• The little eel's back has darkened, the zebra cichlid's fins are covered in white specks.

Good evening, everyone. The fox arrived stressed, covered in dark spots, and after a couple of days it calmed down and turned yellow. A few days ago, its back darkened again. Is it stress, or is this coloration normal? The yellow zebrasoma has white specks on its fins and doesn't want to go to the bottom. It's generally a skittish creature that causes panic among the others. Unfortunately, I can't take a photo; it hides instantly when I get close, and it doesn't stay still—it's as quick as a bullet! I ask for advice: what should I be worried about?!

Michael

Foxes often change their coloration depending on the animal's behavior; there's nothing particularly special or alarming about that. But this is worse. It is obvious that you have cryptocarion in the fish. This is exactly the case I have mentioned repeatedly; however, all of this is a cry in the wilderness... the same mistakes, the same consequences. Now think about how to proceed; maybe this will help, but not without losses, of course... this.

There are no dark spots where the bumps are, and this morning I could hardly see them (the bumps), but last night they were clearly visible. What vitamins can be given to marine fish? I always added regular human vitamins directly to the food for discus. I am closely monitoring the quarantine; I suppose the quarantine aquarium also needs to be cycled? Will it take time?

Tolya, well, with biofiltration in the quarantine tank, especially in home conditions, you've gone a bit too far. 2. Observe for a while; if there are no new outbreaks, there's no reason to worry. Most likely, your fish got covered in crypt after transportation and being placed in the aquarium; this often happens with surgeonfish.
