A lot has already been written about skimmers. The main discussion revolves around how much air and water a specific unit can handle, but it's difficult to find practical information on how much waste it actually removes. When transitioning to a larger volume, I considered replacing my skimmer with a new one. However, after observing how others work and trying out several models myself, I began to question the necessity of a replacement. I would like people to share their personal experiences. I think it would be interesting to compare the actual performance of different devices. Currently, I have an Aqua Medic Turboflotor Blue 1000 skimmer, with the original AQ 1200 pump replaced by an Aqua Medic PH 2500 Multi SL. My aquarium measures 125x55x60, holding around 400 liters, and is home to two tangs, two clownfish, a pair of mandarins, a pencilfish, and four shrimp. The corals, except for mushrooms, are all hard. The skimmer removes approximately 200-250 ml of foul-smelling waste per day. Despite its somewhat unclear design, it is very easy to adjust and start up.
