Hi. Try scratching the cap a little; maybe it can't shed the film during molting? I had the same thing happen; it was closed for over a week, then I scratched it and the film cracked right away, and the polyps came out. After that, I blew off the film with a stream and moved it to a spot with better flow so that the film would be blown off.
