Colleagues, is anyone a happy owner of this product? What are your impressions of its performance? What nuances are there in the setup? In your opinion, does it handle the system's load (how many liters, number of fish, specifics of corals)? Here are its parameters: Dimensions (L/W/H) 210x86x397 mm. The thought arose to cut the second partition in the sump of the BOYU TL 550 aquarium and place this protein skimmer there. However, since the partition can only be cut once, I would like to consult first before modifying the sump.

The 600 (Deltec) is not suitable. It would mean buying a new item, cutting all the intake and outflow pipes... In that case, it’s better to look for a used one. The 500 is interesting because the intake is on the side and the outflow is also side, opposite. It’s an ideal solution for Boyu, Resanov, etc. But there is one point - the body must be no lower than 80mm from the water level... For now, I’m studying and consulting.

I am the owner of this device. My overall experience with it is positive. There are no particular nuances in the setup. Due to the rectangular shape of the foam collector, it is a bit inconvenient to clean. However, it needs to be cleaned every few days.

You might ask, what's the point of sponges in these pouches? Will they be thrown away?

To prevent air bubbles from entering the aquarium (in case the skimmer is installed directly in the tank)

Is that correct? Should I maintain this level? When I cut the first partition, the level will instantly become variable (1 compartment at the bottom, flow to the 2nd at the top, 3rd at the bottom). Automatic filling is not an issue.

Variable water level is not a problem. The main thing is that the minimum level should not be lower than 120mm (when installed in the sump) and the maximum should not exceed 320mm.

Well... with such a level... you need to prepare a grinder...
