Please advise on the parazoanthids. There is some brownish coating on the stalk. It goes up to the top and clearly outlines, stopping about 5 mm short of the head. It seems to be affecting them; some polyps have what looks like constrictions. Could it be some kind of algae? It looks velvety.

And if it is not present in the soil, what can affect the corals separately? How can we help them?

Jeffery

A slightly stronger current is needed.

As a preventive measure, you can brush it off, place it a bit in the shade. Once, my Papua corals were affected, just one of them, without any obvious reasons. It didn't want to open at all. First, I brushed it, then I vacuumed it, moved it slightly into the shade, and by the way, there was more current there (40 cm from the 2700 Aquael). After a week of "vacuuming" and other procedures, the Papua coral became like new.

The idea that cyanobacteria don't like current is a myth. I don't have much experience, and my aquarium is quite new, but my cyanobacteria actually grow in the area with the strongest current. What can I say, the water pump is completely covered in it.
