• Heater in the samp

  • Debra

So summer is over, and with it, the problems with cooling the aquarium have gone. There is a need to turn on the heater (before that, the heater wasn't even installed). Since I don't like cluttering the aquarium with equipment, I would like to place the heater in the sump. Hence: 1. Is this possible in principle? 2. Is there experience with such a heating system? 3. Where is it best to place it in the sump? Here is a photo of the sump with indications of sensor installation locations: Since I can't come up with anything sensible myself, I turn to my colleagues. I think it would be best to place it in the intake chamber.

Off-topic. Personally, I have never had a heater, and I have never had problems with hypothermia either.

Chelsea

Yes, I think I do too, but when I remember Alchevsk...

Off-topic. What's happening in Alchevsk?

A couple of years ago in winter, half of the city had their radiators in homes burst from the ice. There was an accident at the heating station.

I have a heater in the sump... I don't see any difficulties with its placement. Considering the large water exchange between the aquarium and the sump, the temperature is maintained properly... and I don't think it matters in which part of the sump the heater is located.

I confirm that it was like that in Alchevsk, the apartment was +2. But for my fish, it was like in Africa, +25, thanks to the heater.

and what if there was still no light

Here is the answer to the question "Why" Then they would be building a new Alchevsk now, just like they did with Khartsyzk back in the day.

Your sump is small, and I have no idea where to fit it. In my sump, for example, there is a 300W heater that can be placed anywhere, and if I need to install it, I will put it closer to the return pump chamber (where the last partitions are). But I think there is no need for it yet, as during severe frosts, the temperature in the apartment is +25+26, but there is space and heating available for installation; the length of the sump is 1m 10cm.

Why is it so small? 900x600x500 mm???

Kristen2246

Compare what can fit in mine and in yours (different constructions, it's big but there's no space, various structures are stuck on, inclines, slopes, large water level changes, low water level in the compartments, where to fit a heater, for example, 40 cm long at 300w). Where are the algae? It doesn't belong there. And one question? Where the skimmer is located, there is a container with water behind it; isn't it stagnant? I don't understand, please explain.

This is osmosis for automatic filling. I will stick 4x75 watts, they will fit normally in the input compartment.

And how about this one?
