Can anyone who uses such an osmosis system advise: if it's used solely for a small system, could it be suitable?

This is not osmosis. This is actually one osmotic membrane. It can be used, but it will need to be replaced every couple of months.

It would be preferable to have pre-filters for it, resin after that, and a storage tank... otherwise, you'll be dripping from the tap )) and to avoid damaging the membrane, a clever 4-way valve for flushing wouldn't hurt either.

It seems that the main advantage of this "osmosis" is the price. Two pre-filters, no tank. It can be used for aquariums, but it is much less cost-effective than standard 5-6 stage systems with resins. Resins are also recommended for this.

Come on... just add 300-400 and buy an osmosis system... especially since it's not more expensive than the one in your link. Plus, it has a storage tank and a tap... what's the problem???
