• Ocellaris - help identify and heal!

Good day, dear community! I really need your help in treating my clownfish! About a week ago, a growth appeared on its underside, near the fins, which is translucent and sometimes fills with blood. However, the clownfish's behavior has not changed at all; it eats well and swims actively... Googling the issue has yielded almost nothing. I ask for your help in identifying and treating this problem! The photo is from my phone; I apologize for the quality, but it's impossible to catch it for a photo session.

I can't say for sure, but I think it's an invasive disease. The causative agent is a flagellate. Inflamed anal opening, partially prolapsed rectum. The fish do not refuse food, but they become severely emaciated and usually die without treatment. Treatment is only in a separate vessel.

If possible, please provide more details about the treatment. I am a complete novice in marine aquariums; this is the first fish in my 30 liters. What should I use for treatment, and how should I treat it? I would be very grateful!

Understood. Did you pour the medication directly into the aquarium, or should the patient be moved to a separate room? I also read about freshwater baths. "Most invasive diseases are treated with one straightforward universal method – short freshwater baths with the addition of malachite green, methylene blue, and formalin. The action of the freshwater bath is based on the osmotic shock experienced by both the parasites and their host, i.e., the fish." What do you think about this method?

Thank you! I will try. Can you also tell me the duration of the treatment?

Usually 14 days, but depending on the severity of the disease, it can be longer. However, as a rule, the quarantine lasts a month.
