for a 250-liter aquarium... How much did all the equipment cost, though?

Rachel9060

There is a fortune here.

Christopher7213

I don't remember exactly, as it was done over almost two years and mostly by myself. What I remember, I will list: MH lamp $65 Penny $100 Ballast for MH $50 Used return pump $3.75 Current pumps, all together $60.8 Salt $63 Sand $117 L.R. (live rocks) $50 D.R. (dry reef rocks) $75 Tests $23 Hydrometer $12.5 All other equipment was made by hand and partially from stolen parts)). In total, it might add up to around $300. All together, approximately $660-700. But I might have missed something. I forgot to add electronics. $80 I think, in total, it came to about $800.

Alyssa1438

Well done! It turned out nice. I need to make myself such a drain in the new one. And if you do everything by hand, that's even better. Don't forget to update the photo. I'm curious what will be written there. Best regards, J.K. (living stones) = $50??? 12kg?... Maybe I misunderstood something.

Jessica

No, J.K. (live rocks) - 2 kg. S.R.K. (dry reef rocks) 12.5 + 3.5 kg. S.R.K. (dry reef rocks) Dry reef rock. Formerly live. )) It is excellently populated and over time is practically indistinguishable from J.K. (live rocks). Neither externally nor internally. The basis of filtration is live sand. J.K. (live rocks) for a kilo 25 bucks, and for S.R.K. (dry reef rocks) from 4.5 to 3.

Joseph

It is called Red Caulerpa.

Lindsey3362

Hmm... Can she also reproduce sexually?

Frederick

Hooray! Congratulations!!! The army of Moreman is growing!!!!!

Kimberly

Thank you! I will upload your stones today. By the way, did you have any problems with aiptasia? How did you deal with it? What can you say about my tests?

Andrew9246

Tell me, do the fumes from the aquarium affect the furniture?... I'm just thinking of putting a second one in the wall.

Yolanda

If no one eats it, it will just keep growing.

Anne4851

They shouldn't. The space above the aquarium will be well-ventilated, and for the sump, I'll come up with something. Maybe I'll cut a 200mm fan with reduced speed into the cabinet wall. Or I might just cover it with plastic.

Darlene4238

Then I am calm. Otherwise, I am afraid of the caulerpa. It might poison the aquarium again...

Omar3497

tests are normal.... but the helminths have eaten everything...

Lindsey3628

Great! Do you rent it out?

Chris

Very interesting setup, thank you for the detailed photos! My next step in aquaristics is a marine aquarium!!! I have a question for you and other marine enthusiasts—if the electricity goes out, what is the safe time interval without it for the system??? I have a new building in my yard, power outages happen, and there have been long ones; I already know how to save my discus! That's why I have this question!

Tammy2040

In general, nothing overly complicated. The most essential things are the circulation and the skimmer. If I'm wrong, I will be corrected. We set up the UPS. The load is small. Two circulation pumps of 6 watts each, a return pump of 45 watts, and a skimmer of about 20 watts. Even a cheap UPS can handle this load. If you get a more expensive unit, you can also add a heater or lights. But I think the aquarium can easily last about 12 hours without light.

Megan

The larger the system and the cooler the water (within acceptable limits), the longer it will last. 1.5 tons was completely powered off for 26 hours. Without consequences.

Lee

I have 300 liters - 12 hours.. Added after 9 minutes Did the stone fit?

Rita

I haven't picked it up yet. I'll get it today at 8:00 PM. That works. Where else would it go? By the way, do you sell any snails?

Jasmine

By the way, colleagues, please advise on what and when to add. I am planning soft corals, 3-4 fish, 2-3 snails. Maybe something else small and useful.

Nicole263

there are brittle stars and strombus

Tracey

Congratulations on the launch, everything turned out great...

Susan9583

Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful, neat, and it fits the interior, even put in moonlight!!! Don't worry about the water quality, just don't overfeed, and don't add any other fish for now!!!

Jason9952

The growths on the sand turned out to be a brown film. When the MG is turned on, it becomes covered with small bubbles that detach and float up. What is this plague? And how to deal with it?

Melinda

There is no need to struggle. Just wait, it's a normal maturation process. For some, it takes a week, for others a month, depending on luck.

Tracy

And I am for it, there is no need to fight, and you won't be able to fight, it's completely normal, and the MG hasn't fallen much yet, about 2 hours, because such "flowers will grow," let it be, only time will help.................!

Christina9947

The sea doesn't come cheap, no matter how you look at it, and you need to invest money so that it doesn't become costly; you have to think about what and how.

Rebecca1419

Work, but in my opinion, add live rocks; they will help you a lot, and the aquarium will mature faster because of them. They also look cooler. I understand they are more expensive, but beauty is never cheap. Sorry if I said something wrong.

Bonnie

May I see your humble sea?

Shane

It's easy, I'm a beginner in the sea, I've been doing this important thing since the summer of 2008, and to see my sea and my friend, visit my album and take a look.

Andrew419

I'm not an expert here, but in my opinion, the sea is actually very good, and it's only been six months!

Mitchell3177

My friend helped me a lot here; he has extensive experience and has been involved in landscaping and reef maintenance for 10 years. He is a walking book of personal experience. I have many photos of my reef and my friend in my messages; please take a look.

John3142

I fully support this. It will mature on dry rocks, but it will take much longer. Plus, there is so much interesting life on live rocks, sometimes even more interesting than what was bought separately. Moreover, the space in the aquarium clearly allows for adding some rocks. Overall, it's turning out great.

Danielle9144

I will definitely take the live rocks! But I'm waiting for a fresh shipment. I will take it right away. I was told that the shipment of live rocks will arrive in the second half of March.

Michelle9986

Yes, J.K. (living stones) is powerful; there are such things there that you can't help but be amazed.

Megan

Continuation! February 18, 2009 pH 8.2 Ammonium 0.02 Nitrites 0.05 Nitrates not detected. Brown algae are actively dying off. The foam is producing brown-green foam. February 19, 2009 A new resident has appeared! I bought a coral Sarcophyton. I also got a lid. Now for the photos... General view The lid itself SUMP in operation The reason for the celebration A burrow with an ophiuroid This creature was a gift. I forgot to ask its name. That's all for now. Waiting for my salary.

Joseph2576

Sorry, but I don't understand where the samp is located, thank you.

William5838

In the photo (from the first series of shots) with the caption "General view of the aquarium and the sump. Great Polish wall!" it should be clearly visible. It is located to the left and down, in the cabinet. I had to modify the cabinet a bit. I moved the shelf to the top.

Susan1358

Guys! You're in aquaristics in Rolls Royces!!! Cool... I'm starting to scratch my head and think...

Jill9137

The length of the polyps in sarcophytons varies depending on the species... a small crown should be visible at the tip... two imperfections can simply be folds on its cap...

Gabrielle5053

Buds are not visible yet. Apparently, they are not fully opening yet. Regarding the defects - possibly... One has darkening, while the other is white, like a fresh scar. Both are small (5-7 mm in length and 3-4 mm in width).

Larry9400

Don't rush with the livestock, the aquarium isn't ready. It will get stressed and might bark.

Caroline1599

I don't plan anything until the end of March. It's very hard to hold on. Currently, my workload consists of two clowns, an ophiuroid, and a sarcophagid. The salary ran out faster than the desire.
