• Question about Aqua Medic fittings

  • Daniel132

Good afternoon. I am currently preparing to set up an aquarium and have a question about one component. There are Aquamedic transitions through the holes in the bottom of the aquarium. There is external threading at the bottom of these transitions. Some people suggest gluing the pipe directly into the fittings and not paying attention to the threading. However, in this case, the pipes will be non-removable, which does not quite suit me. That is, to make them removable, it is enough to screw on a "union". On the Aquamedic website, the external diameter d3 is listed as app.27 and app.34. It is not entirely clear what units these are in. Does anyone know how to finish this component differently? Thank you for your responses.

Valera, hi! Take the collet chuck, it's about Aquamir.

Hello! For proper assembly, you need to use threaded connections 32-1" (2 pcs) and 25-3/4 (1 pc).

On one side, there is a thread, and on the other, it is for glue. Then, weakly assemble with a 32 and 25 pipe respectively, or transition to 25 and 20 through reductions.

The thing is, these are my photos and the fittings have already been purchased and soldered, except for the connections shown in the photo.

The pipe just needs to be shortened to the length of the fitting... can the pipe be removed?

Steven

Yes, it is possible. I think I have already found what I need: a detachable coupling 1/2"x20 and 3/4"x25.

Sharon

Not like mine?

A little different. There, it's like an American one, one part is thrown away, the other is glued to the pipe and wound onto the aquamedic.
