Good day to all, and the start is finally here. For now, everything looks good, and I hope for your help with goo

Christopher7213

Senya, you are doing great! It's right that you used persistence! I've been following your topic on Aqua-Logo for a long time! I understand how many people were involved in the implementation of your project! Of course, it's still too early to engage in the sea, there is no product range related to the sea.

Joshua8425

in terms of assortment, there is no desire rather...

Steven757

Congratulations on the launch! Well done!

Nicholas

I read Senya's topic, I know how he struggled with each piece of equipment.... Are you saying that we have a wide selection of skimmers....? And there's nowhere to see the livestock!

Monica

Yes, we only have the net that we need, and there is enough livestock; the problem is in mutual understanding, when people look at you as a client rather than as a person who needs help and support. It's just the notion that the sea is expensive, and I agree, I have spent almost 2000 to date, and that's not the limit, considering that I did some things myself and got the goods directly, not with a crazy markup, etc.

Tracy

Read the last post from Seni, or better yet, visit Morozov's website. If everything is fine with your hands, there won't be any problems. They can also bring the equipment, but the question is the price, which won't be very appealing. It all comes down to desire, I repeat... By the way, what kind of skimmer do you need? Tkach can make one based on Beket, or we can arrange something from St. Petersburg and bring it.

Amy5070

So these monsters have appeared, what do you say?

Beth3383

Today I bought some livestock.

Breanna9982

Here are the things for today. Sorry, but I can't upload photos on this site for some reason.

Jacob7201

I decided to replace the voltage stabilizer with one like this and install it for the whole apartment so that everything works properly. With the arrival of the sea in the apartment, many changes have started to happen.

Holly

An aquarium is a toy that isn't cheap, and the sea is made up of expensive things. So changes will be constant. Prepare yourself mentally and financially. Good luck!

New Year shopping

Ronald

Congratulations on the new tenants! Wishing them successful acclimatization and good health!

Christopher3770

thank you all very much for the new year and the new addition

Kenneth7210

Once again, happy New Year to everyone. I have a question: there is a film on the surface of the water in the aquarium. What is it caused by and how can I deal with it? The sarcophyton has almost opened up, but the simularia do not want to.

Sandra7004

dust film (most likely) the water level in the overflow column should be lower than in the aquarium itself, then the film "overflows" into the well. And clean the overflow comb with a brush.

Brandon9634

I made a cabinet for the light fixture like this.

Crystal4879

And here is the lamp I made.

Erin2730

Hello. Could you please tell me where you buy livestock? I live in Mykolaiv. We have nothing for the sea here. It's a big problem for me to go to Kyiv, but Odesa is quite close.

Jennifer5784

Yes, no problem. Find Sasha Loginov on the site; if you can't find him, write to me in private, and I'll give you the phone number. There is also Rey Tkach in Kyiv who can send it. No problems. If there are any issues, call me, and I'll help as much as I can.

Richard2180

Thank you. I found it.

Jessica5348

A bit of livestock

Nicole

Good day to everyone. Well, things are going. Not as I would like. But it is what it is. I have a question. Some corals have grown quite a lot. I plan to trim them. What is the best way to do this? Should I just cut them with scissors or is there a different method?

Shelby3182

Hello everyone. Since I bought SPS, I decided to run some tests. Please don't judge too harshly. If something is wrong, let me know what to pay attention to and how to do it correctly. Today I did a test. Temperature 27 Salinity - 1.030 pH - 7.89 KH - 12 Calcium Test - 350 Phosphate Test - 0.3 Nitrite - 0.02 Ammonia - 0.2 Magnesium Test - 1200

Brianna

The salinity is high; it is better to gradually reduce it to 1.025-1.026. There is a disbalance between KH and Ca. Calcium chloride should be added slowly. Initially, the calcium level will not rise; calcium will precipitate. Only when it balances with KH should both parameters be adjusted. All of this can be done using balancing solutions from Fauna Marin. They should be available at Tkach. There should be no ammonia in the aquarium - that is likely a mistake.

Tara2761

I would recommend it, I think it's better that way. Temperature 27 Salinity -1.026 pH - 8.2 KH - 12 Calcium Test - 450 Phosphate Test - 0.3 Nitrite - 0.02 Ammonia - 0

Joshua9847

I agree with him. Here’s another little hint.

Crystal4879

Is this how it constantly works for me? Yeah, something's off.

Michael3221

Yo yo yo! Senya, you're using calcium hydroxide and pouring it in horse doses! This is Ca(OH)2 - calcium hydroxide. Excessive application raises the pH significantly, which is what's happening to you. Although the pH also spikes, you don't have that, which is strange... A little education: calcium hydroxide should be added as a clear liquid - but you're pouring in some kind of milk. Read up on the topic of balling since you've decided to switch to SPS. Tkach has quality solutions. P.S. Check the ammonium with some other test, like JBL for example. IT SHOULD NOT BE PRESENT IN YOUR SYSTEM.

Andrea8397

I would align the parameters with substitutions, and it would also clarify the situation with ammonia, whether the test is lying or if there is indeed ammonia. Chemistry needs to be handled carefully. Senya, the kalkwasser (container) must be airtight so that air does not get in, otherwise, all the calcium forms a crust on top in the photo. By the way, that's also why the pH is not off the charts, because in contact with air, only the wasp remains in that container.

Ryan2281

You really attacked Senya. He will read and figure it out. He is a persistent little guy.

Noah1632

Yes, I'm a complete fool, I completely agree. I apologize, I initially mixed things up. I'm using the one Pavlik made without a lid (my fault). Thank you, Ray. Yeah, I was dealing with it at first, then I let it go. But I’ll figure it out now, after all, I’ll try not to let it slide in the future (just too much going on). Today I went to three pharmacies, and they don't have it in powder form. Only in bottles. In general, if anyone has it or can sell it, please help and let me know what to do.

Darrell5975

Senya will outdo everyone here in persistence towards achieving the set goal! Respect, Senya, good luck!

Alejandro

If there is a problem to obtain it, I will send it to the south, but which one is needed: - non-hazardous technical - food e-509 - 2-water food for dairy industry - 6-water pharmaceutical

Aaron580

People, please advise what is needed. So that a person can send what is necessary. Yesterday I finally bought it, hoping for this killer of my aiptasia. So, due to the fact that he is on wheels, I have been trying to feed him all day. He doesn't want to eat the different cubes I threw in. Everyone eats, but he doesn't. There is a feast for the whole world, so much food, and he still stays aside in the jar. They all chase him away, except for the clowns, of course, and the goby, who just wants to eat. I bought Artemia eggs, as I understood, 0.5 liters of water and keep it at 27 degrees for a day. And that's it, no need to stir or do anything else.

Jeffery

If you bought a helman and it is not eating, read here, I wrote how I leveled it up. Post 4.

Corey3201

I didn't specifically overfeed Helmon. For a couple of days, he really didn't eat anything, or rather, it wasn't visible that he was eating. Then I heard a click in the aquarium and saw that he was nibbling on the aiptasia. Gradually, he showed interest in frozen food. He loves bloodworms. As of today, he eats alongside all the other fish, though not quickly, but I feed him often.

Erica752

It seems he started to feed, and the fish began to peck and search for something among the stones. Although the Zebrasoma constantly chases him away.

Amanda

Is there any point in taking this or not?

Joe

Hello everyone, good day. A question of life and death. A person is asking about sending post 38, and here I am wondering what to buy to raise calcium levels. And the response is silence; as soon as something is asked, no one replies, but when it comes to giving advice, there’s no one around.

Holly

You need to buy a good balling from Fauna Marin. If you're having trouble with it now, you should get calcium chloride dihydrate for milk production. But that's if you're planning to switch to SPS. If calcium isn't being depleted too much and you mainly have soft corals in the aquarium for now, you should get biocalcium from Tropic Marin or the same from AquaMedic. P.S. Also, try looking for calcium chloride in pharmacies. Just make sure you need the powder, not the solution (dihydrate or hexahydrate - it doesn't matter).

Nancy758

I will send 2-water. farm. About 250 grams.

Daniel9952

Fedor Spasibki received everything. I will increase the calcium to the normal level.

Amy

Good day everyone. The child wants a hedgehog, and there is an option Mespillia Globulus and Echinometra Sp. Starfish Linckia Multiflora Linckia Laevigata (M). Sorry for the naive question, but which one is better to buy? By the way, after adding calcium, the corals have become much better than they were.

Robert800

This is pleasing. But don't rush, or you might overdo it. Measure KH and Ca every three days.

Chelsea

KN-8 Ca-390-400

Cindy

Good day. Today, I received from Calcinus Elegans, Linckia Laevigata (M), Mespillia Globulus, and Macrodactylia Dorensis. Everything arrived fine, and most importantly, quickly and efficiently. There are generally no issues with payment, so feel free to reach out to anyone in need. The only thing is that it seems to me that the Starfish is very large for my aquarium, but we'll see how it goes. I have a question about the SPS; one side has turned white, maybe I should move it. Before, it was lying on the neighboring coral, and it got buried, but now I've leveled it out. And I made a lid, as discussed.

Todd

I have never seen small linkies for sale; when mine arrived, it was about 20 cm. It seems to me that it has become a bit smaller now, probably because suppliers select larger specimens. Even if it doesn't find food in the aquarium, it can live up to six months. SPS, unlike soft corals, prefer bright light and current.

Adam

I have a son who weighs 4300 grams and is 54 cm long.

Andrea8397

Well, Senya, congratulations!!!! I hope there will be another topic in the future "Nemo for son-2"?

Robert

Here’s how wonderful everything is, Senya, congratulations!!!!

Ryan1989

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Wishing health and happiness to the baby and his Mom, may he grow up obediently to bring joy to his parents!!!

Angel628

Congratulations, Senya! Wishing everyone health and happiness! Better like this: "Nemo for son-2 (1000 liters + 500 sump)"

Courtney

Give, give, and I'll have a little fun!!! CONGRATULATIONS. A hero (judging by the weight) has been born!!!

Nicole7268

And he was born on International Children's Day! Congratulations!

Kristen1161

If the Kovo has a Mineral Salt solution without salt, it is not enough for Balling. Today I received a package from Akrapor Paros, but there were no problems either. The question is whether they must be glued or can just be placed in the holes of the stones and that's it.

Kristen1161

Don't touch them unnecessarily for now, don't stick them. Let them adapt to the aquarium. Regarding "salt without salt." It's not critical chemistry. You can dose it not once a day, but once a week or two. You currently have few calcium consumers and you've balanced the water parameters, so start dosing about 20-30 ml of each solution for balling per day. After a week, test and adjust the dose. P.S. Oh, you've already added photos! And you have quite a few aiptasia! Make sure they don't touch the SPS. They'll wipe them out in no time. Try to eliminate them at least around the corals.

Leonard

Yeah, there is such a thing, and I personally don't see Helmon eating them.

James

Senya, congratulations on the birth of your son!!! May he grow up healthy and bring joy to his mom and dad.

Earl

thank you well, it seems that something is not working mechanically, and I treated them with Kипеток in different ways, but probably it’s not working. I must have missed something initially, and that’s why they multiplied. So, what’s going on with the water filters for osmosis? I have a 5-micron filter, if I’m not mistaken, with large carbon and fine carbon + silver. The reading after osmosis, if I trust the meter, is 0.36, and after the resin, it’s 0.02.

Nicole

I apologize for probably bothering everyone already. But I haven't touched you guys for a year. I was waiting for the jar to mature and for the aiptasia to grow. So now, excuse me, I'm a bit stuck with diving. By the way, here's a topic: Strombus turned out pretty cool. Well, maybe someone will find it interesting.

Kenneth7331

Senya, congratulations on your son!!! It's better to replace the silver cartridge with a regular pressed carbon one; silver is not good for the aquarium. It doesn't get into the water, but the membrane still works with silver ions.

Jennifer

thank you so everything is like this, what order do you have it in

Carrie1606

I have it like this: polypropylene 2mic-carbon granules-pressed carbon (without silver)-membrane-ion resin (recently).

Timothy

Moreover, after the membrane, there is a tee: one tap for the kitchen and one for the aquarium through resin. P.S. Treat the aiptasia with a syringe of kalkwasser - it helps.

Daniel8015

I sincerely apologize. The same eggs, just in profile, 5 micron, coal granules, pressed + silver, and 2 flasks with resin. Stas tried it, or something is wrong, it remains the same as it was. Maybe increase the dosage (kipetok + calvester powder).

Aaron

It seems so. I managed to do it. The main thing is to get it in their mouth. Or to pierce it.

Jessica8898

QUESTION? 1 Is the FLUVAL carbon, which comes in boxes of three packets, good or not at all? 2 If I add, for example, a few JBL supplements, the carbon absorbs all the trace elements, so what should I do? Please explain, I don't understand, which is why I don't use carbon; otherwise, what's the point of adding supplements if the carbon removes both the bad stuff and the necessary elements? Best regards, ALEXEY.

Heather2018

I personally have 2 packs in Samp, I change them once a month.

Debra

And how much with coal microelements, expensive additives in the trash, some nonsense.

Jessica8898

This is not nonsense. Many people keep coal in their tanks or in canisters, and it's fine. As for the trace elements, someone wrote that they are not very useful, so you can skip them, and everything will still grow.

Rebecca1419

Alright, if that's the case, and everything necessary from salt is in the corner, what next?

Amy

If you don't believe me, ask Plataks; he has a lot of experience and a wonderful aquarium. He uses carbon, and he does everything very economically, hardly changing the water and apparently not spending much on trace elements. Here's another interesting aquarium. The filtration system only has a canister with carbon and anti-phosphate, with no skimmer or refugium. The author is Marco Haaga; here is his old reef.

Kenneth2761

I have a penny and three heads of mechanics, and that's it.

Jason5071

This was written by a person who doesn't have brightly colored SPS corals in their aquarium. However, another aquarist, who has a beautiful SPS aquarium, posted a translation of an article from Reef Central about the influence of trace element additives on the coloration of colonies. Specifically, it discusses which trace elements affect which colors. (There’s a bit of a pun here, but the meaning is clear.)

Anna9752

I had noticed that Helmon had been ignoring the iphtazis for quite a while, but after a month, they somehow started to disappear, and then I accidentally saw him eating them. Snap - and they're gone. Before that, there were countless of them, all the stones were overgrown, but Helmon thoroughly cleaned them up in a month or two. P.S. By the way, for some reason, they have also disappeared in the samp, even though Helmon doesn't go there.

Debra8438

My Chelmon rostratus is destroying everything, he's a beast. I specifically take aiptasia from friends to feed him, throwing in a handful a month, and in three days it's all gone. He even wiped out Ksenia, which doesn't make me very happy. But he keeps the aquarium under control.

Dawn6148

And you don't have a translation to read about this aquarist or links.

Craig7302

This was written by Sleepy in this thread, post #17.

Julie3950

... And that's why we add trace elements not once a month, but daily. In general, it's a good idea to use dosing pumps for this.

Tami

I'm not against it, but the initial question was about coal, and I stated unequivocally that it was nonsense. Is that a normal approach? I believe that there can be many systems for maintaining an aquarium, each with its own drawbacks, and I think there is no need to categorically reject anything without familiarizing oneself with the experiences of other aquarists, especially if they have more experience and have achieved better results.

Steven

Hello everyone. So, I picked up the little one from the maternity hospital. After a general discussion, mom and the older son decided to name the younger one Om. So, from Yarik, Actinia, and Hedgehog (just a joke). For myself, I decided that the most important thing is water preparation, so I plan to consistently work on the filters. That's why I was asking what and how much it costs. I plan to install another filter before the reverse osmosis and after three resins, like it is now. By the way, the hermit crab has settled on the coral; maybe it should accept something, or maybe it shouldn't.

Amanda

As far as I understand, this is a blue-eyed hermit. Then he will shamelessly eat SPs. I had a similar one who was sent to prison for that.

Sydney

Here is the reason why Senya's skeleton appeared on my frag.

David4089

First of all, I don't reject anything, that's one. I ask questions, so read carefully. As for getting acquainted with the experience of other aquarists, I studied for three years before setting up my own marine aquarium; I watched, tried, smelled, and tasted. The more I did this, the more questions I had, which is why I ask such questions. If my questions irritate someone, I don't know how to ask them differently for now. Best regards.

Gene1948

It's definitely not your fault, Aephtazia. Sorry, it's my fault. He later appeared from Yarik, the hermit, the blue star (actinia, I’m a hedgehog) died, I apologize, it's my fault.

Yolanda

Just keep going. I've been through a lot too, but I've achieved something, and this is not the limit. Once I finish building the house for the kids, then I'll make a proper Nemo 2, definitely around 800 liters.

Debbie3587

It's not worth getting defensive; the best results come from approaching information with an open mind.

Chad

Personally, I didn't plan to ask you questions, being sure that you are unlikely to guide me on the right path, and this fact is evident, as they say, no further comments. Good luck to you.

Kimberly4253

Today I specifically dealt with water preparation. I installed a ceramic filter before the osmosis and another simple one. After the osmosis, there are three resins. Now I will run all this and start replacing the water.

Melissa3200

I wanted to ask. Maybe someone has done this. Is it possible to add water from the sea (Black Sea) to an aquarium, or is it not allowed?

Jacob7201

I wouldn't pour. After all, you started aiming at SPS. And why? Topping off? Too bland. Adding more? You increase the salinity. Plus, the chemical composition is unknown.

Eric8832

I just asked because I dive almost once a week. And in the evening after work, it's nice to go to the sea to buy some. It's not hard to gather that.

Sara4035

Good day to everyone. After thinking a bit and noticing that my aquarium is not doing well, I decided to change my filter. So far, I am satisfied with the result. The question is whether to add some sand to the sump or not, and also how much to add to the mixer—should I throw in one or two spoons a week?

Hannah

Hello. In my opinion, sand under the stands of the pen is not needed at all. As for calquaser, it won't dissolve more than necessary (1.66 g per liter of water). So no matter how much you throw in, the concentration of the solution will remain the same. The rest will settle at the bottom. That's why stirrers are used to gradually dissolve the settled material.

Yolanda

Here’s what kind of little worm I found to leave or how.

Christopher1252

Let it chew... just be careful with it, it's very sharp... it might break its needle... and they are like a piece of glass...

Marie5348

Senya, in the photo you have a Reddish hydrometer. How reliable is it? How does it work? What are your overall impressions?

Patrick4439

The little worm is beautiful, but I don't recommend picking it up with your hands; they bite. I have one that's about three times bigger, and I also felt sorry to flush it down the toilet...

Guy

Good day. I have 4 such worms. My hands are fine (thank you). It's just lying there, it's a pity to throw it away.
